I feel like Part 2 should have covered the bits like Japanese food and Jeremy originally switching Amy off, and this being Part 3. But still, fun to watch!
top gear isnt about stuff like that, it's specifically about cars. The cultural stuff is secondary.
@@np7736 is about three men having fun. Cars, talks, culture, views and fun.
6:37 Turn up the bass and you can hear Jeremy's heartbeat through the microphone!
Very faint but not impossible to hear. Can tell that his inner bpm is something over 120
I love that despite their rivalry and their frequent sarcastic jabs at each other, in the end Clarkson admits how close a win it was and they’re all impressed. Great friends, these three
Man between part 1 and 2 skipped a shit load
DM87 or that idk I just did a Google search and that was the first result
I wonder at what point he realized he needed to turn the headband the right way up.
when he got there and got out of the car, it was upside down, but in the next scene it was the right way around.
3:41, that rev when Jeremy accelerates sounds so amazing.
head tape upside down lol
somehow its upside down for most of it but not when he reaches the finish lol
lol at the end James translator says Ryouri suru. Which means "to cook" lol.
You just have to love their challenges, the words ' bloody epic ' seem so unworthy to be used in describing them, I wish Netflix would pick them up so I could binge watch them all.
@@tango976is there anywhere i can torrent each season at once instead of one episode by episode
2:33 is probably one of the greatest aerial shots of anything ever. What a beautiful shot. 💂🏿♂️
@@xetaxeronever mind, this version still has the original music ua-cam.com/video/WUa0SfRukcM/v-deo.html
@@xnopyt13I checked the original piece and I couldn't disagree more. The new music is much more appropriate for both his line and the awestriking view. There's a slender beauty to such a long pristine bridge emerging from the very ocean, and the selection is more reserved and unique. You can put blaring horns wherever you want, but when you're shown something so elegant and beautiful, it needs something more subtle.
@@nicolasvidal92 to me the scene is more epic and less elegant, in most cases like this (slow helicopter shot of something massive) that I have seen the music is closer to the epic side. The new version is a bit too underwhelming compared to the footage IMO. Like you said the scene is awe striking, so the appropriate music should not be subtle.
2:50 Love how Jeremy puts his headband on upside down.
For something that's 150 miles longer, getting there at the same time is bloody fantastic.
And then this was the short way of crossing Japan. Had they done north to south, the car wouldn't have had a chance. That's more than 2000 kilometers. By train you can leave in the morning, arrive in the evening. If you did that by car, it would take you 2 days.
Japan is such a majestic place... wow!!
@@BillOweninOttawa My point is that people highlight Japan like it’s some amazing place but it has its down issues like any other country. Don’t get me wrong it’s a beautiful place.
@@Samanthnyaa It is an amazing place. One of the best countries in the world. Thanks.
7:28 I'm out of breath just listening to them, definitely one of my favourite races ever on Top Gear.
6:57 the Japanese man must be thinking ‘why is a gaijin wearing a kamikaze headband’??
Well, let’s be fair,
Jeremy walking up those stairs would most likely have been suicide for him.
that translator said "料理する" at last, which is for "to cook"
0:11 Chris: AMY'S BACK! I PRESSED EVERYTHING AND SHES BACK ON MY SCREEN!
I love how Jeremy pretends to tour at the end 😂🤣😂🤣
when you wear the headband upside down: IM READY LETS DO THIS
thank u for coming to Japan!
The GT-R is just amazing!!!
Goosebumps at 4:47. That engine sounds amazing.
The ending is just everything when they walk together damnn
Even before that though, the pure joy, and awe in Jeremy when he realized that he had won, that that car had won... That will never not make me smile...
The end was more wholesome than I expected honestly
No Japanese WWII jokes from Clarkson? He's losing his edge.
well he needed some divine wind while going up a mountain path at full speed, while it is true that Kamikaze was used before WWII, he was clearly implying the suicide missions.
You know he made some racist, dad jokes, the beeb will have edited them out.
@@ArbyCreeper do you think the characters still seem to be readable ?
Mannn! I love the real Top Gear with those three blokes!!
We need more videos like this!
3:40 the sounds of the suitcases opening and the bikes unfolding is the same noise that Chinese stig's punches make
02:30 "back in my day we rented a helicopter to film that shot".
Ive only just noticed this but at 7:35 is that richard really saying "thanks buddah you looked after him"
7:21 "Congradulations" (wipes hand on jeans)
To those asking yes it is partially staged. Those close exterior shots of jeremys gtr were taken with mounted cameras, yet none were visible in the wide shots. And why did jeremy not always have the car in sport mode. And why didn't he use the language select button to change languages? Still fun to watch
They film all the interior car shots & the James & Richard stuff in real time, during the actual race. They then go back & film all the dramatic overtaking shots & helicopter shots ect.
On the Argentina special they had a drone so they could do more ariel shots during the actual trip.
such a great great car
3:36 dude that montage was so good
I want that freaking Nissan GTR!
I would rather take the money and buy another car. I don't care that much about being that fast to 100 km/h, just quick enough to really feel it the g's during the acceleration. And then get something more luxurious and with higher comfort. And no, I will not argue with you GTR fanboys, I just don't feel for the car.
sven3581 What do you know about what I don't know? (Crap, now I am arguing with the arrogant GTR fanboy.
