Congratulations!! Passing N1 is just absolutely incredible. I passed the N3 this year, and I totally attribute your videos & website as a gigantic factor to that. I re-watched them for review for god knows how many hours or times leading up to the test itself. Thank you so much dude.
Can't say I'm surprised you passed, but it's always great to see tangible results from something that takes as long as language learning does. Congrats man, you deserve it!
Congratulations! I took the N5 in December, and I just found out I passed. Your Genki 1 playlist was a big part of that, and I'm planning to keep going with the Genki 2 videos. Thanks for all your help!
Thanks man! Already enjoying that fortunately. 😉 My only “prep” for N1 was 200+ hours of DS games, 120+ hours of manga, and 100+ hours of visual novels. 🎉 Game on man! 😊
Congratulations and good luck on your next attempt! You inspire and help me so much when it comes to studying Japanese, so please keep doing what you're doing! ❤
It's very reassuring to know that even someone capable of making such great learning content still struggles with some aspects of the language after time. Nice job on the score dude!
Congratulations on passing!! I plan to take the JLPT N2 next July :-) This is making me think I should seriously get into anime/manga, since you mentioned using it to study
Congratulations Andy!! Your video prompted me to check my score and noticed that it was also available. I took the N3 test, my first time taking the JLPT, but barely passed it with a 96 overall score 😅. I honestly thought I wouldn’t pass it, but I’ll take the win. However, I really need to start doing what you’re doing to get ready for N1 in two years. There’s no way I’ll pass N1 just learning vocabulary and grammar, and barely doing any reading or listening like I’ve been doing since I started learning Japanese two years ago. Thanks for everything you do to help people learn Japanese. It’s much appreciated!!
Thank you! And congrats on the pass! Now that you've gotten to that point, it's actually a great time to start doing what you suggested, and jumping into the real content! You're very welcome! I'm just glad it's been helpful. =)
Congratulations on passing N1! That's honestly amazing. My first JLPT test was N4 in the summer while I was in Japan and I was able to pass with decent scores. Currently I'm studying N3 and hoping to take it in the summer, but so far I'm flabbergasted by the gap between both levels.
YAY! Congratulations Andy! 🥳🎉🎊It's so wonderful to see you and the progress you've been making with your Japanese practice and your UA-cam/ website. Bravo! 👏😍 Passing the N1 is amazing and you did fantastic even on a 'bad' day 😅🙌 If you take it again I'm sure you'll ace it. 💪 Congrats again! ❤️
This UA-cam algorithm is quite a mystery but since I watched: congrats! Kinda impressed by your 50 ngl. I'm a 135 resident too, but with 45/38/52 and I was already at my reading limit. I thought years of passive Netflix subtitles would've naturally done the trick, how foolish I was: they speak in those! Same with my games, I realized they're mostly AAA with the audio matching the subtiles, so it's still not the real deal. Guess I need more Gyakuten Saiban in my life, let's freakin gooo~

Andy, Congrats on passing N1. I took the N5 in USA and passed 158/180. Going for N4 next. Going to do some gaming and more reading, but my weakness is listening. More podcast listening in the future.
Got N3 myself 104/180 (31/23/50). Barely got it but still a pass so pretty happy about it. Tat was my first time taking it. I think it's now time to do it like you and start enjoying medias in japanese :) Anyway, congrats for your N1!!
Congrats on passing the N1! Those are some impressive results and all the reading you have been doing looks like it paid off. (If you do end up retaking it I wish you the best)
おめでとうございます!!! While I was looking for resources on how to learn Japanese efficiently, I came across your channel. My level is still on the beginner side but I'm making nice progress!
I started learning japanse may 2022 and i passed N5 thanks to your genki videos :) i guess it's kinda okay-ish for learning this language for only about 7 month when i took the test ^^
Oh, congratulations!!! I took n2 for the second time. But this time I got less points in 読解 ... I'm working a lot and I don't have time to study with classic jlpt books... maybe I should incorporate more Japanese books, anime in my day-to-day basis :)
Thank you! Getting busy makes it really hard, I know. =( I think that adding books, manga and anime into your day-to-day when you have time, as you mentioned, though is even better than just going through classic JLPT study books. =)
Congrats! I just restart my Japanese study as this new year resolution after putting it on hold for 1.5 years. I think I’m barely N5 level atm, so your Genki book series is very helpful.
I really admire people's dedication. I imagine it comes as quite a relief, after spending all this time studying. I tend to personally ask myself "what comes next." I enjoy doing what I'm doing and like to commit to it out of that. Though, time is valuable and the more you explore the more you can find. It's not possible to do everything, especially not all at once. So, the JLPT is on hold for me.
I haven’t taken any of the JLPT tests yet. I finished my Japanese classes at U of L last spring but I don’t graduate until this fall. Then I want to really buckle down and shoot for taking the JLPT but I don’t know if I want to try for N2 or N3 I think I could probably squeak by N3 now if I tried but I guess I’ll figure it out once I get to that point! Reading really does help so much once you have a solid foundation! Congrats on passing N1 🥳
Congratulations on passing N1🎉 I remembered when I started to study Japanese by using your Genki series back in the day😂 and I just passed N2 this year too😇
Congratulations Andy, that's a huge accomplishment. I'm in Japan right now on the last day of a 40 day trip, when I come back for a much longer period of time post-uni, I hope I can pass the N1 as well.

Urayamashii. Hehe. I took N1 also, but only scored 18 for the Reading part. I did not finish reading all of the questions and many of them were still all confusing to me. :(
congrats! That reading score really makes me want to just totally abandon all the Kanzen Master and Nihongo So Matome practice I did and just read books. I haaaaated taking time away from my usual watching shows and reading novels to do JLPT specific study. I got the email yesterday that I passed N2 so now I guess I will give N1 a try and I think I'm gonna go the tokini andy route and just really bump up the amount of reading for fun I do this year and try to read as much as possible. I've been reading about 30 minutes a night (unless I'm at a part of the book that has me hooked, where I might read multiple hours in a day) so I think I'm gonna try to bump that up to an hour a day. I also really felt like I struggled on the listening section (although my listening score was actually just as high as reading, grammar, and vocab... they were pretty much all equally mediocre XD) so gonna try to find more bingeable shows this year.
