This ghazal featured in Dayaar-e-Rooh series of poetry by Kavita Seth is an amazing amalgam of many moods, many thoughts, perceptions and situations which are a part of our existential reality and impact our lives. The lyricist unfolds the narrative with romantic atmosphere created by rain soaked nights which creates pangs of separation in beloved’s heart who is separated from his lover. The poet symbolises day as a journeyman carrying a load of memories on his wayward thoughts as the day recedes towards evening. Imagining day having bundled the events and moving from morning towards a sullen, lonely evening is evidence of creative sensitivity of the poet. Musically too, these words lend a subtle sublimity to the song and enhance its mood.
Succeeding lines too keep furthering the emotional flavour of ghazal which blends so beautifully with the composition created by Kavita and sung so soulfully by her.
