Rt really shows how success is raised from failure. From literally spending 5 hours doing nothing fighting the godskin now he’s thriving with his str build and often do bosses in his first or a few tries.
For an explaination as to why Godfrey killed his cat, it's sort of like, not a real cat? When Hoarah became Godfrey during his marriage, he gave up his Rage, which then became the big lion. So Godfrey kills it and reverts back to his old, rageful self in order to fight you.
I like that every str player instantly switches its weapons for either the big hammer or the big bleeding wheel the second they find them, so did I, big hammer is a strong argument against anything
I had a dream that RT was doing another Elden Ring run, the stream was titled “because God told me to” and it consisted of him going out of his way to kill every single npc in the game.
For a split second I was like "was the final boss seriously a buff old man?" Of _course_ it's a giant cosmos dragon with a sword. I'm sorry for ever doubting Fromsoft

32:41 in case someone's confused there's a statue somewhere where if you use a certain incantation, provides a clue on what is happening between Marika and Radagon *spoilers* Some time before the tarnished has awoken Radagon and Marika became one with only the color of their hair indicating which of two is in control (Marika for Blonde and Radagon for Red)
it’s safe to say “you’re not queen marika” was everybody’s reaction, but miyazaki screams SIKE and you’re hit in the face with gods struggling with mental health, or something
It’s actually a big discussion whether Radagon and Marika used to be different people that fused into one being, or a single being with split personality.
So, to my understanding, the first time the rune of death was used after being stolen from Maliketh's safekeeping, one half was used to kill Godwyn's soul and the other half was used to kill Ranni's body. This usage pretty much re-enabled death to the demigods, who cannot die up until then, but not anything else. After that, the rune dispersed into deathroots, which we may (or may not) unwittingly help Maliketh in collecting. Then afterward, once we defeat Maliketh and obtained the completed rune of death, (probably what) allowing us to kill the likes of Elden beast. But at the same time the rune returned death to everyone else in the Lands Between?
Base ER ending is the fractured ending. In this ending the world isn't restored, you just place yourself as Elden Lord over the remains of what the demi-gods fought over and Marika fucked up. To actually make things right you need to do Ranni's ending, the Order ending or the Duskborn ending. Ranni takes away Order and thus the influence of the Outer God named Greater Will (who the Two Fingers serve). Instead the world is now influenced by the Dark Moon, Ranni's patron deity and you join Ranni at her side as lord. Order Ending restores the world to basically how it was before Marika broke the Elden Ring (which should unfuck death for everyone). Duskborn ending see you fuck with death this time, you introduce the idea of life within death to the world. It reintroduces death but it also does something to death what exactly is unclear. As for the two remaining endings, they are the two truly evil endings, either covering everything in a horrible terrible evil curse, or just burning it all down because why not?
@@NATIK001 For the burning everything down ending, the reason you burn the world is because the Frenzied Flame told you to. Why it does this is because once everything was the same thing, that thing being the Frenzied Flame, but then the Greater Will split from the Frenzied Flame, then maybe the other outer gods did too, not 100% certain on that one, and at that point, the Frenzied Flame wanted it's bodyparts back. By burning the world down, you essentially boil it down and merge it all back into the Frenzied Flame: Removing all things from existence and leaving only the flame behind. This is still an evil ending, but it's an evil ending that's a bit more complex than "why not lol". Or at least, that's what the Frenzied Flame was, this being a soulsborne game your characters motivations are unknowable and you might actually just be burning it down because "why not lol". Sorry for the lore dump but i really wanted to share lol
No way is this a comment with 523 likes, hearted by RT, and has ZERO replies. Guess I’ll just say I completely agree, especially the editor part, massive respect.
So, fun fact, there's a mistranslation in Ranni's dialogue there and this is actually the ANTI-Bloodborne ending. In JP, she basically pledges to keep the meddling of forces from beyond the realm of space and time away forever, so no more Naturalborns, no more Falling Starbeasts, no more Greater Will.
What I cobbled together from her other dialogue was that she seeks to remove the interferences of all powers, (including her and us?), from the "normal" world. Thus leaving a world of "fear" and "loneliness", for there are no active gods and powers in the life of the people, which might scare those acustomed to the Golden Order. I guess it is also lonely for her and us, doing whatever mystery pondering "we" are doing meanwhile.
@@DeutscherDummer The fear and loneliness refers to the thousand year journey Ranni and the player have to make. Ranni wants the people to grow independent and not rely on outer gods but to do this, she needs to remove herself and you, the Elden lord. That’s also why she says a thousand years and not forever, it’s to give the people time to learn how to exist without gods.
In the English dialogue this is implied to an extent. Probably could have been more clear though. She's removing the 'order' or godlike powers from the world, leaving mortals to fend for themselves and in doing so gain autonomy.
RT has successfully gotten the best achievement of all! (Or maybe not to some) Although part of me does wish that he had talked to her a bit more on the tower to get the "Dear Consort, Eternal" bit, but its still very nice~
@@Anonymous-ss1kg That grace did look suspicious, but I didn't think I would have to talk to the doll again, I thought maybe she would show up and when she didn't I just continued on to the end of the game. Damn.
@@Erick-tv8oq Well, she does but ya gotta do the blue summon sigil thing iirc to get her there. This bit only applies to a small easter egg, or rather, reward for spending more time with Ranni than what was needed
The blood loss dogs are a bug I think (or From Software getting particularly cruel). The audio of that one specific attack overlays itself 100 times, meaning the attack overlaps 100 times causing an instant one shot and blood loss
