There used to be a hill called “ahh shit” but they fixed it and removed the sign to not offend tourists. I used to stop for lunch a lot at the Finger Mountain Stop. Sometimes you’d see peregrine falcon feeding on bees at the right time of year.
It is really not that bad, except at the very beginning and by the northern coastal plains, where you literally have to go 25 miles per hour or your vehicle will fall apart. They are slowly paving it though. Give it a couple of years.
I won’t. Also unless you get real good tires with good sidewalls I’d keep it under 50. I worked in communications along it for 15 years and was on the road more days than not. Many days were 300-400 miles. I worked many years just north of the Arctic Circle.
