#HOG in the house....Hang Over Gang. This was more of Tom addressing haters, fake fans and disingenuous disses from clowns. He has a very large catalog and is diverse, but his songs covering politics and social issues to start conversations are his go to. You may decide his music isn't what you like. But it is true, Tom is totally independent. He and his girl write their lyrics, shes a rapper too and very dope, he produces his own beats, she and now his girlfriend, stage name Nova Rockefeller, his sister and her husband, do all the filming, editing and graphics, when needed they build their own sets, he promotes his own music and merch, and pushes it out the door. He has talent. One can at least give him props for that. But he has stalker haters that just hate. Tom really is more about trying to encourage people and bring them together. You just caught him after a couple of years of just addressing the haters. He's had to do that several times. Peace.
Yes, the beat to this one was mainly atmospheric and background, Tom is fully independent, makes all his own beats, he builds the sets when needed and his girlfriend Nova shoots the music videos. Something else people don't think about, but they also handle Distribution. ALL of his albums, merch, etc. come from Them directly. They handle every single piece personally. True hangover gang (tom's fan base / family) understand that people have preferences in music and don't get mad when people don't like every single one of his songs, we support and love Tom (and Nova) for his heart, his transparency, and his overall message of unity. Tom is a very versatile artist so each song is going to be different than the next, I honestly don't think you'll be disappointed if you go down the rabbit hole. You will realize probably as you go he has some songs that are going to be more technical those are usually his Flex tracks basically just reminding people that he can actually rap lol and then you have his other songs where he wants to get a message across so he will not be as technical in those songs because he wants it easily digestible for anyone who listens. I can definitely recommend some of my favorites, I don't know what your tasting music is yet because I've only seen this one reaction so just bear with us and we will recommend differnt songs depending on how each reaction goes that's usually how it works. There are many sides of Tom, and I'll be two major differences I think in his music, you have the songs that touch on topics that no one else wants to usually politics and social issues. Then you have the other major theme which is mental Health. Tom struggles with anxiety and depression and he's very very transparent about it and his music and he puts himself out there to help others. As far as the beat goes in this it's funny because I know he changed the beat, this was a different type of song though, this was basically a track to all the people who have been hating not I'm just Tom but on Hangover gang this year especially, tom gets a lot of hate more than most people I don't even think could imagine so every once in awhile he puts out Songs Like This, but even this one was different than the others. Some people decide to go from the beginning others decided just pick songs I don't know how you want to do it, but a song I definitely recommend is HANGMAN, the song came out I believe in late 2015 or could have been 2016 I'm not sure, like amidst his mental breakdown as he was getting sober I think he had just relapsed, but he always knew that he was meant for more, that will make sense if you watch the video. I challenge you to run down the rabbit hole for a bit, learn more about his career, learn about the recent "challenges" made to him, then revisit this song. Like the honesty bro. I think you’ll have a better understanding of how epic this song actually was, once you get to understand him more. This song was meant to be cinematic in tone, being that he’s essentially telling you his story. It’s basically a short film, thus the reason for the cinematic music. I used to think he was underestimated as a producer, but recent recognition by Billboard by placing him among the best in the industry means I was definitely wrong. Tom is so unique as an artist, many people’s first impression is off putting because they’re looking for that cookie cutter artist they usually can fit into a box. Obviously they’re but in many cases intrigued at the same time. Many of them turn out to be hard core fans.

