I can relate to quite a few things you mentioned particularly walking the black dog. I continue to cope with life by telling myself that generally there is good in everyone if you care to find it and everyone has their strength and weaknesses. I'm blessed with being an 'introvert' but I can imaging how difficult thing could be for those that are 'extroverts' .
It is fascinating how social media can be such a powerful tool in terms of mental health. And it’s a double edged tool, it can be incredibly destructive but also extremely empowering. And that can be quite a tightrope to walk, especially when your own tightrope constantly intersects with those of others trying to maintain their own balance!
It's great that you put content out every day, boaty . For me , especially during the winter months and at work, youtube is pure escapism ,it gives you something to focus on pushing any other problems to the back of your mind . I've been online and involved in one group or another for many years . I would like to think most of what i say could be said to anyone face to face . I love typing away , giving the brain a bit of exercise and listening to other peoples points of view, life experiences, etc. I dont get to do that in my day to day . But as you say, a lot of what goes on , online you can't take personally. As for recent events, im not sure what to make of them. But if i was planning to leave a group, i would just go without a word. Gosh, all the doings of yesteryear with trolls, etc. sound awful. Oh just one more thing i wanted to say, reguarding the extra videos you put on ie two fat ladies ect, if i dont watch them its not because i dont find them interesting, its because i simply dont have the time .
Nice rant Boaty , Things never stay the same however good they are at the time for very long , you have to look forward and see the next thing coming along and make that work and enjoy it even if its not as good as what you had before .Think outside the box always and play the game and stay in control .

So. I'm new - from Sean's channel. . This was fascinating to watch. I've seen clips of a bit of laddish doings with yr mate in prior clips - yet I'm just not surprised you did as u did at scrabble, as you articulate with flair when so choose. When you made this, you had no idea Sean was a watching - or due to be - & his subs bods may become aware of your channel. Yep I agree UA-cam can b amazing if u choose to view it that way. I also know I have left channels for reasons that channel wouldnt know of, that may not be at all personal or reflect on the quality or interest of that channel (but may be a personal or somewhat random reason). As you note, there can be so many factors behind people subscribing & unsubscribing, that if you took it personally you would be side tracked by the ups & downs of your subs numbers - of people arriving & leaving your channel. Its pleasant to hear the very faint Welsh tilt to your vocal pitch that denotes your ancestry. You must be you. That is all you can do to navigate running a UA-cam channel in a healthy manner. You have depth, though. Your ruminations reflect intelligence & wise knowings that can spring from the blessings of 'life experience'. So that's not so boring 4 subscribers to listen to, even if you are simply driving home in the dark. As with Geoff tho (as discussed earlier) a good dose of ironic British humour & the timings off - never goes amiss, either.
Oh gosh, there are some very kind sentiments in there, and I very much appreciate the depth of your reaction! Of course I began this channel completely by accident, and certainly with no plan of what it should or could become. Rather it was just the random discovery of an editing app on my iPad following a rather special date with an old flame, plus the luxury of time on my hands and the cottage to myself after the ending of a rather intense relationship. And the whole UA-cam doings remain an unformed exercise, that continues because it is addictive by nature, I’m a competitive soul that always wants to succeed when I absolutely don’t deserve too (it’s more satisfying than well deserved success) and I have managed to make some small differences for a few people. Which has become a driving force for me, surprisingly. As an arrogant, self centred, narcissistic selfish swine I never expected that! 😉🤣
Jesus Boaty some of us in the human race will never grow up and continue to behave like children in the playground, how sad to be so angry about something that is not important. Not nice for you or anyone in that position. I would have concerns about those who earn a living from YT, the constant pressure to throw up interesting content on a regular basis can't be good. Maybe I am wrong. Feck sake I actually jumped on my seat then 20:00 😱💩. Us poor men are a slave to our bladders over a certain age, aren't we.😂..... By the way, yourself and the captain have absolutely taken over my yt viewing,, nothing offends me with you two.
I don’t think you’re wrong at all. Obviously my income stream from UA-cam is as near to zero as makes no odds, so I shouldn’t obsess about uploading content. And yet I do! I can only imagine what that’s like when it is your full time income. Or maybe it becomes easier as you have much more time to dedicate to it rather than working around a full time job?
