Glad you finally got to drive it😁I remember thr feeling of driving my 2L 8v for the first time after all the headaches! Coilies are not as bad as people say , I'm driving on JOM Redlines car drives really well.
Jamie the gear ratios sounds about normal 3OOOrmp in 5th on a 100km/h.
Those ffz gearboxes are awesome jn town for stop go drives but as soon
as u go on the highway u drive 120 at like 4000rpm so u got to take the good with the bad
My guess is 100kw. She is perfectly done, just need rims, coilovers and a few things to be buttoned up (and probably a name too), but well done!
Decent power figures.. Could you give a rough price breakdown of the motor build for someone who might go a similar route
3500 at 120 km car does not suffer because it runs at ease your foot is only touching the exelerator pedal if you make the ratios longer like 3000rpm in 5th at 130 kmh then its going to eat the fuel especialy when getting slight hills and youl have to put your foot all the way down when overtaking i 5th with short ratio like you have you can overtake with ease in 5th
nice build Jamie happy for you bud maybe check your vernier pulley for the cam timing for the low rpm jerks . and maybe also swop for a 5 gearbox but all is perfect was really happy to see her moving on her own power i love these little cars
Nice build I'm glad it finally came together...change the 5th gear it's currently running at the same revs at 120kmph as a 1.4 corsa utility

Nice gear ratios, fit 15inch wheels or a taller tire on either 14s or 15s to counter the ratios. Makes it longer.

Eish the wheel spin....my project mk1 has a 16v kr build with throttles cams pistons and so on at Jody making 132.9 kw an 189nm...the rattles gives it character I would say but congratulations now you just need to iron out the loose ends

golf looks and sounds good also have one 2e block knife crank 288 estas head job,flow job and pistons done i have the same problem with gears ive got a dgg box and i redline at 205kmh 5th gear. i will be doing an 5th gear change soon that will alow me too drive at lower rpm open road. it does chow petrol on the open road as my speedo is the same position as the rpm so driving like 140kmh its a bit too high on the rev side for me but great vids man enjoy

5:19 choppy choppy....106kw is strong for a golf they weigh next to nothing leave the skinny wheels on so you can keep spinning like that.
It does feel lekker to spin so easily 😂 but need some meat for traction on the track
