Congratulations!! Passing N1 is just absolutely incredible. I passed the N3 this year, and I totally attribute your videos & website as a gigantic factor to that. I re-watched them for review for god knows how many hours or times leading up to the test itself. Thank you so much dude.
Thank you The Pinwheel, and congratulations on passing N3!! I'm so glad we could help. =)
How long have you been studying for?
@@AndersonJakobroughly 2 and a half years I believe
Congratulations!
Serious question: am I supposed to start at n5 or n3?
Can't say I'm surprised you passed, but it's always great to see tangible results from something that takes as long as language learning does. Congrats man, you deserve it!
Thank you!
Congratulations! I took the N5 in December, and I just found out I passed. Your Genki 1 playlist was a big part of that, and I'm planning to keep going with the Genki 2 videos. Thanks for all your help!
Thank you! And congratulations to you too! That's awesome. I'm glad we were able to help, and hope the videos continue to do so! =)
May I know how long did you studied japanese to pass N5?
Congratulations on passing the N1! That's such a milestone for any Japanese learner, and such a motivation for other learners! Bravo 👏
It's very reassuring to know that even someone capable of making such great learning content still struggles with some aspects of the language after time. Nice job on the score dude!
I'm happy to say that I passed the N1 as well! It was my first time taking an JLPT and funnily I got the exact same result you did, 135 out of 180😄
Ha! That's awesome! Congratulations!
@@ToKiniAndy おめでとう to you as well :D
Congratulations and good luck on your next attempt! You inspire and help me so much when it comes to studying Japanese, so please keep doing what you're doing! ❤
Thank you! And I'm so happy to hear that. =) I will keep trying to do my best!
Wait, does this mean companies will look at your score and not just whether you passed or not? Pain...
@@theinktician No, companies only care if you've passed it or not. You don't have to tell them your score when applying for jobs.
Congrats! Just passed the n4 and your videos have been my main source of learning and review so I'm pretty happy for both of us
Congratulations! I’ve just started my Japanese learning journey and your videos help a lot. ありがとございます
Congrats!! That's awesome!!
Congratulations on passing N1! That's honestly amazing. My first JLPT test was N4 in the summer while I was in Japan and I was able to pass with decent scores. Currently I'm studying N3 and hoping to take it in the summer, but so far I'm flabbergasted by the gap between both levels.
Congratulations on passing!! I plan to take the JLPT N2 next July :-) This is making me think I should seriously get into anime/manga, since you mentioned using it to study
YAY! Congratulations Andy! 🥳🎉🎊It's so wonderful to see you and the progress you've been making with your Japanese practice and your UA-cam/ website. Bravo! 👏😍
Passing the N1 is amazing and you did fantastic even on a 'bad' day 😅🙌 If you take it again I'm sure you'll ace it. 💪
Congrats again! ❤️
Thank you so much! I'll do my best! =)
That's awesome! Congrats on N1!!!! 🎉
Congrats! That was well done!
Great for you dude! I just passed N2 and looking forward to pass N1 in July!
I just passed the N4, not the same i know, but you’ve definitly helped me find better ways to study, so thank you for that! Next up,is N3 😅
Congratulations! Still a great milestone! I'm happy I was able to help a bit. =)
Good luck on N3!
Congraaaaatssss! 🎉🎉
Congratulations!!!! I`m so happy for you! :)
Congratulations Andy!!
Your video prompted me to check my score and noticed that it was also available. I took the N3 test, my first time taking the JLPT, but barely passed it with a 96 overall score 😅. I honestly thought I wouldn’t pass it, but I’ll take the win. However, I really need to start doing what you’re doing to get ready for N1 in two years. There’s no way I’ll pass N1 just learning vocabulary and grammar, and barely doing any reading or listening like I’ve been doing since I started learning Japanese two years ago.
Thanks for everything you do to help people learn Japanese. It’s much appreciated!!
Thank you! And congrats on the pass!
Now that you've gotten to that point, it's actually a great time to start doing what you suggested, and jumping into the real content!
You're very welcome! I'm just glad it's been helpful. =)
Congrats!
Congrats! Thank you for all the resources you share also :)
Thank you! And I'm glad you're finding it all useful! =)
Yay! Congratulations!!! That must be a really hard test. I'm hoping to try the N5 in December. You're inspiring!
