You could tell that Misha was somewhat taken off guard by that question. But I love him for answering the question with humor even though Jensen and Jared probably would have changed the subject.
Lol he wasn't mad.. he really was just trying not to upset anyone. I mean c'mon he's like a huge destiel shipper haha but I agree, "you're not supposed to talk about it."
the quiet fuck off at the end is b/c it's pretty well known at SPN conventions that shipping/slash/fanfic questions aren't supposed to be asked because the actors have made it clear they wish to talk about the show and not that side of fandom. misha, however, was the best person to ask as jared and jensen would have not responded and questioner probably would have been told to go back to her seat for not following the rules. he has a sense of humor about these things.
Everyone who's seen 10x16 knows that Dean said exactly this: "There's... things, there's... people-feelings that I... I want to experience differently than I have before. Or maybe even for the first time. I'm just starting to think that there's more to it all that I thought." If you say that this isn't at least hinting to Dean being at least Bi, your wrong. Hoping its for Cas.
Cassandra Badkidz Exactly! When I first heard that I was trying not to read too much into it and tried to figure out what else would Dean by that, but nothing other than him being in love with Cas makes sense.
Ava! On UA-cam Ik that you commented this three years ago, but I’m just gonna day that I just sat here for like 8 minutes going through every possibility and literally could come up with nothing that made as much sense as that. BUT I CANT SHIP IT...just read fanfics even tho I seriously don’t even ship this bc it won’t happen and...twist*cry* and shout 😂😂what am I even doing with my life
I truly do not understand why asking about slash pairings is such a big deal. Actually I do, it's because of homophobia. Not saying Misha is homophobic or calling anyone in particular homophobic, but the fact that this is a heterosexist society where discussing the possibility of queer relationships on TV shows is taboo. There's never this much controversy about straight pairings, canon or not. It's ridiculous. I understand Misha's reluctance to talk about it because no matter what he says he's gonna piss someone off and that's never a fun position, but we need to be able to talk about queerness like it's not a fucking disease.
Now, I'm not in the SPN fandom, so I don't know a thing about the actors' track record with this question and the way the actors are answering it, but would the fear of pissing someone off be the only reason not to give a straight answer? (pun unintended). If I understand correctly, there's plenty of subtext for Destiel in the show - enough for the pairing, in the sexual sense, to be both a believable one and highly popular in the fandom, which is all well and good*. But that's what this is, subtext. They may have all the chemistry in the world, the pairing (at last to my knowledge) hasn't been confirmed or infirmed, be it in-universe or outside of it, by words of the writers... As such, the cast members cannot say anything. Notice that the girl asked how Castiel _really felt_ about Dean, not how the actor himself felt about the possibility of a relationship. As long as their relationship stays open to interpretation in the show itself, pretty sure there is just no definite way for an actor to answer that. Now, with that being said, I pretty much agree with your general stance- querness shouldn't be Such A Big Deal. I don't watch a lot of TV, but I'm into video games, and some of the controversies regarding LGBT and exposure lately had me believing we'd gone back in time several decades on the topic. Hopefully, people and the media are evolving and coming to terms with the idea that being gay doesn't make people special or different from others, and that homosexual relationships should be treated the same way as heterosexual ones. (* or raises some pretty uncomfortable questions regarding queerbaiting, depending of the way you see it.) As I said, I'm not in the fandom, and everything I know about it is second-hand- so forgive me if my view is incomplete or misinformed, and please feel free to fill me in. :)
MrsHalloweenJack Yeah, I get what you mean about him not being able to say a definite "yes" or "no". My problem is the comments on here that say things like "oh my god why do they ask these questions it's so annoying". It bothers me when people, the actors and fans, get squicked by the slightest mention of possible queerness. I don't need a definite answer, I just want an open environment where everyone can share and discuss their opinions, queer as they may be, without hostility. :)
Emily Activist Ok, I see what you're coming from - and that's a perfectly legitimate thing to ask for. Hopefully the media and mentalities will keep moving in the right direction in that regard, so that this reaction becomes the exception, not the rule!
Emily Bellor Hi although I agree with you on sexual equality, I think classic yaoi [the original stuff that came from Japan] is a celebration and expression of female sexuality. Slash fiction was defined as stories written by women for women about men. The reason I would like to see this idea preserved is because women don't have any other form of sexual expression. Our fellow gay writer of Destial...[and lesbian writers, would you believe] write in a way that express their sexual likes, needs and wants. Slash fiction was never meant to be literature that supports homosexuality. I think we need a stronger arena for serious topics like that. I would prefer that Yaoi be kept in the female domain. On this topic, I think if any of the boys bothered to learn the answer to the question ''what is a slash fan?'' they would not be fumbling for answers. Because proper yaoi is actually a love letter [albeit an explicit one] from fandom to the show. That being said, slashers should ask the boys slash-related questions for one simple reason. The boys have zero involvement. They don't write it. They don't go through scenes keeping their 'pairings' in mind. They really don't know how to answer. The best person to speak about slash fiction is beautiful little Osric. He is very encouraging of slash fiction. And he doesn't blush easily. Remember, Jensen blushes at the mere mention of sex and nudity scenes that he might have done. So its not just about slash. Its about whatever catches these fine men off guard.
