People becoming the best grants(this is league of LEGENDS not normies) them the ability to have a bigger ego cause they are better than most people in terms of fighting. And how was she that disrespectful? Here are her lines to Shen: 1 "You prune the tree. Im going to pull some weeds." (first encounter) 2 "Twilight falls" (kills Shen) 3 "No more rules" (attacks Shen) 4 "This must be done" (attacks Shen) 5 "Our wills do not allign" (attacks Shen) 6 "This is necessary" (attacks Shen) 7 "Time for you to learn" (attacks Shen) So lines 1,4,5,6,7 are about the disagreement between Shen and akali with how they believe balance should be handled. Line 2 is about the eye of twilight (Shen) dying, so to me that seems appropriate (also could show how Shen dying makes his beliefs weak. And line number 3 is about Akali not being a part of the Kinkou. If the line themselves are disrespectful because they disagree then your claim is faulty. Because akali never shows disrespect to Shen. She shows disagreement in ideology. Now of course one can be disrespectful in other ways like body language and tone. and we can rule out body language because the special interactions never really reflect body language and it is now shown here. Next is tone which I believe can be seen as aggressive, but I believe this is explained by akali taking part in physical activities(it is difficult to punch and stab a person effectively while speaking in a cutesy tone) in 6 out of the 7 lines. And your final point about her design showing her a a rebellious teenager instead of a wandering assassin i also disagree with. I dont believe her line show rebellious teenager characteristics whether it be the disagreement with Shen, or the contempt with Zed, or the annoyance with Jhin because the lore gives reasonable reasons for her relationships with these characters. I believe another characteristic of the rebellious teen is being rebellious for the reason of being rebellious which is not represented in Akali. She has her reason for disagreeing with Shen about how balance should be created. Akali having seen the Kinkou fall to Zed believes that Shen continuing the Kinkou the same way before is insane and will not help Ionia. I am not saying Akali reasoning is correct or right but rather that her reasons are indeed reasonable. Also the wandering warrior fits her better because though she has decided she disagrees agrees with Shen for the time being. She has not eliminated the Kinkou from her life forever. And as far i understand it, she is still trying to find her definition of balance. But thats just my take. Agree, disagree, or respond if you would like to add anything else!

I love the art style and new abilities for Akali. But holy hell riot, all the female characters feel like they are written the same! I was really hoping that Akali would have a different character type than be the "Badass who doesn't want to obey any rules". Like does every character have to be that way? Sometimes it feels like riot only knows how to write two characters, the super edgy character or the super over the top character. STOP WITH THE EDGE RIOT PLEASE.
Miku Meeku I like irelia she just sassy, like poppy, all sass and class. Unlike Akali who edgy. Here the difference between edge and sass. Irelia is sassy because she maybe a of a come back with insults she not all that hard, for example she actually considereds asking riven to help her. That's not edgy. Where Akali has gone full edgy, chat up kayn the edgelord and makes edgy remarks. It's all to do with the kindness to other champs. For example kai'sa is ironically a daughter who has a dad still alive yet the jokes for daddy issues where missed. Like I would expect the personality of Akali rework on kai'sa and expect the personaity of kai'sa on Akali. Like for real she screams daddy issues so much. I can already here her yelling at Shen is not a phase dad. Where kai'sa I can she going out for a fine wine as a family with Kassidin, Sivir, azir and nasus and having a laugh. That differnce.

UPDATE: They're reverting the changes, so we're keeping these voice lines :) Compared to her new VA, I find Krizia's VO to be much better suited for the role. Not saying that Ashley Burch isn't a good voice actor but the direction which her voiceovers where taken don't feel like Akali. This Akali has a certain venom and a sharp confidence in the manner which she speaks that the current one fundamentally lacks. Edit: I fucked up by writing Bailey instead of Krizia. Just to clarify, Bailey was her OG voice actor, Krizia is this one and Burch is her star guardian va.

Bruh does Riot have some unknown fetish with edgifying every rework/new character that comes out to a certain degree then throwing away the old personality and persona that made the character special into the trash. It feels like they don't even care enough for the personality of a champion, so they copy and paste the same garbage attitude onto each one so they can release it as soon as possible. Like don't get me wrong, kit is fantastic but for the love of God can you make us feel like you actually put some effort into their personas... Like it's just sad to see that they couldn't care less about the section of the League Community that appreciates the personalities and characteristics of champions. Take A. Sol for example, such a well designed character and really stands out. When he was released he was known as the "sassy dragon" for his voice lines and ego. Another great example is Ivern for his aloofness and the fact that he is always acting airheaded. This is what makes champions feel special and unique, when their personality goes hand in hand with their kit. Sorry for rant just sick and tired of the lack of quality in the personas currently. Gone are the days when Riot truly cared about how a champ shines in the roster and uniqueness...

Compared to her new VA, I find Krizia's VO to be much better suited for the role. Not saying that Ashley Burch isn't a good voice actor but the direction which her voiceovers where taken don't feel like Akali.
This Akali has a certain venom and a sharp confidence in the manner which she speaks that the current one fundamentally lacks.
Edit: I fucked up by writing Bailey instead of Krizia. Just to clarify, Bailey was her OG voice actor, Krizia is this one and Burch is her star guardian va.

Shen in lore is one of the strongest ionians, if not the strongest. Akali is really strong and good, but if not even Zed was able to kill Shen (he could detect and block Zed when he tried to kill Shen), i doubt Akali could.
So they aged her down, gave her a mediocre voice, made her personality into an edgy rebellious teen, and had her leave the Kinkou? Who's bright idea was this?

Her old personality about being calm and collected was boring and not in Akali's character, Akali is ruthless, that's what she's supposed to be. She left the Kinkou because she disagrees with Shen's ideals or something, but they left in good terms. In my opinion, Akali's like Irelia but in a twisted way.

Bruh does Riot have some unknown fetish with edgifying every rework/new character that comes out to a certain degree then throwing away the old personality and persona that made the character special into the trash. It feels like they don't even care enough for the personality of a champion, so they copy and paste the same garbage attitude onto each one so they can release it as soon as possible. Like don't get me wrong, kit is fantastic but for the love of God can you make us feel like you actually put some effort into their personas... Like it's just sad to see that they couldn't care less about the section of the League Community that appreciates the personalities and characteristics of champions.
Take A. Sol for example, such a well designed character and really stands out. When he was released he was known as the "sassy dragon" for his voice lines and ego.
Another great example is Ivern for his aloofness and the fact that he is always acting airheaded. This is what makes champions feel special and unique, when their personality goes hand in hand with their kit.
Sorry for rant just sick and tired of the lack of quality in the personas currently. Gone are the days when Riot truly cared about how a champ shines in the roster and uniqueness...