I don’t think I would have passed the N5 without your Genki videos. Thank you and congrats!
I'm hoping to take the jlpt N2 so I'm looking forward to your videos おめでとうございます!!!
Congratulations man! You made it! :D
Free to enjoy all the media now hehe the real fun!
Thanks man! Already enjoying that fortunately. 😉 My only “prep” for N1 was 200+ hours of DS games, 120+ hours of manga, and 100+ hours of visual novels. 🎉 Game on man! 😊
congratulations Andy!! You deserve all the best for ur hard work! :)
Thank you @spacethreads! =)
Congrats!!! Im happy for you, and its great to see that you want to improve and do even better 😁 good luck good luck, im sure you will be successful
Thank you! The sense of progress can be addicting! Looking forward to seeing where I'm at in a year. =)
Congrats 🎉🍾
Thank you!
Congrats!!!
Thank you!
Congratulations!!!!!!!!🎉🎉
Thank yoou!
Congratulations! おめでとうございます。 祝 N1合格
Congratulations!!!
Thanks Kevin!
Congratulations, Andy!
And thank you so much for doing these videos. Your videos on learning Japanese from manga and video games have been a great inspiration for me and I've started playing SteinsGate in Japanese on the Switch to practice my reading comprehension.
Keep up the good work!
Thank you Genkobar!
And enjoy Steins;Gate!!! I just finished it a few weeks ago, and it was SOOOO good! I'm totally obsessed with it now. =D
And if you're liking it, you're gonna like the thumbnail for my next video. haha
@@ToKiniAndy Haha I see, you were playing it as well! Awesome, I can't wait until I play more of it :D
Congratulations Andy! So happy for you!
Thank you!
Congrats, Andy! I just barely passed my N4, thanks in part to binge-watching your Genki livestreams the weeks before the exam 😂
Thank you! And congratulations! I'm glad that the videos helped. =)
Congratulations ✨ so proud of you 😋 you're the best Japanese teacher ever 🌻 wish you the best
Thank you so much! =)
I also didn't receive an email!! I just checked mine after I saw your video!!! I took N3 and I also passed 😆 barely lol, but I'll take what I can get!!! Thank you for your videos!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Congratulations! Barely still counts! =)
Congraaaaats!!!🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!!! =)
I haven’t been around here in awhile, but i picked a great time to check in! Congratulations 🎉
久しぶりですね!It's good to see you! And thank you! =)
congratulations!!!!
Thank you wannaknit!! =)
Congratulations on passing N1🎉 I remembered when I started to study Japanese by using your Genki series back in the day😂 and I just passed N2 this year too😇
おめでとうございます! Your videos have single handedly helped me with Japanese to where I can write lyrics at an amateur level. Let's go for a perfect score!
ありがとうございます!
I'm so happy to hear that I've been able to help!
Perfect score, here we come!
Congratulations!! I appreciate your videos very much right now as I am learning Japanese for the first time.
I passed the N3 exam! I am so excited, it was my first JLPT exam so I was scared but I passed🎊🎊🎊😭
Congratulations! That's awesome! =)
Andy, Congrats on passing N1. I took the N5 in USA and passed 158/180. Going for N4 next. Going to do some gaming and more reading, but my weakness is listening. More podcast listening in the future.
Thank you @juromanz! Reading and gaming helps a lot! Congrats on passing the N5, and good luck on the N4!
I haven’t taken any of the JLPT tests yet. I finished my Japanese classes at U of L last spring but I don’t graduate until this fall. Then I want to really buckle down and shoot for taking the JLPT but I don’t know if I want to try for N2 or N3 I think I could probably squeak by N3 now if I tried but I guess I’ll figure it out once I get to that point! Reading really does help so much once you have a solid foundation! Congrats on passing N1 🥳
SUPERB Andy! Passing N1 like a boss 🔥
Thank you!
Congrats! I just restart my Japanese study as this new year resolution after putting it on hold for 1.5 years. I think I’m barely N5 level atm, so your Genki book series is very helpful.
Thank you!
And I'm glad to hear that the Genki series is helping out. =)
That's awesome, congrats!!