Lol! He handled it really well. He has a pretty damn good sense of humour. :P I'm not a fan of slash, and I don't really see it with Dean and Cas (as Dean is very much into women, and I see him and Cas as brothers, every bit as much as Sam is to Dean). But, of my fandoms, it's probably the one pairing that scares me the least. It still disturbs me, but maybe it's not the idea of them together, but rather the way it's written that has that effect; I'm not homophobic. (As so many yaoi/slash fans wrongly assume, just because someone doesn't like it, doesn't mean their homophobic; hence why I have to stress the fact that I'm not). Anyway, loved Misha's way of handling the question. Loved the example he gave as well. Cas, Dean, and pie? Gee, I wonder where this is going.... XD
There's just a warm and tingly feeling that you get when the object of your slashing says the word "slash"... we enjoyed that a few times back in the LOTR days. Oh, fandom. I heart thee.
I've been watching videos of misha all evening, and I have never laughed as hard as I have in these last few hours. My face hurts from smiling. He is just an amazing person.
Alala, il me fera toujours rire Misha! ^^ C'est vraiment dommage que je sois pas billingue parce que qu'est-ce que j'en rate des vidéos hilarantes! Merci pour cette traduction! :D
Why is it so Tabu on talking about fanfiction? If the actors doesn't mind it then why are people embaressed for them? I Think that when fans ask about fanfiction to actors it's more about geting to now the actors. To get to know if the actors knows how mutch the fans love them and that the actors is interested in what the fans Think. Asking a question about fanfiction and geting to see how the actors react also give the fans an insite to what kind of person the actor is. Is he/she open minded or is he/she offended by fanfiction. Thinks like that can make a fan change the way he/she feels about the actor. So I say: Ask away. I want to know too!
Ambij Yes, in a way there is at least one fic that has that pairing and it's on fanfiction.net. Look under tv then go to Supernatural. There is a filter button at the top of the stories, click it and then select the rating M (fairly explicit). Once you do that, select the characters for the pairing however, there is no Misha so you'll need the first character as Castiel and the second character as Dean. I can't recall the name of the fic but it has to do with the episode "The French Mistake". It's one of the hottest fics and it has Castiel and Misha paired together.
@TimbreWuulf Castiel's "role" as Dean's guardian and helper angel was original supposed to belong to Anna. Everyone just loved Castiel and Misha Collins so much that the character grew.
+spookybanana i think the "f**k off" was him playing as the people who didn't want to talk about "the private thing they do about him" would say. it's not directed at the audience.
***** you kinda have to follow the whole conversion in this video to get the idea but i'll try my best to explain. Part of the audience didn't want Misha to talk about slash fiction because that was something they do in private (writing fan/slash fic) even though Misha and some other actors were the topic of said fictions. Misha was insinuating (or at least that's what i think he was doing) the attitudes of those fans when he mentioned fan fictions.
Best part about fictional characters is that though they have implied orientations (or for Cas probably a lack there of considering it is only his vessel which is male), until they come right out and say it who knows? And they do play the fan girls, like at the end of the Supernatural convention episode, or when someone( i think Meg or Crowley) called Dean, Cas's boyfriend.

It's ok. I've been there. It's one of the many facets of fan culture. Infinite Diversities and Infinite Combinations.
I was reading a fanfic once that started out all cutesie and such until later on in the chapter....let's just say used the pie for more than just eating...O.O
"Is that not weird though? We're not supposed to talk about it. Well I don't have anything really to say about it, but still, people will get upset: 'It's a private thing that we do about you!' " Ha ha, Misha is fab.

Someone can explan me, please... Quelqu'un peut me l'expliquer, s'il-vous-plait :)
I'm really glad that Misha called out the people who start kicking up a fuss about slash when *he's* okay talking about it. I mean, come on, shouldn't he be the one to decide whether he wants to answer a question or not?
The FANS can discuss about it as much as they want, among themselves, it's just that it seems weird to a lot of people if the ACTORS talk about the fic.
