I'm from "Jael of the Village"....the topic got my attention..very interesting. Land, construction are very "touchy". I'm one whose been conned by relatives....
I can relate, very sad. Build my mum a retirement home at the countryside, during the process my own bro would encourage constructors to overcharge for labor, just because my mum allowed him to be one of construction workers. Got me constructors with no expertise and I just lost so much money. Thank God was somehow able to redo some things. But it hurts to the core when your own family betrays you even after being there and coming through for them in so many ways. But I know better now.
People of God don't just send money home test them first. I tested a relative with $100 to do something for me. It was a test, so whatever she was doing was not of great importance. The relative did not deliver. In fact , relatives went silent for weeks. Meanwhile, this is a relative who was consistent with communication pre sending the money. I knew the silence meant something, but I wanted to give relative time to report back. When the relative did not report back, I reached out. Relative had all sorts of stories, and that was the genesis of never trusting said person to help me with my project. It's been 5 years, and the relative is too embarrassed to communicate. Good for me because I do not have to deal with relative any more.
Relatives are something else... imagine my sister and her husband...stoll from me...I send 200k for piece of land...till now 6years no phone call nothing...

Wuod Ma, your channel is growing and we are loving your content. Keep up . That's one beautiful home. I agree with you of getting your facts right before building in ancestral land. Land is crucial for sure
I have subscribed. It was easy to acquire land all over kenyan. The next stage, putting up a building will be challenging. Thank you for sharing. Beautiful home you have.
Wuon Odidi new sub here, I started watching your channel not in less than a week now , when you did a video on leaving America and I was how? And yet we're here struggling to get a Visa to come over there 😢 Anyways I have to support girwa inbe Koro duok lwedo kora Koni. Great content 👏
Very educational. Love the video, looking forward to more. We like the main double door, can you please share the contact. We would like to have the same.
Thoroughly enjoyed today's content, thanks for sharing. Can you share estimates of the cost of materials you used and roughly how long it took to complete as you were not on the ground. Only estimates as prices change often. Fantabulous homes! Congrats!
Thank you thank you!!! Well, that may be difficult to estimate since we have built over a period of 4 yrs..and we are not done :) Also, as you said, the cost of materials has exponentially grown compared to 4 years ago. For example, cement was 500 when we started..now its 900..Overall, for this structure, materials had to be no less than 30M
Hi Wuon loving your channel. Please why are your dogs chained up? You have a walled and gated compound . It hurts my heart to see these very active puppies chained when they could be running free in the compound and with such a short chain !
My apologies! They are temporarily leashed when we have contractors on the ground-for safety: The dogs are guard dogs and get very aggressive with strangers. Also, the leashes are long..they just get wound up.

Nice home.. Does your architect have a Facebook page or website I would love to get building ideas from such a person. Or you came up with your house design?
I really like this channel especially your beautiful accent. I'm a dog lover so it pains my heart to see the dogs chained! What is the purpose of having them chained if they're your dogs and their trained and they are there to protect your property why are they not free to do so