Thank you! =)
Congratulations 🎊 I just recently came across your channel and it inspired me to finally take the plunge into learning. So far I'm just trying to learn the hiragana and katakana before trying anything else and I hope to get to your level one day :)
Thank you!
Welcome to the channel! I hope that we can help you along the way. Hiragana and Katakana are a super important base, so I'm glad to hear you are starting there. =)
Congrats on passing the N1!
Those are some impressive results and all the reading you have been doing looks like it paid off.
(If you do end up retaking it I wish you the best)
Thank you! I'll definitely take it again! I want to get as close to perfect as I can, just for fun. haha
@@ToKiniAndy I would probably do the same thing since I try to be a perfectionist a lot lol
dude you are amazing. absolute inspiration.
Not sure if amazing, but I'm happy I can add some inspiration to your studies! =)
Thank you for watching!
おめでとうございます🎈
ありがとうございます!!
I started learning japanse may 2022 and i passed N5 thanks to your genki videos :) i guess it's kinda okay-ish for learning this language for only about 7 month when i took the test ^^
Great job Tdwhk! And yes, that's great! =) I'm glad the videos were able to help! =)
おめでとうございます!!! While I was looking for resources on how to learn Japanese efficiently, I came across your channel. My level is still on the beginner side but I'm making nice progress!
ありがとうございます!Glad to hear you're making progress! I hope you can continue to enjoy learning Japanese. =)
@@ToKiniAndy I am! It’s one of my 2023 goals! :D
Congratulations! you're an inspiration for us self learners. Looks like you've gotten really good at reading, wonder which area you are focusing on next 🤔
Thank you!
I'm just going to keep going with reading! Especially considering there is audio along with what I read, I think enough of it will solve the other sections. =)
This UA-cam algorithm is quite a mystery but since I watched: congrats!
Kinda impressed by your 50 ngl. I'm a 135 resident too, but with 45/38/52 and I was already at my reading limit. I thought years of passive Netflix subtitles would've naturally done the trick, how foolish I was: they speak in those! Same with my games, I realized they're mostly AAA with the audio matching the subtiles, so it's still not the real deal. Guess I need more Gyakuten Saiban in my life, let's freakin gooo~
Congrats! I just passed the N4! Taking the N3 this coming year!
Congratulations!
Thank you!
Absolute chad 先生、おめでとうございます🙌🎊🎉👏
ありがとうございます! =)
I really admire people's dedication. I imagine it comes as quite a relief, after spending all this time studying.
I tend to personally ask myself "what comes next." I enjoy doing what I'm doing and like to commit to it out of that. Though, time is valuable and the more you explore the more you can find. It's not possible to do everything, especially not all at once. So, the JLPT is on hold for me.
Congrats!! ♥
Thank you!
Congratulations Andy, that's a huge accomplishment. I'm in Japan right now on the last day of a 40 day trip, when I come back for a much longer period of time post-uni, I hope I can pass the N1 as well.
Thank you! That sounds like a great trip you're on! I hope you can get back here for even longer as you are planning! =)
Well done!
Thank you!
おめでとう!
ありがとうございます!!
Congratulations. Onwards and upwards to further improving your Japanese.
Yes indeed! Thank you!
アンデイ先生、おめでとうございます!I'm going to try for N2 this winter.
ありがとうございます!Good luck on N2!!
Congratulations, Andy! Passing N1 is a huge milestone. (We knew you had it in the bag, tho!) おめでとうございます!!!!
ありがとうございます!! Feels good to finally have it! =)
Congratulations!🎉
Thank you!!
Big congrats!
Big thank you! =)
Congratulations Andy! Awesome work and inspiring to me to get back to reading my Manga and playing some more Animal Crossing on the 3DS.
Thank you Sentack! I hope you can enjoy getting back into it and progressing! =)
congrats
Congratulations, Andy!
Thank you!!
Congratulations man, you totally deserve it 😃
Thank you!
I passed N4 and I attribute all of that to you Andy!! Thank you so much for your videos 😭🙏
Congratulations! That's awesome! I'm glad that we could help. =)
Congrats dude!
Thank you!
awesome job.
Congratulations! I’m new to your channel but thank you for sharing your journey with us. Can you skip a test if you’re confident enough? Example skip N5 and doing N4 even though I haven’t done the N5 test before
Congrats man! I passed my N4 too, やった!
