What you’re saying might be true, and it’s essential for believers to understand the difference between what’s canonical inspired, and other texts. The Book of Jasher isn’t presented here as Scripture. At most, the Book of Enoch, which is referenced in Holy Scripture, holds some merit, and both texts can be used to point to spiritual truths. This teaching flows from that perspective. The reference to Jasher should be taken as an analogy, similar to how pastors use current events, personal stories, or well-known illustrations to make a point. Jasher’s depiction of Enoch highlights the truth that a life set apart, in opposition to the world, produces spiritual results. That is what this sermon is seeking to deposit in your spirit: the yearning to be overshadowed and dwell with the Almighty through wisdom, understanding, and consecration.
@DaggerGautlet why quote a peudographical book which we have no idea where its origins are from. The book of Enoch was found(atleast fragments) in the dead sea scrolls which would attest to its history but the Jasher was literally written in the 18th century. The layman Christian would literally have no idea about this and shouldn't take that book as authentic
@@asdiciple I’ve often heard pastors reference peer-reviewed articles, share unverifiable personal stories, or use thought experiments to illustrate their points. While all things are permissible, not all things are profitable. In this instance, using Jasher to highlight Enoch’s consecration is profitable because it reinforces the core message. It’s wise to question what’s being referenced; not everything should be considered fair game for a sermon. However, instead of dismissing something outright due to religious biases, we could ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and evaluate the fruit of the message being preached. Ultimately, the takeaway here is the message of consecration-loving Jesus above all else. If that’s the result, then the means, even if not deeply rooted in church tradition, can still be considered profitable.
@@DaggerGautlet the problem is that this book is not even close to bring peer reviewed. Also sharing an experience and quoting a pseudographical book are 2 different things. But ofcourse that will inturn make you lose credibility.
@@DaggerGautlet as someone who comes from the Pentecostal background myself, I am not dismissing the message. My concern is rooted in our what has been happening in the movement from its inception. Adopting non-canonical writings is not a new thing and can be dates back even to the docetists which inturn led to the birth of a new heresy.
10:01 “spirituality is knowing Who made you and what He made you for.”

Whatever copy of the book of Jasher he referred to is not authentic. The original is lost.
