I got a low grade in my structure in English and it suck. My friends got grades higher than mine but they cheer me up and said to me that it's okay, I can improve my self next semester. And after that I brush it off.

Absolutely it has happened to me as the most people as possible when I assumed/supposed to study hard in English and Arabic languages inadvertently my grandparents*i literally can’t remember which side of my parents mother or father* and I didn’t really want to do anything unless English and Arabic but unfortunately it happened inadvertently but I had to arise with the situation/circumstate as well as possible and of course everyone should cross that bridge when they come to it and stop and smell the roses it’s the main point which assists us to be incessant and continuing /persist at any terrible and horrible situations we won’t nag and argue about every single things we should choose our battle and negotiate with the things that are problematic CHEERS FROM KURDISTAN
As for me, honestly, I can't manage the initial sense of worry when something happens accidentaly and I always forget about everything and try to focus on the solution of this problem first. Sometimes I can be even angry and stressed. And only then I solve the problem I'm able to relax and make things go on further. Therefore, it is really tough to brush difficulties off and return things to where they have been.
i had to change my major for some personal grounds and at first i didn't want to but what could i do ? nothing , absolutely nothing , crying was not going to solve my problems or anything so i had to brush it off and kept going , now I'm studying another thing and I'm even happier .

eslam ali I think I understand your questions... The two grammar questions are "have eaten" and "have been eating"? The first one we can use to describe something that is finished.
For example, "I've eaten all the cake, so there's none left for you." I am finished eating the cake, so I used "have+'en" (or present perfect simple).
And the second one, "I have been eating cake all day, so now I feel a little sick." This is a continuous action that might not be finished yet. Maybe I'm still eating the cake now! So I used "have+been+ 'ing" (or the present perfect continuous).

I remember now an episode when my brother, not intentionally, wiped out all of his files saved on our desktop computer. Most files weren't so important, but he got mad trying to recover them. I could say "brush it off!" before help him, but I didn't know this expression, yet. I'll do next time. :D

Ovilton Carlos Yes, pizza for dinner isn't so bad! :) The story about your brother is a great example of when to use "brush it off." If something ever happens again like that (hopefully not!), you can tell the person to brush it off. :)
