- Learn how to make a hybrid mermaid tail with silicone, sequin and scuba fabric. This is an affordable option compared to a full silicone tail. Also it is much lighter that make it easy to travel with. My final favorite is the amazing sparkle and glitter effect that you get with the sun reflection on the sequins.

Scuba Knit Fabric : amzn.to/2x3pmDJ
Silicone Quantities: Total 3650ml (about 250$ of silicone)
750ml front side 1st layer/750ml back side (each side has 2 pieces)
650ml front side second layer / 650ml back side second layer
75ml to glue 2 front pieces / same 75ml for the 2 back pieces
300ml to glue front and back pieces with monofin inside
200ml finishing layer (top coat) on front and 200ml back

I was living on a tropical island last year and made a silicone tail with limited resources, I watched many videos for assistance. My tail was a success and it was wonderful to be the only mermaid on the Island of Saipan. I've just moved to Toronto with my boyfriend and I've been creating a fabric tail this time out of elegant white sequin fabric I purchased in Japan. I'm not skilled yet with a sewing machine so my adventure so far has all been hand made. I love it. I just finished my top today. I'd love to chat with you more. I also love your new mermaid platform, you are doing incredible and hard work for us mermaids, thank you!!!

Not if you seal them down with latex or a thin coat of silicone or something.
Question for Cinthia, I have a finfolk mythic tail and it's too big around my thighs...I would need to have it ajusted...could she do it? She seems experienced with scuba material that is why :o

Just a quickie. Sorry. The silicone is purple on the box. The diagram says it cures purple but yours didn't? Also. Are there any other types of silicone I could use that are maybe less pricey?
Catalina Curran dragonskin silicone is the onr of the only skin safe silicone to use. im not sure about other ones, though.