'And then within the 9th and the 10th century this wall was 12 century' Jeremy had jokes for life🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Honestly telling these guys are living their dream life
this race was epic
Probably best top gear segment ever
The ending is the best part. 🔥🔥🔥
That driving at the end though.. :D
this was a brilliant one
amazing guys
Beautiful!
Trip of a lifetime
AMIE'S BACK!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I got a "the grand tour" advert before this video😂
Only in the BBC's world can 480p be called 'High quality'
Good thing the content is great. ;-)
Before HD video came around the 480p WAS marked as HQ (high quality) on the website, lol. Before HD, 480p WAS high quality, lol. Remember, HQ stands for high quality, not high definition ;) It's an outdated term from the pre-HD days back when that was the highest standardized quality.
A classic!
Epic episode!
Still a classic.
Jeremy didn't "beat the bullet train" as he announced. If he really did try to race it lets say from Osaka to Tokyo, the boys would have had enough time to get off at Nagoya for a three course lunch, relax at a spa, get back on and still have time for an afternoon snack in a cafe before Jeremy could even get half way.
Still an extremely fun race, reminiscent of the French version of the race.
Edit: The first leg of the boys journey was not actually a bullet train, rather a standard express that may reach close to 160 km/h.
Last holiday there I was like "wouldn't it be great to rent a car to go from osaka to kumamoto. how long does that take?"
google maps showed me it was 14 hours and over 800 euro's of toll road.
"Ok and what if I go by train?"
-> yeah you can get an unlimited rail pass for 2 weeks for 400 euro' s and the journey will take you just over 2 hours....
train it is, I guess....
@@NiekNooijens Wise choice.
I absolutely detested driving around Japan. Countryside was kind of okay but the second you hit a populated area, it's like someone went nuts on the city with a salt shaker full of traffic lights. Example: A 25 km drive to the centre of Osaka, I counted over 120 sets of traffic lights.
To be fair this episode was filmed in 2007 (S11 I think), 8 years before the _Hokoriku Shinkansen_ (240km/h or ~150mph) opened, which takes a more direct route from the start to end point compared to the Thunderbird limited express (max. 130km/h) + _Tokaido Shinkansen_ (225-270km/h back then, now ~285km/h) combination used in this video
@Ian Turner They actually took the fastest way available.
If they traveled directly from Osaka to Tokyo, Jeremy would have been eating his hat for a the next decade.
All things considered, the boys on the train did it quick.
Even Jeremy got there quicker than I expected.
Driving in Japan is a good way to test the limits of your heart rate. Jeremy was faster than I'd ever dare to drive in Japan.
Awesome!
gems! these lads !!!
Really miss them.
By God I loved this show 🇯🇵😍🥰
What is that ending music, that is glorious!!
I'm in tears Jeremy ad the kamikaze headband hahhahaha 😂😂
Now I want to go to Japan.
Jeremy: "I was now giving it everything"
Jeremy's GT-R: *drifts*
Now this is the kind of stuff you shoud be able to do with your friends.
''I'm gonna need to win this is a divine wind'' Divine wind'' = Kami Kaze. Saw what you did there Jeremy
This is truly a 'PC is better than console.' 'But is your PC better than console?' moment.
lol funny he wore that head band up side down ..
every clip i see, jeremy wins every race :D
these vids sold me on Japan
Now this is what i call a Race🤩. Really enjoy it.
The car beat a lot of local trains, but the shinkansen wasn't really used for much of the journey...
I am 90% sure that if Hamster and James used the Shinkansen, they would have made it several minutes before Jeremy.
@@harrisonofcolorado8886 Yep, if there is a route it will be faster. Especially traffic can be unpredictable. But kudos to Japanese road system though, its not too bad and roads were pretty well laid out it seems. Though it could have been slower if Jeremy weren't maxing to the speed limit I presume.
I love jeremy
Hey, at 5:11 he's finally wearing the headband so that the characters are no longer upside down.
Oh look at that, the Keikyu line
Going to Japan this summer, already booked an rental GTR R35 Pure Edition for 24hr!! Gonna hav a road trip from Tokyo to Mount Fuji :D
Don't forget to go to Mazda's Hakone Turnpike. It's one of the best mountain road for blasting your car (5th stage of Initial D races happened there iirc)
Though you have to pay some sort of toll ticket to enter though if I'm not mistaken
BannedIP he isn't old enough to drive. and more than likely a virgin.
Japan really is beautiful
This show will never be the same without these three :'(
Very close race.
2:30 I thought it was going to touch the port🤣
a man from birminham and a man with no sense of direction of course godzilla would win
yes
Jermy: *Panting and dying* The japanese guy staring at him: 🗿
Finally!
If james and richard had never lost each other they would have won
7:10 hi guys!
Japan!!
*video starts* AMYS BACK
Oh, the head band being upside down at first turns normal at the end ... impressive.
Still good show to introduce Japan and the GT-R😆
when he puts the bandana upside down 😂
Title correction: "Nissan GTR vs Bullet Train to Bus to Ferry to Bike Scooter: Race Across Japan (Part 2) | Top Gear"
I prefer across Japan with the car :D
i like how they posted this 4 years after pt 1
race across japan part 2... WITH A MASSIVE CHUNK MISSING IN BETWEEN.
my thought exactly
Should have just called it "part 3" since the true part 2 is actually missing, lol. Instead, they just lied to us.