I don't think it's 100 but yeah they proc 7ish times or something? So you get 7 instant bleed process for 15% of your health and die instantly. It's either a joke or a bug but it seems to be on particular dogs.
I'd like to image the two madmen giggling while discussing about the swaps "So I'll make this very huge swamp but this time it made out of super AIDS" "Yo, let's make it necessary for the players to cross it. I'd say we put a waifu on the other side. Those maidenless peeps would swim through it even at the cost of their life" "Genius. You know what? Why don't we add a boss in there as well"
Just wanted to mention that (unless edited it out) you missed the best dragon fight in the game. Go back to that grace where the indoor pool is with the lightning guys (in Farum Azula), just outside you can drop down a tiny ledge. From there the path is clear. It's a completely unique dragon fight and my personal favorite dragon fight From Software has ever done (and he's not all that difficult tbh).
he did a stream yesterday i believe, where he does the quests he missed, bosses, and secrets, i watched the stream and he does find this boss, just wait a bit for the next stream highlight
Got the best ending too! ranni, just like almost everything in this game, is amazing and i love her questline almost as much as i loved watching this play through both through the videos and the streams. Congrats on beating the game and thank you for all the great content looking forward to that last highlights video!
I was spooked because I thought the last video was going to be your last one on elden ring, and it made me so happy to see you upload another elden ring video because you make this series so entertaining. Thank you RT for everything you do
Weird bit but I appreciate that when the bosses hurt themselves they actually take damage, the giant lost a chunk of health from tearing it's leg off the stick boy got poison/slow bleed when he took of his arm and jammed it in the dragon head
I love the design of the elden beast. I feel like a lot of elden ring designs are very derivative of prior fromsoft works (mainly souls, but also a bit of bloodborne). Elden beast really feels like something new and interesting, though. Maybe I just like it because it reminds me of the Plasm Wraith from Pikmin, though, lol.
The whole time watching it I was wrestling with how I felt. It was so... amorphous. And the fight itself was like beyond information overload, just constant fireworks in your face. But it was about as epic as a boss gets, and it was indeed completely unique
I liked it visually as well, and the music was great, but as an actual fight I found it very lacking. It's moves are fairly limited, involving a lot of running away for longer periods and then hitting a bunch until it goes away again. Radagon is a lot more interactive and intense (apart from the teleport aoe dmg). Additionally, the camera sucks in melee with these huge bosses. I also find the "symbolic" effect of the boss is not that great, especially as it has not much lore. Gwyn and Nashandra were established characters with a lot of lore, same with most final DLC bosses. Soul of Cinder sticks out a bit, but it makes a lot of sense as a representation of former fire-linkers, particularly Gwyn in the second phase. Those are things easily picked up by the player and even represented by the different weapons/movesets. Elden Beast is just a beautiful looking blob, but what is it? What does it represent in/by its form?
@@DeutscherDummer I mean, if you actually want the answer to what it is within the lore, it's in part the Greater Will's primary avatar in the Lands Between, in part serving the role of shadow to Marika/Radagon like Godfrey's cat. The final boss is like the reversal of the penultimate boss encounter; Godfrey murders his lion so he can fight you as a free man, while Radagon surrenders himself to the Greater Will so that the Golden Order can be maintained. The Greater Will is a celestial outsider like some of those other optional outer god boss battles, thus the constellation spine and galaxy starburst explosions. Honestly, being confused by that part of the design seems a bit hyperbolic, since if anything it's overly on-the-nose cool outer space themed. (Also, the general model references a lot of the same sources as the Divine Dragon from Legend of Dragoon and original FF7 Safer Sephiroth. The Elden Ring and Elden Tree are at least tangentially related in inspiration to the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. And Fromsoft loves their alchemy.)
@@Shalakor That helps somewhat, although I don't see how we know the Elden Beast to be a shadow to Marika/Radagon (like Maliketh, Serosh and Blaidd are), in fact that would give it a lesser role than the remembrance implies. It just says " the vassal beast of the Greater Will and living incarnation of the concept of Order". That to me sounds it is subservient only to the Greater Will and is the Elden Ring, while Marika/Radagon are in turn the vessels of it. In any case, my point is more about what the boss as a final boss means to the player, prior and while fighting it. That's why I pulled up all the examples of Isshin, Gehrman, Aldia and Nashandra, Gwyn, Friede and Gael (they are not final bosses, but for their DLCs they are and very memorable ones at that). We might argue about the Soul of Cinder and Moonpresence being not... expected I guess, but I think they are more established and their relation to the player's journey "felt" more clear than the Elden Beast. All the sparse lore we get is from the remembrance, a thing we get only after the fight. These are just my attempts to describe why I felt a bit disappointed by it compared to most other Fromsoft (final) encounters. It did not help that Radagon was a mechanically much more interesting and tense fight. The final boss of a game leaves often one of the strongest impressions on the player, the Elden Beast did not fill that role as good as I hoped it to be filled. I won't argue against it graphically and regarding the soundtrack though, it is great in those ways.
Hey armored core is a niche cult classic alright, they're making a new one and I hope you're going to give it a shot. That aside, it's been an amazing journey through this game RT. @@selenagamya1612 Avoiding fatigue of the franchise and generally diversifying their modern portfolio would also be a really good idea. Info for everybody: if you do ALL the ending-related-quests, you can savescum your way through all the different endings from right after you killed the Elden Beast. Only one you have to plan for a little bit better is the Lord of Frenzied Flame, which locks you out of all the other endings (unless you do a pretty convoluted but personally highly recommend quest - Google Millicent to find out). I also have no idea if the LoFF ending is accessible after you burn the Erdtree.

