when i try to open the ABA file, it is asking me what APP do I want to open it with. What app do I select? My other job many years ago, I was able to open the ABA file. I tried opening with with notepad, and now it's save the ABA file as a notepad file.

Hi Ardelia, you don't open up the ABA file itself. Just go into your online banking, then select UPLOAD ABA FILE or IMPORT PAYMENT FILE or something similar to that, then select the ABA file from wherever you downloaded it to. That should do it.

Hi, do you need NAB connect to upload ABA files to NAB account or can it be done directly from everyday internet banking?

I don't use NAB everyday internet banking but I know that ABA files can be uploaded to the everyday versions of the other banks - CBA, ANZ etc, so it should be doable.

    Hi,
Do you know how to reconcile this one in the bank feed- can you please tell me about the general ledger account as well.
Because we outsourced our payroll system, they gave us an aba file to upload in the bank account. Once we have done that process the next step is bank feed reconciliation. Multiple employee salaries come together so I can't allocate one separate employee account what we did before when doing payroll ourselves.

Hi Gayathri, this will come through on the bank feed as a lump sum for the total payroll or all the pays that were included on the ABA file. You then simply reconcile the full amount to the Wages Payable account or whatever your payroll clearing account is called.