This Friday Tom will be releasing a new vid at 9am your time which will be about the veterans. Last year he put out 2 vids of note on that theme: Superman and American Flags. The first one is an anti war acoustic song, the second, the beat might drive you to the front lines, lol. As a reactor, I’d recommend these 2 this week, and a follow up with his one on Friday. When it came to your first Tom song to hear, this was addressing a couple years worth of haters in one song while keeping it inspiring. For me, this was a masterpiece. Try American Flags for a hard beat. Everyone likes different beats I have noticed. One thing about Tom's music is there is something for everyone. Always there is a message and it generally is a positive one. People So Stupid is a good one too and The System. Great reaction even if it was missing the beat you like. Just like most artists, not going to like every song.
I can only recommend to go down that Tom McDonald rabbit hole. You'll find all the big beat drops you could ever want, along with versatility, lyricism, playfull tunes, political and socially conscious and critical music and straight flexin', adressing all sorts of haters. Tom has a wild back story. I apologize for this long post. I got comment diarrhea (gross symbolism, sorry). If any of my phrases seem weird, feel free to ask (I am a 65 year old Hispanic American - 2nd gen - and I sometimes use slang from when I was your age, a long, long time ago). ***Personal Opinion on Tom***: I think part of the anger Tom has towards the corporate music industry is due him buying into the message presented by rappers. He wound up depressed, messed up on alcohol and came close to suicide. This is also the first song that went viral and triggered how he came up. See “Dear Rappers” He couldn’t pay his bills AND was evicted, living on the street until he went back and lived at his mom’s for 9 months, fully disconnected from the world, not even interacting with other humans, contemplating suicide on the daily. He finally made his way back and has nothing nice to say about the music industry labels or the message they push to the mainstream. He will not compromise and had no choice but to be truly independent. His music is also his therapy for the darkness of the depression and anxiety - that monster never goes away, I know because I’ve tried to kill the one lurking in my shadows. If you check out “Sober”, you will get Tom’s story. He is an open book and knows that keeping it 💯 helps keep the monster locked down. His spoken word joints are also good for backstory. As you react to more of Tom’s tracks, im sure you’ll seen why there are 3 groups of people that listen to Tom’s tracks: 1. The haters. Never gonna change and the #hangovergang will always just wave🖕🏽🖕🏿🖕🏼 2. The people that feel the same way he does and like his message and that he holds the industry accountable: See “Blame The Rappers” ft DAX. Group 3 includes me and many others - keeping it real af: 3. We are people that have done battle with our own demons, such as alcohol, drugs, other addictions and depression. Many of us have even been close to suicide but we kept hanging on. We still fight our demons but we refuse to give them power over us. While Tom’s music is therapy for him, it’s also a source of strength for us. The thing that gives us the greatest power over the darkness is knowing we are not alone. That is why we are part of the #hangovergang, we will never be alone, there is strength in numbers. Lastly, some things I’ve learned after flipping the bird to Death 3 times: *: Life is full of absurdity. When non-critical shit happens (I.e. bought the wrong car part or the car part breaks), treat it is as an absurdity and laugh your ass off at it. That takes all the power away from absurdities. Things like dyslexia are also absurdities (I have it bad but joke about it because, well you know, it’s ABSURD!). PS: If Life gives you melons, you might be dyslexic. *: Life is a grand adventure. And, just like any roller coaster, there are scary parts and there are the thrills. All you have to remember is to Hold On Tight and enjoy the ride. Substances like alcohol and drugs don’t enhance the adventure, they will however, muddy the experience. *: You are not alone. No matter what struggles or challenges you may face, others have been there. There is no shame in the struggle, it’s what makes us stronger, like lifting weights. As we lift more, we get stronger but, there is a time when every weight lifter takes on a little more than they can safely handle and they ask someone to be a spotter, just in case. The only shame in life is when we are trying to “lift” more than we are able, but do not seek help from a spotter. His story and lyrics are great like I said. The music was good but there were too many gaps. Stopping the beat in the song emphasizes the lyrics but when it is too long or frequent it detracts from the purpose of the pause. It's like a movie with too long of a build up to the action. This is a high energy song with too many lulls in the music. Just my opinion. I will be listening to more though, I do like his style, look, lyrics and video.

Totally disagree with your "lacking the beat". when you do an 8.5 minute song with a video to boot, the last thing you want is for someone to only hear the beat and miss the entire message. The beat should never be strong enough to overpower his message. And believe me, this was Tom's life story in 8.5 minutes to a T. There are certainly other songs that you should listen to if you are all about the beat. But Tom is the best independent singer out there, don't let anyone tell you otherwise, they are just blowing smoke......