0:32 That there, my friend, is a notorious glitch. That's a certain type of bleed-dog that can damage you once per gametick, and thus bleed you once per gametick, as opposed to once per time the attack hitbox overlaps your hitbox.
The journey from a very sad Todd Howard into The Almighty God Howard is much more anime than what George Martin would have probably imagined. He even actually got the girl in the end, biggest Chad.

The thing is, lighting the tree IS NOT the point of no return. Beating the main boss of Faram Azula is, as that is what causes Leyndell to be covered in ash. Otherwise, the tree is burning but you can still fully explore the city
I do love the fact that this game hides severely needed context for Marika/radagon behind the goldmask/age of order quest line which not only requires you to find goldmask several times, have an insane amount of int and faith to cast one spell, and do all that before the endgame gets activated. Only then do you get the context of those two/one. Got to love fromsoft’s story telling.
I saw a comment on a video about the Ranni ending and it went something like this. "In Dark Souls I was all about 'PRAISE THE SUN!' but in Elden Ring I'm all about that Dark Moon."
Man, the bosses in this game are SO GOOD!!! The standouts to me (in this video) have to be the Fire Giant, the Beast Clergyman, Godfrey, Mohg and the final boss. Fire Giant: The cutscene for his second phase is really good. HE TORE OFF HIS OWN LEG!! And because he's a giant, the sound is so much worse. Beast Clergyman: I love the music that plays during the phase 2 cutscene. It really gives this tone that you shouldn't be messing with him. And his phase 2 shows that. Godfrey: This is just a cool boss. The first Elden Lord forgoes all of that to fight you as a warrior. Mohg: The Lord of Blood is such an epic title, and boy does he live up to it. His phase 2 has a really cool intro. No cutscene, just in the fight. Also, fun fact I learned, when you use the bloodflame magic, you cut into a formless god, and use that being's blood. The final boss is just gorgeous. The arena is beautiful, the theme is beautiful. THIS GAME IS SO GOOD!!!!
the fire giant in 10:00 is a clearly inspiration in a mytology creature in brazil's folclore. Is called "mapinguari" and its design is the same as phase 2 of the Fire giant. VIVA BRASIL OLÉ SAMBA

