@@anthonyrossetti7509 'Stealing' and 'cloning' happen in all industries so I don't think trying to remain beholdend to anyone for is a good approach to have as a hobbyist or even a prosumer. But that's a rabbithole of a topic for another time. As far as Creality having a sale, that sounds awesome, however, that's why I mentioned 'if you don't **need** a printer now'. Sounds like Creality's site may have been in the fritz or the tail-end of a sale. My Little Monster is starting to finally show it's age and rather than dumping a lot of time and $$$ into bringing it up to spec, I decided it would be cheaper and simply better to just get a tool that works out of the box which is why I started looking at the X1C. Right now, it looks like the K2 and X1C are those 'tools' and don't require a bunch of fiddling once setup like my stagecoach of a Little Monster does.
Filament waste is seen as a tradeoff for reliability with Bambu. My prediction? two or more toolhead toolchanger with an AMS running to each one with the four-input style toolhead of the A1. It'll cut filament (if needed), then dock the toolhead, which will do the color swap procedure while docked. While that's happening, the toolhead can pick up another toolhead and continue printing. With just two toolheads, you'll have access to 8 colors/materials, and swaps will be just a few seconds instead of over a minute (unless all your colors are on the one toolhead). The software will tell you how to load your filament to optimize the toolchanges to eliminate pauses in printing. So the "not seen in consumer printers" things are likely related to positional accuracy of extrusion, which I'm sure they'll find a reason for with single toolheads, but will be great to have with a two toolhead setup. LiDAR to get precise toolhead offsets will be one, but as far as targeting prosumer printers? I'd look at what the prosumer segment currently adds: high-temp enclosed chambers, perhaps even manipulating the bed for "4-axis" printing for strength.
Do you think the new Bambu printer could be something that's not FDM? (E.g. full colour "poly jet", powder bed fusion/SLS/SLM). I think their original patent has expired. Otherwise, if you check out industrial FDM, the main differences from a BL printers seem to be higher temperatures, larger build volume, multiple heads (E.g. idex), and MAYBE precision (though this is debatable). I guess it depends on whether they want to iterate or innovate. (edit: I tried to think of other features that consumer printers don't have: 4 or 5 axis printing, hybrid manufacturing/integrated post-processing, AI g-code optimization, dynamic nozzle diameter, pellet feeders, ...)
Friends, I’ve been thinking about buying an X1C for a long time, The prices are really affordable right now, but on the other hand, I’m also curious about the new printer that will be released in the first quarter of 2025, should I wait for or should I buy the X1C?
It all depends on your needs. If you need to buy today then get the X1C. If you can afford to wait a few months or so for some answers the X1C will still be there. I've had mine for a year or so and have absolutely zero regrets with the purchase. We'll just have to take a wait and see approach I guess.
They can announce it with a production later in 2025. When a company says something like Q1 of 2025, they are not legally obligated to actually meet the deadline.
Well, that sounds very much to me like more expensive and not for the true hobbyist like myself, especially the "above X1" series statement as the X1 isn't exactly cheap.
As I am a QIDI user I been waiting for Bambu Lab to simply release a LARGER printer yet they keep on giving us smaller printers? They have it right and don't need to give us new features! Guess I'm waiting. I have anycubic kobra 2 max kobra 3 combo and several idex and creality monstrosities I wanted the x1c but even if they do a massive version of the x1c I'm in
Prosumer: Does this mean the capability to print higher temperature engineering materials such as PEKK? Pure speculation here but if they could rival the vision miner 22 IDEX printer with a $15000 price tag at a price below $2000 that would be awesome. Can't imagine the market for this being very big though compared to their current product range
X1C is ~1300, and X1E doubles that. If X2/X0/X(whatever) is bigger and more complex, I would assume *at minimum* X1E price without any bells and whistles. _Prosumer_ alone adds 50% on top of that 😅 Prusa XL is half the cost of the IDEX you mention, with 5 toolheads. Not sure how it compares. SnapMaker J1S *IDEX* costs less than X1C. Not sure how it compares to the IDEX you mention (likely not close enough). I don't believe BL can (or wants to) make 15k-like printer at 1/8 price tag. X1C is "half" the price of Vorons etc. and eventually they need to make the money they spend on MakerWorld and A1 bed cables? edit: Have you checked Raise3D an Ultimaker printers?
Im actually not a fan of mutitool systems and kinda hoping the new one doesn't have it as standard. The X1C seems to be the perfect format and paired with the AMS for those occasional times we'd need other colours. My message to Bambu would be to just improve upon the X series and not go crazy with adding a bunch of flashy onboard rubbish. They made a splash with the X1C, now refine it. Give us a large size or option of a large size (no less than 300³) and refine the AMS to also serve as an active dryer box if it hasn't already. Almost bought an X1C and glad I didn't. Holding out to see what their next chapter is otherwise I'm just going to get a K2.

