- The first in our list of White Collar Sins will be laziness-showing a lack of effort or energy, the unwillingness to act or, in some cases, even care. Though many would smirk at this as being petty or trivial (after all there are much worse things in the world), the Bible itself addresses it as being substantial since many other lives can be affected by it. Laziness grows on people; it begins in cobwebs and ends in chains.
This teaching is from our series White Collar Sins with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Church.

Certainly there is a parental example involved here as well. But a lazy person needs to overcome what they weren't taught, or modeled by their parents, because no parent, or family is perfect. Also there is the nature of the person, beyond being fallen. Some children/adolescents do need a stricter upbringing than others, until healthy habits are formed, and there are those who are more diligent in their hobbies, than in their life's work. I enjoyed this sermon. Spot on, especially on Whom we are working for. That puts it in perspective. Work is not selfishness, but a means to bless others.

God bless and keep Calvary, I was struggling with laziness and I constantly pray about it and I changed my pray this morning by declaring all that God said about me. It changed when my attitude towards laziness changed. However, when I completed my bible study I saw pastor Skip message while in work and I felt God speaking to me through him. You all are always in my prayers! Blessings
I repent of laziness Lord and need your help in this area. If some satanic agent is watching me I would call that laziness as well! In agreement with this whole message I loosen the word of proverbs 6:6-11, proverbs 24:30-34, romans 12:11, 2 corinthians 6:14-15, matthew 6:24, 1 john 3:10 and this whole message for myself, my friends, family, colleagues, neighbours, acquintances, my opponents and the body of Christ to bind every spirit of laziness upon no return in my life, while binding I will be unequally yoked or have any common share with any evildoer serving satan, loosening for myself, my friends, family, colleagues, neighbours, acquintances, opponents and the body of Christ to be self-motivated to work in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!

Wow..for years after several kids it was go go go, no nap. Now im older and its an anxious mind when im at rest. Lol.cant find an in between.

Hi Skip, In one of your sermons you said that you might be ADHD, now the things your talking about in this sermon is right but a lot of the things your describing are the traits of ADHD and people with this condition are not lazy but do start projects and dont finish them and are continuously distracted and professional procrastinators but not lazy… anywho, thank you for your wonderful sermons but this one sermon needs to be thought about again… God Bless…

I sooooo desperately want a job! Do whatever I can! I've been toiling, praying for 9 months now... Tried hustling by designing websites, designing t-shirts/clothing/shoes, selling solar panels/batteries - name it, I tried. Yes, all while PRAYING AND PLEADING WITH THE LORD.
My country's policies and affirmative action, ratial laws are oppressive and absolutely EVIL. Can't work, can't trade, can't even get an interview if you're a white male older than 40.

Maybe we should support those we perceive as lazy with guidance. Neurotypical adults like those with ADHD may not be lazy but fail to produce more fruit because of neurologically impaired executive functioning

I don’t understand the picture of skull between the words Calvary and Church, and next to different tittle. I’m worried. You call pastor Skip, “ Skip” I find it disrespectful.