Thank you for all the editing effort!! Absolutely love this series
As always, the game has somewhat anti-capitalist messages, however now it’s somewhat also anarchy now
@@alwest4472 What in the fuck does removing gods and space beings have to do with being anti capitalism
RT has successfully gotten the best achievement of all! (Or maybe not to some)
Although part of me does wish that he had talked to her a bit more on the tower to get the "Dear Consort, Eternal" bit, but its still very nice~
What tower?
@@Erick-tv8oq Where ya meet Ranni herself
@@Anonymous-ss1kg That grace did look suspicious, but I didn't think I would have to talk to the doll again, I thought maybe she would show up and when she didn't I just continued on to the end of the game. Damn.
@@Erick-tv8oq Well, she does but ya gotta do the blue summon sigil thing iirc to get her there. This bit only applies to a small easter egg, or rather, reward for spending more time with Ranni than what was needed
The blood loss dogs are a bug I think (or From Software getting particularly cruel). The audio of that one specific attack overlays itself 100 times, meaning the attack overlaps 100 times causing an instant one shot and blood loss
yeah my normal block then guard counter tactic does not work against blood loss dogs, they almost instantly proc me
I don't think it's 100 but yeah they proc 7ish times or something? So you get 7 instant bleed process for 15% of your health and die instantly.
It's either a joke or a bug but it seems to be on particular dogs.
I saw a slowed down webm of their attack. It hits every frame instead of once.

Miyazaki literally said in some interview that with elden ring he rediscovered his love for making swamp levels.
I'd like to image the two madmen giggling while discussing about the swaps

"Yo, let's make it necessary for the players to cross it. I'd say we put a waifu on the other side. Those maidenless peeps would swim through it even at the cost of their life"

Exclusively attacking the one armoured part of the fire giant for the whole fight is an interesting strategy
@@NyesoEX Ah, thank you much.
@@NyesoEX I couldn’t believe he missed the deep root depths stuff, unless that didn’t make the cut
@@mmsL125 it made the cut in the last highlights
I like how the final cutscene ends right before you take Ranni’s hand. Not even the developers knew which one you’re supposed to take.
Thank you RT for everything you do
Petition to name the secrets video “beating elden ring with secretive stupid means”
Finishing maybe instead of beating?
RT is the living embodiment of the seagulls from Finding Nemo when bosses are under half health, and sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's torture
Just an observation, but it's amazing how different the Godfrey fight looks depending on the time of day...
Weird bit but I appreciate that when the bosses hurt themselves they actually take damage, the giant lost a chunk of health from tearing it's leg off the stick boy got poison/slow bleed when he took of his arm and jammed it in the dragon head
Actually godrick doesn’t normally lose health from that it was from the jellyfish
I reminds me a lot of the tree god from princess mononoke, it makes me wonder if Lobo is supposed to be a reference to that too
I liked it visually as well, and the music was great, but as an actual fight I found it very lacking.
Watching you go from a lost naked man to finally finishing the game has been something I've been looking forward to these past while. Great job!

Beloved editor, you are extremely skilled (and extremely kind) to condense such long streams into shorter videos! I couldn't possibly watch through all the vods, so I'm thrilled to be able to follow RT's very unorthodox playthough :)

RT tends to get overwhelmed by multiple enemies at once a lot, if only he had some kind of AOE attack...
The idea that there is an ending for every From Software game implies the existence of a Kuri Kuri Mix ending and I don't think anyone is prepared for that.

I managed to run through the game at the same pace as you were going uploading these videos. It was really fun to see how the fights go differently for how different our builds are (I basically went hard on faith, and some int.)

15:21 technically not a lie, the dragon wasn't ahead, it was behind.

Yeah, I agree!
the fire giant in 10:00 is a clearly inspiration in a mytology creature in brazil's folclore. Is called "mapinguari" and its design is the same as phase 2 of the Fire giant. VIVA BRASIL OLÉ SAMBA
