At first, the naming of Prodigy's discs&plastics may seem a bit strange, but when you look more closely, it's really clear (and also the most professional on the market): PA= Putt&Approach A= Approach M= Midrange F = Fairway H = Hybrid D = Distance Driver x= means faster, for example, FX= Fairway, but the letter X means those are faster than F-series discs, so Fx-series discs are 9-speed. Numbers after the letters: Their models range from 1 to 7 - '1' being the most overstable and '7' being the most understable, so for example, Mx1 is their most overstable midrange. Note, they also have a new mold, very understable fairway driver called F9. Then the plastic: 300 soft, 300 and 300 Firm(previously 350g) are basic plastics, so those are putter plastics. They also have 200 plastic which i'm not so familiar, but based on that number, it is most likely some type of putter plastic. Then, 400, 400g, 500, 750, 750g and Special Blend are their premium plastic line up, but discs in 400g and 750g plastic are currently canceled, because they have problems to get right material to make those discs, but as soon as they can get it again, they will restart to produce those discs. Ps nowadays, their new discs are stamped with flight numbers.
I actually love their naming system. Its much easier to tell what a Pa-5 is supposed to do vs a Uplink or Leopard if you arent familiar with other brands naming systems. I bag half prodigy and half mvp with a couple other random discs thrown in (buzzz, focus, etc) but i had to memorize my mvp stuff. Or individually read out the flight numbers to know what difference a Atom would have vs a Entrophy vs a Focus.
Just finished watching this one and when you took that first disc i was amazed. Stamp was made for disc golf tournament held in my home town in LAPPEENRANTA. (city here in eastern Finland)🤔😂 dunno how it ended up there.
Omg! That’s so interesting that I got a stamp for that! Probably because they messed up the stamp so they kept it in the states? Sorry if I butchered the pronunciation 😂 I plan on bagging all 10 and making a video soon, so stay tuned!
@@paddiography your pronunciation was accually on point! You would do good here in Finland. Welcome, just come and visit 😊 and if you really planning to do that, come end of summer when there is European open disc golf Championship. Its a huge event in Tampere Finland.
Great video! Love seeing new disc golf content coming out! Just wanted to say I've always liked the way prodigy named their discs makes them quick easy to identify. Also PA 3s are the best putters for throwing and putting, I personally bag 4 of them 😅
I guess their naming system just comes off as generic and unexciting since their discs don’t have fun names, but I can see your point. After making this video, the discs are easier to understand than I initially thought too! The PA 3s feel nice, so I’m excited to give them a test run! 4 putters in one bag though? 👀 sheesh
My favorite disc is a pizza! But, great video! I don't know anything about disc golf but it looks like fun. Good job Patrick, it's informative and interesting.
I purposefully left that part because a lot of people like the noise of the paper and opening the box 😉 plus, I like connecting with everyone but I understand if that’s not your cup of tea

They gave you only two putters. P = Putter. High numbers (1-9) are understable, so a D1 would be a very stable driver. Pretty easy system.