Thank you Andy for always inspiring me to better myself
Let's both make ourselves the best we can be this year! =D
@@ToKiniAndy Thanks man ご返事してくれてありがとうございました
Congratulations!! What an incredible achievement. I'm gonna do the N5 in December this year 😃
Thank you!
And good luck on the test in December! =)
Got N3 myself 104/180 (31/23/50). Barely got it but still a pass so pretty happy about it. Tat was my first time taking it. I think it's now time to do it like you and start enjoying medias in japanese :)
Anyway, congrats for your N1!!
I think that’s quite low however, this is just a test to evaluate our knowledge and learn what our weaknesses are 😅
Congratulations, I didn't pass n2 this time with 84 marks, but tbh, I didn't prepare as much as I did with my n3 test. Also, I am now motivated because my n3 marks is very close to yours, which is 150, so I think I might be able to pass n2 next time.
Congrats on passing!
Thank you!
congrats! That reading score really makes me want to just totally abandon all the Kanzen Master and Nihongo So Matome practice I did and just read books. I haaaaated taking time away from my usual watching shows and reading novels to do JLPT specific study. I got the email yesterday that I passed N2 so now I guess I will give N1 a try and I think I'm gonna go the tokini andy route and just really bump up the amount of reading for fun I do this year and try to read as much as possible. I've been reading about 30 minutes a night (unless I'm at a part of the book that has me hooked, where I might read multiple hours in a day) so I think I'm gonna try to bump that up to an hour a day. I also really felt like I struggled on the listening section (although my listening score was actually just as high as reading, grammar, and vocab... they were pretty much all equally mediocre XD) so gonna try to find more bingeable shows this year.
Congrats on passing! 🙂
Thank you!
I completely bombed the N1 reading section... Maybe I should just keep playing videogames in Japanese like you and try again next year 🤣
That's Andy-sensei for you \(^o^)/
Congratulations!!
Thank you! =)
合格したおめでとうございます
Oh, congratulations!!! I took n2 for the second time. But this time I got less points in 読解 ... I'm working a lot and I don't have time to study with classic jlpt books... maybe I should incorporate more Japanese books, anime in my day-to-day basis :)
Thank you!
Getting busy makes it really hard, I know. =(
I think that adding books, manga and anime into your day-to-day when you have time, as you mentioned, though is even better than just going through classic JLPT study books. =)
I'm taking it on Sunday. Wish me luck!
I passed n1 too, thanks, im so happy😀
I passed N1 too congrats!
Awesome on the reading score.
Do you have any recommendations for places to go to read when your really bad at reading?
Thank you!
Here are a bunch of SUPER easy FREE graded readers you can check out: tadoku.org/japanese/en/free-books-en/
On our website (which is NOT free), we have over 100 short stories for learners as well. =)
congrats!
Thank you!
バンザイ🙌🙌 おめでとうございます アンディーさん! (Do you watch seasonal anime? Or some big ones? Or popular ones? I'm curious to see what you're watching, perhaps any recommendations. For example, have you seen Paripiri Koumei yet? (Ya Boy Kongming), I know it's a music anime, but it's definitely worth to try and the first episodes really let you know if it's for you or not. (Even if you don't like it, you will fall in love with the opening eventually)
ありがとうございます!
I watch seasonal AND older ones.
For example: I'm currently watching OddTaxi. Just finished the latest season of JoJo, just watched all of My Hero Academy, and also binged Steins;Gate after finishing the game. I'm also reaaaally enjoying Uncle from Another World. Another one from this past season I liked was Lycoris Recoil, which was pretty big I guess. And I've been keeping up on Overlord.
Dorohedoro was one of my favorite over the past year though. =)
edit: And thank you for the recommendation!
Congrats for passing N1, but can you please make the video on how to prepare for that especially for reading part. Thank you.
Impressive!, Felicitaciones !. Maybe there's a "how to prepare the JLPT (Tokini Andy)" Series coming? ✌😎
Ha! Maybe! We'll see! (Although my recent immersion videos are a good hint. ;-) )
Congratulations, Andy! 😊
Correct me if I am wrong, I noticed that you skipped N2. That's awesome
Thank you!
And yes, I decided to skip it, as I felt like I could pass N1. =) Glad that I did!