Hypothetically speaking, if you're interested in reading a Dean/Cas/Pie fanfic, I wrote one which is here on fanfiction dot just search: "Dean/Cas/Pie (English Version) Si vous êtes intéressé(e)s par une fanfic en français Dean/Cas/Pie, j'en ai écrite une qui se trouve sur fanfiction net, cherchez juste: "Dean/Cas/Pie"
You could tell that Misha was somewhat taken off guard by that question. But I love him for answering the question with humor even though Jensen and Jared probably would have changed the subject.

"dean/cas/pie" lol
lol XD
Can we point out the fact that he quoted the pizza man ?
'We're not supposed to talk about it.'
Sorry, I'm such a fangirl. x)
Yass
"It haunts the back of my mind that it exists." Lol

No slash fiction is weird
I looked it up. I hoped it wouldn't be a thing but...there's a fic on archiveofourown that has Dean/Cas/Pie. What the hell fandom? What the Hell?!
Have you *seen* the Harry Potter fandom?! I think I drew the line at Ron/Giant Squid.
Lol! He handled it really well. Wow how great ! Someone subtitled it just for me :D whoever it is thank you very much

C'est vraiment dommage que je sois pas billingue parce que qu'est-ce que j'en rate des vidéos hilarantes!
Merci pour cette traduction! :D
Did he... MENTION THE PIE FANFIC?!
Well he said "Dean/Cas/pie"
Destipie is like the cutest word ever.

livejournal, fanfiction, archiveofourown... so many places, such little time.
He's flawless. FLAWLESS.
Do you reckon he knows that Cas/Misha fics exist?...
Ambij ooooo gonna search it now 😝
Ambij he does! He posted one on his Twitter a couple months back. It was pure smut from the get go too! Lol
...what? Oo
Ambij pARDON
Ambij Yes, in a way there is at least one fic that has that pairing and it's on fanfiction.net. Look under tv then go to Supernatural. wow he brings up a valid point "its weird that we're not supposed to talk about it"
OMG I FORGOT HOW MUCH I LOVE HIM!!!
OMG His voice is so different! I just realized I've only heard him on the show
Merci pour la traduction.
This is why we love Misha.
I just love how he added pie to the situation hahaha
I love how he was avoiding the question.
Did he say "subtext""But ya can't spell subtext without S E X"
"It's a private thing that we do about you." Fanfic in a nut shell.
@TimbreWuulf Castiel's "role" as Dean's guardian and helper angel was original supposed to belong to Anna. Everyone just loved Castiel and Misha Collins so much that the character grew.
Misha is so adorable
i would love to see a video of him reading a slash fic
"It's our private thing that we do... about you." fanfiction in words
"It's an inside joke which only the people in this room are in on."
Those people and the internet, my friend.
Heh it does, you're right. This video makes me laugh but you can see how Misha is a bit tired, and still he makes jokes about it, what a great guy...
I just love Misha.
He's coming back as a guest star, like in the beginning....
THIS IS WHY I LOVE MISHA COLLINS
right! i've read plenty of destiel but there never seems to be pie in it... gotta go find some!
sometimes misha seems really chill about it and other times he's like 'fuck off' like at 2:10. is he joking? no one will ever know
I thought that was harsh. on the other hand I couldn't hear the rest of what he was saying.
I will never look at pie the same way again.
yea i've recently gotten into Destiel fics and wing!kink was the first stuff i saw... i like it, but it is apparently very popular :)
Dean/Cas/Pie... this really made my day! LOL
Well I read a short story about Gabriel/Dean/Marshmallows. LMAO
Misha is great! xD
This is freaking HILAROUS!!!
"It's not wrong, it's just weird."
The entire Supernatural fandom in one sentence. :)
omg there IS Dean/Cas/Pie XDDDDDDD Bless Misha's heart for being so good with that kind of stuff
I like the last bit where he says:" This is a private thing that we do, about you." followed by the incredulous face he pulls - Why shouldn't we talk about it lol
They know it's there, we know it's there - it all works :P
I must go find this NOW!
i just love misha
It's ok. I've been there. I totally love Destiel, and I swear sometimes i truly think the script writers are intentionally trying to play the fangirls, but it's really annoying when people take characters that as far as anyone can tell have non-specified orientation, and then give them the orientation they want - even if it seems out of character.
I understand how crummy it can feel when your words come out wrong. It's really frustrating. Don't worry about it.
I've been in fandom 30 years, attending conventions, meeting actors, and only ONCE did I encounter a situation where a celeb was upset over slash (turns out he was in the closet at the time and feared for his career). Otherwise, even Nimoy and Shatner know about Kirk/Spock. The only people who REALLY freak out are the fans, like it's some kind of nasty taboo of shame. And it shouldn't be. It's one of the many facets of fan culture. Infinite Diversities and Infinite Combinations.
