Hi, Paul! Great reaction! What Amira has done here is out of this world. First her range here was G3-E6, extrapolating at both extremes the regular soprano range. No pop singer reaches E6. Trained pop sopranos can't either. The vast majority of trained classical sopranos use a prerecorded E6. The few sopranos who project this E6 live, end their participation there, because they can't sing anything else afterwards. Amira projected this E6 live and, if she needed to, she would project it again. Remember that in Amazing Grace, at the age of 13, she projected an Eb6 live and continued singing and projecting a long G5 at the end. An absolute queen.
This was a huge production, with professional actors, musicians, dancers and all the people behind the scenes. Then right there in the middle of it is this amazing teenager Amira. And she seemed to feel right at home there on center stage.

You can do well to follow his channel. He also gas numerous English songs. One of the best is his new version of Sound of Silence, which I rate up there with Disturbed's version. An extremely talented singer with a very versatile voice. It's worthwhile checking him out
A great reaction. Indeed, Amira hit a E6 at the very end. To give you an idea, it was also the highest usual note of Maria Callas, for example in Lucia di Lammermoor's "Mad Scene" by Donizetti.
And you can hear also her lower range at the beginning, in my humble opinion she improved it. An outstanding performance !
Maria Callas was 32 in Lucia di Lammermoor "Mad Scene" when she reached E6. Callas' first recorded Eb6 was when she was 26. In Amira's first recorded Eb6 (Amazing Grace live), she was 13. Just saying.

Indeed. As you know, in her rendition of Amazing Grace, Amira did a vocalise with her upper range during thirty seconds. And in my opinion, that's one thing to do that as an exercise, but an other one to succeed it perfectly at the age of 13, in a concert, with such a powerful voice, and above all so effortlessly.
Besides, she reached this level seven years before entering university for music studies...Stunning.
@@bsirta5824 The hardest part of being a real soprano (a regular one) is being able to project a long, powerful and precise C6. The first time Amira projected a long, powerful and beautiful C6, she was 8 years old (gosh!). And I think it was her first ovation.

Reminds me of when she sang Barcelona...which she did at about age II or 12... That final peircingly high note .. amazing.
I've looked at the video so many times and every time I get goosebumps at the end when Amira sings higher and higher...she is amazing .
By the way yes Johan is South African and a really fab singer, by the way Amira tho born in Holland from A Dutch father and a South African mother, she has spent most of her life in South Africa , SA Groot has been very good to Amira .

Amira has sung with Ruhan several times. You can hear them doing Barcelona, or Follow your heart. This second one best presented under the title The love between Amira Willighagen and her father Gerrit. It shows a series of beautiful shots of them interacting.
The pop classics sound is a bit of a change from Amira 's usual style, but she handles it in her stride.
