Completely agree. It's a lot easier to relate to what he's saying when you've gone through the same feelings as him. I obviously wasn't ever one of the best players in the country lol but once I moved on from basketball I actually became happier than I was when I was playing. I was able to find something else that made me happy and also fell back in love with basketball once it became a hobby again. I'm sure it's the same thing for him. I can't lie I would like to see him play in the TBT or something like that though lol he's too fun to watch
Think he feels like he underachieved especially since he dropped like 40 on Cole Anthony in High School and looked like the better player in that game. He also played with and against a bunch of current Nba players and held his own so probably feels like he should be in the league too

Me too, but packing up your life and moving across the world to keep playing isn't always the most appealing choice. That overseas grind is A LOT mentally and physically. The option will still be on the table if he wants it though, I'm sure he's got connections with agents that could help him find something

He didn't receive any NBA interest, and that's not a surprise seeing as how he kept testing the waters after every season and would always go back to school but i thought he would go overseas. Sounds like a case of too much hype too soon and letting the internet comments get to him. I know it's a steep hill to climb since he wasn't drafted and he's already 25, but he's currently in his prime, he should have at least given it a year or two on the summer league, g-league, overseas circuit just to see where he really is compared to everyone else, and to improve his game. Everyone's path is not the same, and there have been players who made the NBA years after going undrafted. It's not an easy path but, in the age of social media, the possibilities are endless.
For sure, coming out of high school he seemed to have all the tools to become a NBA level guard. He had a TON of hype and expectations going into his freshman season because of his ranking AND the hype from jellyfam. I think him not getting a major role right away messed with him and then having to sit out for a whole year after that made everything even worse for him. Then once he finally hit a stride with Alabama, he got hurt. I agree, I think he should have kept playing just to give himself an idea of where it could take him but if he wasn't enjoying it anymore then it's really difficult to wake up everyday and pursue that dream. Like you said though with social media there's endless opportunities basketball related or not

He was a redshirt the year he transferred from Nova to Alabama and then everyone that was in college during covid got an extra "covid" year of eligibility
Yes. Everyone at the time was taking bribes though. It was a big deal at the time but it didn't even hurt his recruitment so I don't think it was actually a problem in the eyes of coaches. Just a big deal in the media because the coaches were being heavily investigated and all that. Doubt it played too much of a role honestly

A lot of American players are intimidated with going overseas. It's crazy how many don't give it a more genuine try at least.