No its typical of Bambu. If you look at their history over the past year and a half the company has been VERY sketchy to the customers. Hahahahah. They thought no one was going to innovate in the entry-level 3D printer space until Qidi came along with the Plus4 and its extended temperature range. Except a little smoke... Meanwhile the several P1P's I have are going strong, with nothing more than a little bit of cleaning and lubricating. I must have spent 100+ man hours installing Qidi parts and diagnosing their crappy printers. I've got only 1 Q1 Pro left operating now and the Z-offset is unbearably inconsistent. It will be my last Qidi printer for some time, until they make a good printer again. The worst part is I needed these for high temp parts. Buying those high speed Qidi printers was my biggest mistake (and waste of money and time) in 3d printing. And, to the contrary of your statement, I definitely don't think Bambu ever stopped innovating - what they have accomplished in the span of a couple of years is absolutely insane. Its a load of crap and spin coming from Bambu. The reason they are not having it come out yet is because of the lawsuit. @@mikecrane2782 VERY unlikely seeing how Stratasys clearly owns the patents that Bambu stole. Several legal analysts have said that Bambu is in big trouble. And not sure what the benefits are of an enclosed core XY besides footprint
I guess it will depend on the sale price on BF
I kind of shifted to looking at the A1 combo
Over p1S and X1C.
I am hoping for a multi tool head to be revealed at a sub 2k price or for 2k
I feel like that would be the sweet spot
There's always next BF if you don't need a printer now :)
In a similar situation to you. Creality just unleashed their K2. So if Bambu's next chapter isn't what I'm looking for, I'll just settle for the K2 (I'm after build size, it'd be nice to have the lidar that the X1C has buuuut 🙃)
Well maybe Creality will clone what ever Bambu announces by next BF.
I would say maybe cheaper but as of now unless you got in on the early preorder the. The K2 isn't really any deal over the X1C.
I would hold off on the K2 unless they offer a really good BF price.
Also weird that the other day I went in Creality website and it had a sale on the K1 SE ,it said Halloween sale and it was $299
And there was a timer and there was plenty of time left but then after I reloaded the page it wouldn't show the same sale price again.
"Prosumer" means $4-5K
Great content. Keep it up bro.
what if the new feature is a separate purge block area not on the plate so the entire plate can be used that would be good enough for me
I'm so happy, I just bought a new one and now I wont be sad cus I didn't wait a few more months
Well yeah, they do state it's targeted at prosumers, not hobbyists
Especially as that includes the X1E!
@@8x8johan I know what they're saying, that's my point, if you're waiting as I am for the next "X1," this is disappointing news.
@@jimporter That too, they have the X1E which is *supposed to be* geared towards pros.
Probably going to be around £3000 I reckon. My x1c has paid for itself so so many times over so it's not unreasonable
I wish you had a hidden picture and what size is it?
Automatic part removal for “mass production”?
thanks for the info
As I am a QIDI user I been waiting for Bambu Lab to simply release a LARGER printer yet they keep on giving us smaller printers? They have it right and don't need to give us new features! They simply need to give us a larger printer while they play with new future features that will change how we use them. But as you pointed out what could those future features be? Well, we do not have a true RGB printer. Picture that.
what about a four axis printer?
layer by layer 2d inkjet coloring ?
Thanks for being the only youtuber to talk about this today. Sub earned.
he's the only person talking about it because there's nothing to actually talk about. there's no actual information or dates involved, it's just speculation. who cares ??
@@obie224 I care. It's annoying they still haven't given any details, but they did say it would be released Q4 this year. So the push to next Q is newsworthy to those of us who have been waiting for it.
@@iidensama Are you kidding ? Any release schedule that bambu puts out is sketchy at best and completely irrelevant at worst. this "announcement" is a perfect example. So if you think that there was anything useful or news worthy in this video, congratulations - you're a fanboy. I mean for God's sake, you don't even know wtf you're waiting for LOL. carbon and metal 100% , maybe presure mould injection stuff also, shop inside the printer_:_ one button prints from shop.
What a time to be alive.
Anything to do with the big lawsuit?
It's very possible, but no one knows for sure. It's all speculation at this point.
Maybe the new to consumer tech either a pellet extruder or a direct composite filament infusing
it could be non-linear printing. Printing at angles or "rotatable down", which can print some modes without supports or maybe with very few supports at all.
Ive been looking at building or buying a high end corexy printer. For example voron. Honestly a decent printer even at $1500 or more that works well is a bargain at $2000 with colour chane still a bargain if they can hit $3000 with tool changing that will kill prusa
Is an P1S (combo) worth it nowa dayz? my Bday coming up, bein sitting on this 4 a while now
I'd say so.
If you need enclosure and want AMS, yes. Otherwise think if A1 (or other brand) is better value.
They are talking about a features that is no available to the consumer not an entire new features... maybe is something that we need to look to the high professional 3d printer.
In any case... a bit curiose about the patent case.
My guess: MMS (Multi Material System), Non planar capabilities + 2 tool heads ( 350C & Laser Etching/Cut) Heated chamber
Plus Kuerig Coffee Maker (JOKE)
It should also make 3D printed waffles.
I mean I waited until Q3 of 2024 saving up my Makerworld points, and I'm ready af! a few months don't matter.
I received information confirming that there will be a much larger printing area than the one currently available.
Thanks, J!
I wonder if the lawsuit has something to do with it.
Bambu has to divert resources to a competent legal team, so probably.

