What a lovely family! Loved your content. The dessert you tried looks not so authentic though, which is the reason you don't quite fancy it. If you ever travel to Sizchuan, or Leshan City to be precise, please try it there! They have the best brown sugar instead of the watery feeling in this video. You can literally feel the sandy sugary taste melting on your tongue. I have once met a lady making this specific dessert in Leshan for over two decades. She can toss the jelly in the air about 10 meters, turn around and collect with eyes masked. Very entertaining and you can easily tell she worked on it for many years. =D
@ Please do stay and eat for a few days there! People say Chengdu is super tasty but in reality it’s relatively the crappiest place to eat in Sichuan.(Still very good though) Leshan or Zigong >>>>>> Chengdu any day!

They were born in China and have a Chinese residence permit. With this (and a bag full of tuition fee) they can study at any Chinese private school in the country. Parents also need to have residence permits, and with that comes also fulltime employment by at least 1 parent.
That beef doesn't look like brisket, it's too lean, next time look for beef brisket with tendon and a little bit of fat in it. Before the brisket is served in a hot pot it should have stewed in 5 spices for a few hours so it becomes very soft not chewy. Try lamb hot pot, it's more expensive but it is tastier for my taste.
Most places serve meatier beef. In 🇬🇧 not many places serve with tendon, even Asian butchers. Not enough tendon and fat…I think it’s because it’s not considered‘healthy’….too much 5 spice spoils that dish!!!