#HOG in the house....Hang Over Gang. This was more of Tom addressing haters, fake fans and disingenuous disses from clowns. He has a very large catalog and is diverse, but his songs covering politics and social issues to start conversations are his go to. You may decide his music isn't what you like. But it is true, Tom is totally independent. He and his girl write their lyrics, shes a rapper too and very dope, he produces his own beats, she and now his girlfriend, stage name Nova Rockefeller, his sister and her husband, do all the filming, editing and graphics, when needed they build their own sets, he promotes his own music and merch, and pushes it out the door. He has talent. One can at least give him props for that. But he has stalker haters that just hate. Tom really is more about trying to encourage people and bring them together. You just caught him after a couple of years of just addressing the haters. He's had to do that several times. Peace.

First just want to say I did actually enjoy your reaction no reason to roast you lol. True hangover gang (tom's fan base / family) understand that people have preferences in music and don't get mad when people don't like every single one of his songs, we support and love Tom (and Nova) for his heart, his transparency, and his overall message of unity. Tom is a very versatile artist so each song is going to be different than the next, I honestly don't think you'll be disappointed if you go down the rabbit hole. You will realize probably as you go he has some songs that are going to be more technical those are usually his Flex tracks basically just reminding people that he can actually rap lol and then you have his other songs where he wants to get a message across so he will not be as technical in those songs because he wants it easily digestible for anyone who listens. I can definitely recommend some of my favorites, I don't know what your tasting music is yet because I've only seen this one reaction so just bear with us and we will recommend differnt songs depending on how each reaction goes that's usually how it works. There are many sides of Tom, and I'll be two major differences I think in his music, you have the songs that touch on topics that no one else wants to usually politics and social issues. Then you have the other major theme which is mental Health. Tom struggles with anxiety and depression and he's very very transparent about it and his music and he puts himself out there to help others.
As far as the beat goes in this it's funny because I know he changed the beat, this was a different type of song though, this was basically a track to all the people who have been hating not I'm just Tom but on Hangover gang this year especially, tom gets a lot of hate more than most people I don't even think could imagine so every once in awhile he puts out Songs Like This, but even this one was different than the others.
Some people decide to go from the beginning others decided just pick songs I don't know how you want to do it, but a song I definitely recommend is HANGMAN, the song came out I believe in late 2015 or could have been 2016 I'm not sure, like amidst his mental breakdown as he was getting sober I think he had just relapsed, but he always knew that he was meant for more, that will make sense if you watch the video.

Like the honesty bro. I think you’ll have a better understanding of how epic this song actually was, once you get to understand him more. This song was meant to be cinematic in tone, being that he’s essentially telling you his story. It’s basically a short film, thus the reason for the cinematic music. I used to think he was underestimated as a producer, but recent recognition by Billboard by placing him among the best in the industry means I was definitely wrong. Tom is so unique as an artist, many people’s first impression is off putting because they’re looking for that cookie cutter artist they usually can fit into a box. Obviously they’re but in many cases intrigued at the same time. Many of them turn out to be hard core fans.

This Friday Tom will be releasing a new vid at 9am your time which will be about the veterans. Last year he put out 2 vids of note on that theme: Superman and American Flags. The first one is an anti war acoustic song, the second, the beat might drive you to the front lines, lol. As a reactor, I’d recommend these 2 this week, and a follow up with his one on Friday. When it came to your first Tom song to hear, this was addressing a couple years worth of haters in one song while keeping it inspiring. For me, this was a masterpiece. Try American Flags for a hard beat. Everyone likes different beats I have noticed. One thing about Tom's music is there is something for everyone. Always there is a message and it generally is a positive one. People So Stupid is a good one too and The System. Great reaction even if it was missing the beat you like. Just like most artists, not going to like every song.
I can only recommend to go down that Tom McDonald rabbit hole. You'll find all the big beat drops you could ever want, along with versatility, lyricism, playfull tunes, political and socially conscious and critical music and straight flexin', adressing all sorts of haters. I would also recommend to go back to the beginnings and maybe start from "Dear rappers" onwards, since that's the song he blew up on. Enjoy.