If this new printer doesn't have a larger build plate I'll be annoyed... I honestly don't care about anything else.
Great the a1 for now
Prosumer: Does this mean the capability to print higher temperature engineering materials such as PEKK? Pure speculation here but if they could rival the vision miner 22 IDEX printer with a $15000 price tag at a price below $2000 that would be awesome. Can't imagine the market for this being very big though compared to their current product range
X1C is ~1300, and X1E doubles that. If X2/X0/X(whatever) is bigger and more complex, I would assume *at minimum* X1E price without any bells and whistles. _Prosumer_ alone adds 50% on top of that 😅
Prusa XL is half the cost of the IDEX you mention, with 5 toolheads.
The big thing they don't have is quality control.
Which vendor sets the standard for QC, in your mind?
the speculation on reddit is it will be over 3k$
Imagine metal printing!
Perhaps it will be able to print metal.

Same. 😊 I need a build plate bigger than their current biggest. Else, K2 is really enticing. 😊

I currently have a huge delta printer from 2017 and it's dying finally (weird software glitches, inaccurate bltouch, thermister issues etc) and figured it's time to get my second ever printer but I'd like for it to be a tool that I can just throw tasks at and not hold its hand and wonder if the print will succeed.
I know the X1C has that ability to be a tool but it's too small for my needs (I prototype a lot of car mods).
So yeah, the K2 doesn't have LiDAR like the X1C to sort out pressure advance etc but the reviews I've seen so far of early K2 units looks like a promising alternative.

All I got from their post is that they are moving away from consumer friendly pricing and it's going to be even more expensive. Won't even listen to their customers and release a bigger build plate printer. A shame really
No its typical of Bambu. If you look at their history over the past year and a half the company has been VERY sketchy to the customers. Putting out printers that can catch fire , Not having hardly any customer service. changing the return policy to NO RETURNS if you open the box. Once they got big they showed their real colors
@@anthonylong5870They did a very, very public series of apologies and a global recall, offering customers the replacement parts for free and $250 in credits, or replacing the entire printer.
Their printers are the best you can buy at the prices they’re offered at. I replaced an extruded gear after 4k print hours on my X1. Bambu understands its core customer base extremely well, and the single handed muscled out Prusa with the A1.
@@anthonylong5870Sorry. Bambu vs Creality, has ANY Bambu printer ever caught fire? They had a recall on the A1s because it was a tiny risk of a heatbed reading error. And before you think I’m lying, I was actually one of the affected users, an A1 early adopter.

Sounds like the new Qidi tech printer
Hahahahah. They thought no one was going to innovate in the entry-level 3D printer space until Qidi came along with the Plus4 and its extended temperature range. And now BL engineers have to match those specifications in record time.
When a company stops innovating and settles for leading sales by selling the same thing over and over again, it's time to scrap it completely and wait to see how it fades away. It happened to Creality, now is happening to Bambu Lab.
Goodbye Bambu Lab, welcome Qidi.

I loved Qidi Tech too... until I didn't. My Qidi X max 2s were solid work horses. Got rid of them when I jumped on their high speed printers. The newer Qidi's are riddled with problems and have the lowest quality hardware on the planet! I've got 3 dead Qidi's sitting in my shed and another that I just went to turn on and, nothing. The fact that there is a new release coming Q1 2025 means they've wasted no time since the A1 release.

Here's what I gather from their posts. Its going to cost a fortune. So unless you're planning to spend 10k+ on a printer, might as well just buy the X1 now.
Its a load of crap and spin coming from Bambu. The reason they are not having it come out yet is because of the lawsuit. They are restricted from putting out any new products using the "patented technology in question" , They are trying to just play it off because they know they are going to lose and they are trying to figure out a way to make printers.....
