This project has everything. From leather and wood and metal, and i think you used every tool in your shop. You just kicked it up a notch. I bow to you.

As always, I enjoy watching you create. This project was especially interesting with the combination of leather and wood. The addition of the dragon’s scale for the outside of the purse in combination with the dragon engraved on the side was a perfect match. When you were putting the sipper in, was thinking of a jig I made of a small bloc with the width and depth of the sipper positioned the right distance from the side of the block to keep the material exactly where I want it to stay without a lot of excess measurements. You can also have a different with measurement on the other side of the block. It would be an easy build with your router. And. You can make several in different lengths. 😊 just thought I would share. 👍 Thank you sharing your unique talents. 😎
Thanks! That's an interesting idea about the zipper jig. I normally just eyeball the glue by using the pattern on the zipper tape (the backing material).
Another beautiful piece! One request though can you begin to include the types and weights of the materials you're using? But as always the quality of your items is outstanding.
Great work like always. 2 question i have. 1. When you used your manual hand drill. How deep did you go for the tacks? 2 what was that you put in the brush on the end?
Thank you! I was kinda eyeballing the depth. Once I got through the leather and wood shavings started showing up I knew it was a few more pushes with the drill. I've learned you can't just hammer the tacks like nails without drilling pilot holes first; they're not strong enough. Otherwise there's too much chance they'll go in crooked and damage the leather. That's Renaissance Wax I'm putting on the brush. This particular printed leather will take a high-gloss shine (I used it to make a 1911 holster in one of my previous videos) but didn't want this piece to be super-glossy. So I just added a little.
The plate you use under your punches for stitching, is it like cutting board material? Lexan or something like it? Is it felt? I got a better look in another view.
FYI, pushing the laser head around like that isn't a great idea. Motors are also great generators, and pushing the head around that fast can generate enough electricity to fry the stepper drivers and/or controller. If you must push it out of the way, do it slower. I've owned and actually built my own 3d printer, and people are always warned not to do that.

It's a Japanese "Oka Factory" punch board. I first learned about them from Black Flag Leather's UA-cam channel.

It's something Tandy Leather used to sell. Not sure if you can still buy it. I bought this hide more than a year ago.

I've always used contact cement when gluing leather, what is the white glue that you are using?
Contact cement!
It's a water based contact cement.