If any of my phrases seem weird, feel free to ask (I am a 65 year old Hispanic American - 2nd gen - and I sometimes use slang from when I was your age, a long, long time ago).
***Personal Opinion on Tom***:
I think part of the anger Tom has towards the corporate music industry is due him buying into the message presented by rappers. He wound up depressed, messed up on alcohol and came close to suicide.
This is also the first song that went viral and triggered how he came up.
See “Dear Rappers”
He couldn’t pay his bills AND was evicted, living on the street until he went back and lived at his mom’s for 9 months, fully disconnected from the world, not even interacting with other humans, contemplating suicide on the daily.
He finally made his way back and has nothing nice to say about the music industry labels or the message they push to the mainstream. He will not compromise and had no choice but to be truly independent. His music is also his therapy for the darkness of the depression and anxiety - that monster never goes away, I know because I’ve tried to kill the one lurking in my shadows.
If you check out “Sober”, you will get Tom’s story. He is an open book and knows that keeping it 💯 helps keep the monster locked down.
His spoken word joints are also good for backstory.
As you react to more of Tom’s tracks, im sure you’ll seen why there are 3 groups of people that listen to Tom’s tracks:
1. The haters. Never gonna change and the #hangovergang will always just wave🖕🏽🖕🏿🖕🏼
2. The people that feel the same way he does and like his message and that he holds the industry accountable: See “Blame The Rappers” ft DAX.

3. We are people that have done battle with our own demons, such as alcohol, drugs, other addictions and depression. Many of us have even been close to suicide but we kept hanging on. We still fight our demons but we refuse to give them power over us. While Tom’s music is therapy for him, it’s also a source of strength for us. The thing that gives us the greatest power over the darkness is knowing we are not alone. That is why we are part of the #hangovergang, we will never be alone, there is strength in numbers.
Lastly, some things I’ve learned after flipping the bird to Death 3 times:
*: Life is full of absurdity. When non-critical shit happens (I.e. bought the wrong car part or the car part breaks), treat it is as an absurdity and laugh your ass off at it. That takes all the power away from absurdities. Things like dyslexia are also absurdities (I have it bad but joke about it because, well you know, it’s ABSURD!).
PS: If Life gives you melons, you might be dyslexic.
*: Life is a grand adventure. And, just like any roller coaster, there are scary parts and there are the thrills. All you have to remember is to Hold On Tight and enjoy the ride. Substances like alcohol and drugs don’t enhance the adventure, they will however, muddy the experience.
*: You are not alone. No matter what struggles or challenges you may face, others have been there. There is no shame in the struggle, it’s what makes us stronger, like lifting weights. As we lift more, we get stronger but, there is a time when every weight lifter takes on a little more than they can safely handle and they ask someone to be a spotter, just in case. The only shame in life is when we are trying to “lift” more than we are able, but do not seek help from a spotter. There are lots of people who are willing to serve as a “spotter” when asked.

His story and lyrics are great like I said. The music was good but there were too many gaps. Stopping the beat in the song emphasizes the lyrics but when it is too long or frequent it detracts from the purpose of the pause. It's like a movie with too long of a build up to the action. This is a high energy song with too many lulls in the music. Just my opinion. I will be listening to more though, I do like his style, look, lyrics and video.

Totally disagree with your "lacking the beat". when you do an 8.5 minute song with a video to boot, the last thing you want is for someone to only hear the beat and miss the entire message. The beat should never be strong enough to overpower his message. And believe me, this was Tom's life story in 8.5 minutes to a T. There are certainly other songs that you should listen to if you are all about the beat. But Tom is the best independent singer out there, don't let anyone tell you otherwise, they are just blowing smoke......