"It's a private thing. That we do. About you"
I'm sure fanfiction dt net will provide the hypothetical seeker with needed fics.
some of the girls really didnt understand when he was saying not to talk about it, it must have been frustrating for him
I was reading a fanfic once that started out all cutesie and such until later on in the chapter....let's just say used the pie for more than just eating...O.O
"Is that not weird though? We're not supposed to talk about it. Well I don't have anything really to say about it, but still, people will get upset: 'It's a private thing that we do about you!' "
Ha ha, Misha is fab.
I will never look at cas and dean the same ever again
I officially love this guy XD
"This is our private thing, that we do...about you."
lol so much truth. I wanted to hear his opinion too. I hope someone asks him again. :P
They are hot and we love the characters, but there are two ways to look at this.
One way is that the people who write these fics believe that there is chemistry between the two characters. So much so, that it may as well be canon.
The second way is that they are so frustrated by the fact that they can't have them and so move onto the next best thing; the characters that share 'a more profound bond'.
Hope you now understand the minds of my people! :)
yes "It's a private thing that we do... about you."
Woohoo! XD That is too great! Oh, Misha is so funny. :)
Man, when Misha Collins says something is weird you know it's crazy lol
@onetouchspark I know, but I downloaded the video from your channel so I figured I ought to put your name as well :) I put the other link too. I just don't want any trouble from downloading videos from other channels.
"it's our private thing that we do about you" *face* skvhjaks
The weirdest is that Misha thinks nobody talk about slashs, while we actually do. A lot.
ohmygod
Did anybody else notice him say really quitely at the end 'fuck off''
:( i donne like it when Misha is upset, and it just makes it arkward between Jensen and him, questions like this shouldnt really be asked. It also puts a lot of pressure of the writers too
He said that and I was like "Misha, don't be silly. That's silly. You're silly. Misha." except that THEY ARE REAL.
'' Dean/Cas/pie'' 😂😂😂😂😂
I laughed so hard at "Dean/Cas/pie". I got strange looks from people. Now I feel compelled to go find some Destpie (not sure if that is what it's really called) fics!
it's mainly cause season 8 is now entirely just Destiel everywhere. It's gotten hard to tell between what's canon and what's fanfiction...
''It could upset some people in the room!''
''WHO CARES!?''
Can't stop laughing !
Fanfiction is kind of like fight club. No one talks about it, and yet people know it exists.
Dean/Cas/Pie?! HOW HAVE I NOT READ ANY OF THIS
i just realised that the one on youtube isnt the full version. i cant find the full audio version on tumblr. sorry. :(
@SilverWalker56 I think he was just saying that slash fiction exists, and that it's maybe a bit silly to deny it/tell the people it's actually written about to not mention it.
He's so accurate... *dies quietly*
HE KNOWS!!!!! ABORT MISSION!!! ABORT. MISSION!!!!
I didn't very very understand why talking about that can chock someone? Or the line that he can't pass... or something like that. ///// J'ai pas trop trop compris c'est quoi l'affaire que parler de Dean et Castiel peut choquer quelqu'un, ou l'affaire de la barrière qu'il peut pas dépasser... Someone can explan me, please... Quelqu'un peut me l'expliquer, s'il-vous-plait :)
THANK YOU!
I'm really glad that Misha called out the people who start kicking up a fuss about slash when *he's* okay talking about it. I mean, come on, shouldn't he be the one to decide whether he wants to answer a question or not?
hypothetically speaking of course....
...for science...yes.
"it's a private thing we do...about you" LOL
i actually read one. don't know where to find it anymore but it excists!
"this private thing we do, about you" *face* "fuck off" hahahaha oh misha :')
That Dean/Cas/Pie story is so weird... Anyway, I'm surprised Misha knew about that! He really knows his minions.
The FANS can discuss about it as much as they want, among themselves, it's just that it seems weird to a lot of people if the ACTORS talk about the fic.
Hence, the sad little Destiel fan. That is me. :D
Every fandom ever in one sentence.
someone made an audio version of destpie fanfic. its somewhere on tumblr and absolutely hilarious!
I imagined something like that when Misha mentioned it XD or something like, using the pie as a lubricant... no, no i don't want to visualise that
Hypothetically speaking, if you're interested in reading a Dean/Cas/Pie fanfic, I wrote one which is here on fanfiction dot just search: "Dean/Cas/Pie (English Version)
Si vous êtes intéressé(e)s par une fanfic en français Dean/Cas/Pie, j'en ai écrite une qui se trouve sur fanfiction net, cherchez juste: "Dean/Cas/Pie"
