Very helpful and informative tutorial! I love the way Lindsay explains the technical matters! Learnt a lot! Thank you so much Lindsay and all the great people at Adorama! God bless you all!
Oh wow, love the light in general created by the beauty dish! Good that you showed us the accessories that are available, thank you Lindsay Adler for all the knowledge you share as well as for ADORAMA for having great videos on their channel!
Eres una genia Lindsay y me encanta tu trabajo. Tengo uno plateado con grid y calcetín, ahora me fabricaré una placa con acrílico blanco translúcido porque es mi modificador favorito. Gracias, te saludo desde Argentina
Hiii integrating frosted plate on white BD is something super ... grid gives more directional lighting i think will have to change exposure to enhance pastel color details further..... and any chance of making rfi vs ocf vs white bd / vs umbrella deep white ... and thanks
How come there’s no mention of the size of the beauty dish and the distance from the model? That information makes a huge difference on quality of light.
I have many other videos on that. MANY. I even have one specifically dedicated to white vs silver: ua-cam.com/video/JuSka6H5x1E/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/SXho3aZxwzc/v-deo.html
If you dont have a beauty dish, go for it. But I can put up a beauty dish and quickly change distance, sock/no sock, grid/no grid, grid + sock and get a lot of other results, quickly!
I absolutely hate the quality of the grid.. It falls out way to quickly and also breaks the first time it falls out... I don't understand why they designed it to be held by a few rubbers on the inside of the dish.. Why not use clamps that you can manually release on the outside?? I use the beauty dish on a daily basis and also love how the grid doesn't spill light but other than that it's overpriced badly designed cheap material..
I really love the black and white photos at the end. Really stands out.
That last set of B&W images are so nicely done 👍
I really learned a lot from this class. Hope to see more content this month or next. Kudos to the photographer, team, and Adorama for great content.
My pleasure!
6:17 The with-grid shot is fantastic even before adding additional lights. 👍

I love your videos
Recommend the lighting course - it's amazing :)
Thank you, Lindsay. I've got a beauty dish collecting dust because setting up a softbox became more convenient. Time to revisit it!
I want to revist mine as well but a grid for it is 100 bucks ridiculous for a peace of plastic.
Thank you...i've learned a lot from this video.....
That is awesome
Have you tried the perforated silver in conjunction with the frosted pretty cool
no ! link me to it please!

¡Muchas gracias por las palabras amables! :)
I just got the Mola Sollo and I desperately need a grid for it!

What's good Beauty dish for beginner
A cheap Godox would be great!
@Joshua Hamilton Okay thanks take a look
What size of beauty dish is that?
One thing is once you had added defused sock to beauty dish law of physic of light alters way the beauty dish works!
Most beauty dishes don't have the ability to use a frosted plate like this.
correct. this one is profoto. I know that bron and mola do though!
@@lindsayadlerphotolove the frosted plate on my Mola Demi!
beauty dish with sock?why not just using the softbox

Well once you put sock on beauty dish then it’s becomes small round soft box 👍🏻
