I didn’t even need to go to the gym and I lost a lot of weight just living there. I’d eat small and walk a lot. I suggest co-living spaces as well which are much cheaper than this. I’d also do Gojek for transport rather than your own scooter. There are a lot of things you can do a lot cheaper than this and still have an incredible experience

Nice to watch what you've filmed, but unfortunately, the image you portray of Canggu is very idealized. Canggu is so crowded and noisy that it's difficult to live comfortably there. Traffic jams and the smell of scooter exhaust are everywhere. I spent a week there and was so tired that I moved to Uluwatu - now I finally feel like I'm on vacation. Clean air, no traffic jams, and the most beautiful beaches. Highly recommend.

This young kid really hasn't learned much and has NO IDEA how to live frugally! Spend too much money and eats outside way too much. Thanks so much! Tourist visa is up to 60 days. There's also Business visa uo to 6 months. Or Kitas, 2 years. And for example Vietnam has 90 days visa on arrival. In Thailand and Philippines you can stay longer just by extending the visa when you're there :)

$1000 per month is overkill. You can rent a beautiful villa and get some housemates, that way you can split the rent. Cook for yourself if you can, or be the chef of the house and get a side job as the cook.
Totally unrelated note, Bali really needs to fix the roads and access. The traffic is unbearable and it really is a huge turn off. It's not surprising since Bali is in Indonesia, and Indonesians are not known to care much about these things.
You also need to know good doctors just in case. Human resources are notoriously bad there. Aside from hospitality, they're not known to be good at anything else.
All in all, it's a paradise. You just need to know what you're doing and don't be ignorant.

With bank/bond interest, he can cover his living expenses every month.
