    it’s always difficult growing up without a parent present. and i totally relate with it being weird to see photos, like this person is literally apart of me and i know close to nothing about him. but it does make you appreciate single moms so much more

    my real dad is in prison and my stepdad and mom got divorced, my mom is the best but i’ve always sort of had a rocky relationship with both of my “dads” yk but Im glad you’re being open about it and I hope talking about it helps at least a little. you deserve the best and it wasn’t anything you did

    i lost my dad in summer last year and it feels so weird, to suddenly go through life with such an immensely important person missing.
    what really helps me, is knowing i’m everything but alone with this struggle and knowing there’s so many people who have a similar fate, but kept going, appreciating life and the people around them even more. ♥️

    I agree with you on your mindset of not thinking about what you don’t have and instead being grateful for what you do have. I have always thought like that for either family relations or just small problems i come across and it helps me ground myself in reality

    I have a nonexistent relationship with my mom. She was in my life, but I recently went no contact with her (finally). Anyways, I love hearing when people have great moms. But I also understand having an absent parent.
    Much love from Wisconsin.

    Wow man thank you for being vulnerable and sharing that side of you. I've always wanted to ask but I wasn't sure if you'd be willing to talk about it. Like you said you don't know what you missed because you never had it, but I can definitely see that it pushed you to grow stronger to become who you are today. I love that you love you're family and whenever I see you post about your mom she seems like the loveliest person with the most beautiful smile, which I see is where you got yours. All I can say is that family is definitely worth it and if you ever decide that you do want to reach out you should cause you never know if your dad feels the same way, but is just too afraid to reach out. This is making an assumption tho. I don't know him or his character at all, but if he is willing to talk after you reach out I think its worth a try. Sometimes it just takes being the bigger person to rekindle things. If he doesn't than it is his lost cause you are an amazing person. Anyways I love you and the video and thank you again for sharing this part of you cause I'm sure others will definitely resonate with it. Also hopefully this doesn't come off as pretentious, and sorry if it does.

    See my experience with my dad is similar but also really different to yours, cause I actually used to see him frequently throughout my childhood, he would not show up and disappear a lot tho at the same time. I had both good memories that to be honest I've 'glamourized' (they weren't really good they were just normal experiences) and then bad ones too. I grew up and at 13 I actually decided myself that I didn't want to have a relationship anymore he was very toxic and had a bad relationship with drugs/alcohol. I feel like it's been an ongoing struggle that I've tried to deal with, because I always feel guilty that I had to 'leave' him, and sort of protect myself. But I've been trying to help him for too long, there's only so much you can do :/ But then I'm so lucky because I have a stepdad and I would say he is my father figure. It's weird - I had a dad technically yes, but I didn't even feel safe around him. So it's like a blessing and a curse.
    I feel like with you, cuz you didn't have much memories with your dad, the emotional connection just isn't there maybe and that's the reason it doesn't bother you or you don't think about it as much as others. But In a weird way, I kinda wish i didn't have any memories with my dad because then I wouldn't feel as hurt.

    You’re sincerely inspiring;
    I want to tell you that all along the video you allowed us to “have touch” and feel human; the entire video feels like a memory, a lived one and a living one. Watching you getting in touch with yourself, self-consciousness and who you actually are is beauty, but in your manner, also fun, thank you

    1:23 exactly. This is why whenever I tell people I’m not close to my family, and I don’t feel bad or sad about it, because there was never a bond, love or support to start with my family, or parents. It was more like living with roommates until I left to live on my own at 16. There’s no beef, wish them all the best but I have no connection or emotion to them idk. It’s a strange place to be, to be comfortable in the unfamiliar (word play heheh). So yup. Went back to your videos, inspirational and funny as usual😌⭐️🩵

    Aww, carrington, I met my dad once in HS and was shy. I found him online recently weirdly simple out of the blue. Found out he survived a cancer. He’s getting up there so I will find a way to hopefully connect. Never know what keeps people back, sometimes it’s a simple permission. It might have to be up to you to maybe send an e-holiday card. I found a couple sites that do thru email or make one and text a PNG. We never know how long we have with others.
    I watch some Jordan Peterson and many others here and there.

    I love you Carrington ♥
    It sounds like you have the most healthy perspective on it, that you have found several father figures in your life which is amazing. as well as you reached out to informative videos in high school (Jordan Peterson), you searched for that information to better yourself which is something to be proud of.
    also just because you didn't "have it' or lose it" doesn't mean it isn't something to be upset about, you're perfectly valid for having emotions about it, or none at all. It's a tricky situation, it sounds like he weaved in and out of your life sometimes..
    Like the rest of the comments are saying - it makes you appreciate single moms so much more, your mom is a rockstar.
    I hope you and your family are doing well now ♥
    much love ♥

    To add 1 thing to my last message! The other thing that you do thats so Ukrainian is your cold showers and your courage with cold. Have you ever went to a traditional Russian bath house? 100 % you would love it. They have some crazy ones in Ukraine where you do hot and cold alternations than enduce an natural DMT high. I dont know if they have any traditional ones In LA or if they are more spa like. New york city has a popular one that i love but its not fully authentic ukrainian, and there alot of monkey business going on there. Which is part of the fun going there. Its hot and cold therapy thats entertaining to say in the least. also there a great one in miami in sunny isles. Same Entertaining and relax vibe. nothing beats the authentic ones in ukraine and russia! But in general if you can find a thermal bath house, regardless if it authentic or where its located, its so amazing you walk out feeling reborn each time. and with your ukraine roots, once you start you might not stop. Going to a bania for me is as essential as any other basic need.

    Yes more videos like this. Very wholesome. So did u say why your parents divorced? Why didn’t your father make effort to see u more often? What did your mom say was the reason for the divorce. There seems to be a lot of areas we have not fully identified. Maybe there’s more to the story than u know

    Look Carrington, I realize you wont see this but I feel like you need to be aware that jordan peterson is probably the worst male role model you could look up to; which is unfortunte because a lot of guys seem to fall into this same trap with him. His content is deliberately and carefully constructed, covertly hiding his bigotry in his beliefs by grounding his really stupid claims in supposed psychological and scientific discourse (and leveraging his Ph.D.)

    • @tessmckenna8742
      @tessmckenna8742 2 місяці тому +1

      Here are a few things that are really messed up about him;
      Called the Canadian priminister banning conversion therapy "moral grandstanding."
      Believes that if women wear makeup in the workplace and complain about sexual harassment, they're hypocritical and at fault.
      Straight up doesn't believe in climate science and said: "there is no such thing as climate."
      Believes "that it's necessary for kids to have models [ie. parents] of both sexes." which just isn't true according to actual studies done within both fields of psychology and neuroscience
      Stated that Islamophobia is "a word created by fascists and used... to manipulate morons."
      Believes white privilege is "a Marxist lie."

    • @tessmckenna8742
      @tessmckenna8742 2 місяці тому

      every once and a while he'll say something based on actual science or philosophy but generally he's an ignorant and blatant liar and i dont think he can make up for how stupid he is with a good idea every once and a while - especially when there are actual psychologists and intelligent people in this world that know what they're talking about
