    1. Your product is the solution to a problem
    2. Your product needs to be viable for ecommerce
    3. You need to be able to communicate how you're different
    4. Your customer is not everyone
    5. You can build an audience without having a product

      let's use the principle of e-commerce in physical stores
      I explain:
      every store in the world is 1.0
      in this store, products almost never change
      and the owner chose the products
      it is boring
      now, there must be a new store 2.0
      in this store, products always change
      and people choose the products there will be via an app
      on the app, there is a huge catalog, people choose the products that will show up in the store
      the store is constantly being supplied with the products people choose

    Thank you so much @foundr & @Gretta for the valuable information. Below are notes that I have taken from the video for anyone to read and use. Enjoy
    5 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING AN ECOMMERCE BUSINESS
    1. Product should be a solution to a problem
    - Look for a problem then use your product as the solution
    - Focus on a niche you're passionate with
    - Turn the problem into a question, then use your product as the answer
    - Look for products with the least saturation/unsatisfied demand
    2. Product should be viable for ecommerce
    - Factors to consider is;
    Can it be shipped worldwide?
    How heavy is it?
    Is it safe for the consumer?
    Production cost and margins
    3. Product should be able to be unique from the competition
    - What makes you different? You don't have to create a new product
    - Factors to consider are;
    Design
    Function
    Time
    Price
    4. Targeted market/Specific customer
    - Know your clients who'll be interested. Who will want to enjoy your products and tell their family and friends about it.
    - Ways of doing this is by;
    Creating an ideal persona
    Do research from your competitors
    Can be audience centric. Examples; age, gender, location, income level, interests, values, personality etc.
    Can be product centric. Examples; design, function, price, time etc.
    5. Build an audience before launch
    - Create a theme on your Instagram page in relation to the problem you're solving
    - Use hashtags from pages that have a lot of tags/following
    - You can repost viral content and credit the source
    - Use a Instagram business account to be able to access analytics
    - Use a website for converging potential clients. Put it in your bio
    - Post a lot of valuable content; preferably 2 posts in the morning, 2 posts in the afternoon then 2 posts at night

    the straw thingy is nice but whenever you go to a snackbar or something and order a milkshake there is no way they will give you a recycable straw so at least 3-4 straws are not gonna be used by snackbars and will probarbly trick you in to buying or too much of that item or isnt going too sell

    I’ll definitely need a partner to help me with the marketing side of things for what I want to do because marketing just doesn’t click with me. It all makes sense as I watch videos about it, but I can’t think off the top of my head about it on my own

    Don't use copper. The FDA warns against using unlined copper cookware since the metal easily can leach into acidic foods, causing copper toxicity. So it's not suitable to make straws of. I know it was just an example, I only wanted to inform anyone thinking of using it.

    She’s from Melbourne Australia, I’ve watched her different interviews on television, over the last few years,here in Australia. She’s quite good at what she does, but she’s the only successful individual, that I’ve watched here in Australia, who’s made a very successful internet business.
    Their are many successful people, who are making money on the internet, but she seems to be well above average, when it comes to internet success stories.

    My question is this. Even though I have yet to start my first E commerce business or opened my first Online Store I have more than one interest or passion that I think I might could parlay into success (being optimistic of course). Is it better to create one store and add brands as you succeed or is it better to have each brand be its on separate entity and store? If they are separate can they all link back to my one business name or do I have to have separate business names, stores and brands? If I can add brands to one central Store should my store name be non specific to a certain category? I ask these questions because I want to start in the right direction even if I do not expand to other Brands or stores in the future. I am new to this and I am currently watching and reading a lot of material gathering a consensus of thought and direction. I have multiple passions so if I have success I may want to try and duplicate in a different category. But I want to start out as if I will have success and I will add in other categories although these categories may not actually go together. Does this make sense and can you give me your thoughts? Thank You
