Great Series. I was nine years old and watched every game from beginning to end. First WS i was able to do this. Reggie already established his Mr. October credentials. Love seeing the Fall Classic being played in the bright afternoon sunshine. I miss that today. Oh, well.
Seaver punked Yogi into starting him GM6 on short rest... The move was to start George Stone (12-3 regular season) and have Seaver still on short rest for GM7... Plus Matlack, Koosman, Tug & everyone else on the staff...
According to most insider reports, Seaver went above Berra and directly to the GM to ask for the ball for Game 6. It was the Mets lack of hitting that hurt them in Games 6 and 7, not Seaver's effort in Game 6.
@@jamessollazzo4860 I believe Bert Campaneris was of Cuban ancestry. He finished his career with the New York Yankees in the early 1980's. Was shortstop for Dave Righetti's no hitter against Boston in 1983.
@@jamessollazzo4860 Campy really was a gamer. He was a fanatic about keeping himself in shape and did a good job with the Yankees that year. He was a Julio Franco type of player.
Remember watching this during Mets rain delays in the mid 1970s on channel 9 WOR, great to see it again !

Love that action funk music that kicks in at 33:06.
If Milan didn't make that error in game 1. the Mets would've won that game 1-0 and would've taken the series in five games.
Yup
Interestingly Teufel made a similar error in Game 1 of the '86 WS.
If my grandmother had not died, she would be alive today.
Bud and Willie were safe.
Oakland A’s vs New York Mets is a Great Rivalry and Rivalry series
terrible call ...never tagged him.... Harrelson safe by a mile...
17:55 what tug mcgraw has got left in his pitching tank is not a lot
Nonsense, you gotta still believe the Mets won it -- 🎉
Had the DH been allowed in this WS, Staub would have played all 7 games.
What kind of player is that Berto Campaneris!
hot head at times!
what was he domenican?

@@mattdon2164 don't remember him with yanks, but he was a tricky player for oakland vs mets in 73' series!

Campy was definitely on the Yankees. Because he played in the pine tar game. I was at that game
Barrels on was safe @ home.
Rematch this weekend
Too bad. Ancient history. Trust in Christ to be an eternal winner.
Was he a Met in the early 70's?
@@johnnyd63 no, He rose from the dead.
Too sad the A's are no more in Oakland.
Oakland should have swept the Mets.
