My pleasure. Yes, get it out!! Thankfully it’s an easy adjustment and you can have your tech look it over real quick when it goes in for service. Thanks for watching.
Good afternoon, tell me, does the tee in the form of a Y let in air? Or just as a plug for each hose? Is it possible to simply plug all the hoses with bolts? Or should the air circulate through the tee? It would be nice if you could help
Hello, to my understanding, the “y” connector is for the overflow. It doesn’t let in air, but is the recirculation of fuel. By placing the “y”, your overflow now vents into the atmosphere, which is why you may experience a stronger smell of gas when the bike sits. I’m not sure what the other 2 hoses do. I believe my tech completely removed one at the 600mi service, due to it not having a purpose and the other is sitting blocked off. All of the Ducati techs around here are familiar with removing the EVAP, so you may be able to call one of yours and get answers to any more in-depth questions you have. I hope this helps, thanks for watching, and keep the rubber side down. Twinkle twinkle.
@@1takewonder33 I would love to find out from a Ducati dealer, but I live in Kyrgyzstan and here I have one bike like this for the whole country, so I want to do everything myself and try to get all the useful information. It turns out a Y-shaped adapter, it is not muffled, it passes fuel through one channel ( return ) and the others are already muffled ?
@@samsonov.a.i Gotcha. Not sure what you mean by “muffled,” but yes the “y” is what was your recirculation line, which will vent into the atmosphere upon connection. @@dute007Hey mate, I didn’t have any issues or mess with any block off plates in that area. Everything you see in the video is what I did in totality. When I took the bike in for its 600mi service I asked the tech to look at it, and he said everything was done correctly. Hope that helps.
Yes, you will need to cut the hose apart (the one into which you’ll be connecting the hose from the canister). You’ll also need to cut some of that hose off to make it straight. The 2 hoses you cap off, you won’t have to cut. What I did was line up the hose, which is getting “y-ed” into the other hose and cut off most of the excess. I left a little bit in case I had to go back. The main concern was making sure I didn’t snap a plastic “y” fitting. If you tighten the clamp around the “y” fitting too tight, it may snap. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching.

Since you have done this has any check engine light come on. And also have you notices any difference in the bike at all as far as being able to start or running better ?
Hello. When I had it in for the break-in service, the tech stated I did everything correctly and it was an easy go-over for him. No lights or issues, just the peace of mind that the bike won’t vapor lock, and I wont be stranded somewhere. Thanks for watching.
Hi I have a question: my problem sometimes is bad hot start….cold start is perfect bike working perfect nothing else just sometimes after riding I stop on drink or to fuel up and when I start my bike start so badly like almost shuts off itself and then come alive again in 10sec something liek that…so I do some research and find that is probably that charcoal canoster making that bad hot start that ppl are removed and have wonderful life…..do I need some Canister Eliminator or what shoO do….anybody some info!? Thank you…..❤
Hi - You have a couple options, assuming your proximate cause is the charcoal canister, which it sounds like it is; due to vapor locking. There are eliminator kits on the market, if you want to spend the money and do it yourself. The kits, to my understanding, will have you remove all the unnecessary pieces- hoses, canister, etc. Your other option, which may be a bit more cost effective, is to do it yourself by removing the canister, blocking off the unneeded hoses, and then securing them so they’re not flopping around- as is what this video presents. After completing the removal, I had my Ducati tech look it over at the 600mi service. He stated all was good, and he actually removed the unnecessary hose I had blocked off (don’t ask me which one that was.). He said it took him 5mins, so there wasn’t an additional charge. When I had my 1299S it would either shut down while underway, or refuse to start after riding during a warm summer’s day. I removed the canister and it hasn’t happened since. I hope that helps, and thanks for watching.
