  • An Army Public Realtions promotional short on Australians serving with the British Commonwealth Occupation Force (BCOF). Foreward 'The soldiers of the British Commonwealth Occupation Force in Japan have established a reputation second to none. Their military bearing and the excellence of their behaviour have contributed much to the success of the Occupation.     My father, Jack Wilfred Barnes QX53779 was in Japan with the BCOF until 1947.

      My grandfather Paul Cedric Musto was there at the same time. Wonder if they crossed paths ...

    Great to see. The BCOF is a largely forgotten part of the end of the war. These men and women deserve to have their efforts acknowledged.

    My uncle was there with the 10th bomb disposal. He was killed in 1947 and had been awarded the George Medal.

    Puts to shame the rabble we have today. Real men. With all the recent atrocities committed by Australian troops/forces overseas is shameful. What happened to this integrity and dedication & pride?
