The goal was simple-to prevent job losses for immigrants stuck in visa backlogs. However, these senators are pushing hard to remove the extension, calling it “insane” and “dangerous”. They claim it allows "illegal immigrants" to work for over a year, even though the rule actually applies to legal, skilled professionals like Indian H-1B visa holders and their spouses.
