MCT is very whimsy. I am doing the town level next year and probably the last third of Beowulf grammar/Guest Hollow’s LA’s. They have great whimsy fun book suggestions in the LA’s guide for each week too.
@@storybookschoolhouseYes, we are doing Beowulf’s Grammar and Guest Hollow’s Language Arts this year. Then I plan on doing MCT town level next year. I picked up used copies of MCT grammar and sentence island to test out the format. The graphic visuals MCT uses in the grammar book are the best at showing the relationship between the different parts of speech imo. But overall I think Beowulf is definitely more hands on and at times more exciting. My kid thought it was the coolest thing ever to make up his own menu during the adjective section of Beowulf. He took it to his karate class to show others.
We've been underwhelmed by Essentials, but we're sprinkling it in for spelling practice. We did some of the MCT Poodle series alongside LOE D, and I can't recommend it highly enough for grammar. It is so playful, and my son picked up the grammar terms so easily.
That is such helpful insight, thank you! I’ve been worried about investing in Essentials but do appreciate how LOE does spelling. Tough decision. I picked up the first two Poodles and plan to use soon. Thank you for sharing!!❤️
@storybookschoolhouse have you looked at Sequential Spelling? It's pretty inexpensive. You can 100% apply the LOE spelling method to that workbook. I'll send you a picture on IG.
Off topic- I really like your headband. It's vibrant colors drew me in. 🙂 I can't wait to join the journey of how the program worked for you. Thank you for joining our collab. 🌻
I will definitely be following along. I am currently doing LOE Foundations with my six year old and she loves it. We're half way through so I've began looking to see where we will go next.
We try to keep our curriculum secular, as well. While there are a few of their products that won't work for our family in that way, I've been overall pleased with them in that way. Because I'm with you -- I just want to do math or LA or whatever.
Where has your language arts adventures taken you?🤓
Crossroads is such a struggle I totally get it!
Solidarity! Thank you for being here☺️
Excited to hear how your kids like this program! It is so much fun! 😊
I’ll be sure to let you know ❤️
I love the depth of Guest Hollow! Loved hearing your thoughts. ❤❤
Thank you! Thank you for being here!😊

What great insight for comparison! Thank you! Am I understanding that you did Beowulf first then moving onto MCT?
