    Thanks a bunch for your videos and feedback... For some reason after flying everything from fixed to rotary (not auto gyros), PPC/PPG, this is just now looking like a heaven to me.. I think I've always been hesitant simply due to hangliding, which I haven't ever done watching a friend die doing it when I was young... Thanks to your video and a few others, I'm seriously going to look into this and leave my late 70's bias behind..

      So great question. Since I don't know any of your flying history I'll answer this as if you have no flying history. The first thing recommend is for someone to make sure they can fly. This might sound funny but actually some people have problems with flying and the only way you know is to fly. So the first step is finding someone to fly with in the types of aircraft you're interested in. I fly trikes because of the amazing visibility, fun of it and the adventure it always gives. So finding someone to fly with can be as simple as finding out if someone at your local airport flies what you're looking into and talking with them. The best way though is to locate a Certified Flight instructor (CFI) and do an introductory flight and or actual flight instruction. Narrowing down if you want to fly trikes or 3axis aircraft is really flying in the different aircraft to see what you like the best.
      Watch as many videos as you can on the types of aircraft your interested it.
      Go to Oshkosh air show if you can. You will get to meet people that fly and produce these types of aircraft and other types. When I go there I stay 90 percent of the time in the light aircraft section cause it's just so much fun and way more affordable to do this type of flying.
      If you google Larry Mednick Evolution trikes and call him he can give you a load of information about trikes. He manufactures my trike and other types. I have also given him permission to give out my number and so if you want to call me I'll be happy to give you inspiration! Cause I love flying. You will have to leave a message or text my number telling me your calling. I get so many spam calls that I started doing that.

    I fly a PPC currently, how fast is your average air speed? Seems much faster than my machine.
    Can’t do much cross country at only 35 to 40 mph. Either hitting ground turbulence in a morning flight as things heat up, or run out of daylight on evening flights. 😞

    Hello Roger, I am buying a trike and am wondering if you fly with a single surface or double surface wing, and what was your deciding factor on it?

    • @larsonadventures580
      @larsonadventures580  Рік тому +1

      Hi Scott. Great that you are buying a trike and great question. So we fly with a double surface wing. The advantages of a double surface wing are speed and fuel per distance economy. The advantage of the single surface wing is that you can take them down for transport quicker. The single surface wing flies slower and can land in a shorter distance. One question you might want to ask yourself is who will you be flying with? If you fly with people that have double surface wings, you would be sorry you had a single surface wing. You would not be able to keep up with them. We typically fly longer distances per flight. If we fly to a destination that is 100 miles away and want to get back that becomes a 200 mile flight. So ask yourself what your mission is? Do you want to travel longer distances? Will you be constantly transporting and just fly a closer area? I haven't ever. heard of anyone buying a double surface wing and being sorry. I have talked with people that have single surface wings and wish they had a double surface wing. Also, it is possible to have both types as your mission changes back and forth. We do love our double surface wing. It is the Rival x 14 meter. Remember that it is the wing that determines your speed of your trike and not so much the motor. If you want to fly with us, get a double surface wing for sure! :)

    • @scottevaughn
      @scottevaughn Рік тому +1

      @@larsonadventures580 Thank you for your input. When I was hang gliding the double surface was the way to go but I wasn't sure about the trike. I was thinking the shorter take off and landing of the single surface would be better for remote places, but like you said it definitely would be better to get somewhere quicker. I can't imagine getting on my motorcycle and riding 45mph to get somewhere.
      Thanks again Roger.

      topographic measurements arent based on beliefs, but actual measurements used for real life purposes, if they were wrong, then every infrastructure on earth would be wrong as well. railways do not curve around an imaginary ball... neither do canals, powerlines, roads or oceans for that matter... water lays FLAT 100% of the time, oceans depths are measured with straight lines, not curves.. planes do not account for curvature when flying, much less rotation... imagine you try flying north south when the earth would be going 1400 km per hour east to west.... the very notion is totally insane. I dont believe the earth is flat... I know it is... you probably have a hard time grasping the concept, because you keep picturing a "solar system" in outer space in your mind... I understand its a hard pill to swallow, but there is no such thing as "outer space"... no one has ever gone higher than what they call "low earth orbit", there's a barrier no one can cross, look up "operation fish bowl" and NASA is nothing but a hollywood production, they are not going anyhwere. it surprises me that still in 2023 someone wouldnt have heard of Flat Earth yet... but I guess the elite does a great job at hiding it as much as possible because it exposes all their lies and their agendas on saving the planet to push their new world order... the sun, moon and stars are very close to earth and simply go in circle around it.. the true map of the world is the Azimuthal Equidistant map, which is the actual logo of the U.N. All images you have ever seen of earth from space is nothing but a painting or a made CGI cartoon... if you think your world is a ball, then try finding a single proof of it, and of course, if you are being honest with yourself, you will discard any "arguments" provided as "proofs" but will have an objective mind on what constitutes a real proof, like actual measurements of earth and not "ideas" like "ships sail over the curve" or "planets are spherical then why earth wouldnt be"... cause these things have an explanation and do not constitute proofs of earths shape in any way... they are strawman arguments used by those who simply wish to remain blind as if the earths shape was an actual religious belief they hold dear to their heart.

      Do you pay for the parts in a high performance sports car or are you paying for the time, effort and experience that went into making it. Think Formula One, etc. There’s your answer.

      For a two seater you need at least a sport pilot license here in the U.S. A single seater that falls under part 103 you do not.

      Yes this size you do. There are smaller ones and single seats that fall under Far part 103 and you can fly those without a license. They just have limitations.
