how weird . .a grown man of 55 with tears rolling down his cheeks thinking of a time gone by. Amazing what a short snippet of something precious can do. Wasn't expecting that when I searched. Thank you Camberwick Green, Chigley and Trumpton - pure joy.

It was rubbish. Kids have got it so much better today with the internet. Britain was never innocent, haven't you heard of the empire and colonialism? We were oppressing the Irish at this very time too. Bet you're a brexiteer harking back to an imaginary time?

Ah...such memories. A time when children could have a proper childhood, and were easily pleased. A time of innocence too, sadly long gone. Dear Brian Cant, he was a wonderful entertainer and brought the characters to life so lovingly with his beautiful voice...possibly the best children's entertainer of the 70s.

Do take off those rose tinted glasses. There were just as many problems back then as there are now - different problems in some regards but generally speaking nothing much has changed if you ignore the headlines and look at the actual facts.

Based on watching the Trumpton trilogy back in the late 70s/early 80s I wanted to be either a Fireman or work in a Biscuit Factory when I "grew up", well the Trumpton Firemen never did attend any actual fires, and always did that Band concert on a Thursday where they played the exact same tune every week.

The music box used to scare the crap out of me...took me years to be able to watch it. Even now I get a weird feeling!

@@highpath4776 I was never scared of the clown or the music box. In fact I found the box bit exciting, waiting to see who would pop out.

Goodness me what a trip down an innocent memory lane, I consider myself lucky to have been a child back then, taught me values and we had to make our own entertainment then with just a few tv channels....and then we got to the late 70's and Grange Hill on BBC 1 ....loved it but was that the start of the rott ?'.......lol

Absolutely fantastic!! Bring back Camberwick Green Chigley and Trumpton and all those old shows . Kids don't know what they're missing with all their computer generated rubbish these days. Sorry to sound like an old fuddy-duddy but it's true! These programes were genius and kids need to see that.

Oh...... is that all; - I thought we were going to get the whole gloriously fantastic oppening to that wonderful programe. Ahh well ; one can hope. It's interesting how different people remember different shows. I always remember Trumpton very fondly. I'm 34 now just in case you're wondering, But I hear so much about Camberwick Green and Chigley yet I don't remember the programe going by that name. Perhas it all merges in to one , with the advancement of time. Great memories never the less.

I was in a town. A very old town with a past of flying spitfires. And A very old man looked upon an airfield from the very first bay window with a base of solid stone..

At 0:45 really think about how it felt to be a child, the things you used to do & if you have any sole you will cry.
