I luckily have a good relationship with my pawn shop as their "Video Game Customer" pretty much, so they always get me a good deal. They also sell at gamestop trade prices which is amazing in most cases.
Bro I love your videos. I've been a good video game buyer for years but since watching your videos I've really gotten into reselling. Thanks for having a channel for EXACTLY what I've been looking for 😊
Honestly i like those pawn shops i was in one in croatia i found some awesome stuff there like some old consoles and even got 4 games they were only 60 KM and id recommend goin to any pawn shop
What’s ironic is Caleb was probably the guy that showed up by himself or his one friend then tried to be the center of attention while people avoided him like the plague
3:18 the differences I see on the $189 (front) are that the direction pad buttons are different shapes compared to the $199 one(back). Also, the plus and minus buttons look like small squares on the front one. And on the front one as well, the a b x y buttons look bigger. So im guessing the one in the back is an official switch.
Hi Caleb I know I have seen you come to Greenwood Indiana (near where I live) on your sourcing trips in the past in videos and I just wanted to let you know that the Cash America pawns in Greenwood are no longer carrying video games or dvds. The owner told me when I was in there the other day they are transitioning to just tools, guns, instruments and electronics, no more media of any kind because it takes too much space and time and sells slower so they arent taking any more in and once the small handful of consoles they have left are gone they're done.
Either I missed a vid or you haven't bought Zelda yet, that's gotta be your next buy! Love the content, subscribed at around 90k and the channel keeps growing!
Just a heads up all of my local pawn shops have been basically giving away games. Got 30 Xbox 360 games for $10 two weeks ago. From what I heard they are trying to get away from any physical media so keep an eye out for shops trying to get rid of inventory
You know, I am not a reseller but this definitely is showing me I should not be so picky about where I get my used games (or start buying 2nd hand consoles) because these seem to be decent deals for a collector/gamer! Any advice on signs that a game/console might not be functional? I know obvious scratches, discoloration, and warping on discs is usually a sign to be wary. I am less confident with 2nd hand consoles (I usually only buy new)
Always test the console before buying. Test if it outputs video, reads discs / cartridges, connects online, isn't super noisy or making weird noises (indicates that it's probably full of dust inside or that the thermal paste dried. This is fixable but it might indicate further problems to come, like YLOD or RROD), test all inputs (buttons triggers joysticks) of included controllers, check for drifting and battery capacity. Do the same for portable consoles. Testing all that shouldn't be a problem with local listings, if the seller is honest. Shouldn't take more than like 15 minutes also. As for online listings, only buy from a marketplace that will reimburse you if the seller scams you (eBay). Do all that and you should be fine.
Also make sure that the console isn't banned from online services. Sometimes the console itself is, not the accounts, so you wouldn't be able to play online at all once you own it. Ask to see the owner's online account connect, or connect a burner one so that you're not screwed if it gets banned for being on the console.
I’ve gotten a few steals on electronics at a pawn shop by me. You gotta really know what you’re looking for, sort of like the DVDs, but there’s some serious profit to be made at these pawn shops. They don’t really make money from the items, they make their money from loaning money.
I think the big city is better because since they would more likely get more items in bulk they would also bulk price them. And might be vise versa for smaller shops
If you need to remove the stickers just use a hairdryer. Doesn't need to be very warm, they come off pretty easy. If the gunk is bad or its just super old you can use a little goo-gone on a cotton ball. Takes like
sometimes pawn shops asking 15 for games that are worth 2 dollars can be a good thing. for anyone bringing in games to sell to them anyway. if they are paying 5 dollars a game....you are buying them for 2 or 1....... bring them 40 games and triple up. i used to do that to this place called steelcity video. they paid 15 dollars for ps2 games. ebgames had some ps2 games for 3 or 4 dollars at that time. let me tell you...steelcity video had 20 copies of ONI real quick.
Hi phoenix resale I’m just here to say you’ve helped me to start my own reselling buisness but I’ve just had my first mishap shipping out I’ve mixed up a package and don’t know how I will get out of this
I just have one question out of curiosity...the Chronos game, you say you make $3 bucks after fees, but if you're shipping, and shipping costs on average $4, how you make any money? Or is it free if FBA?
