I couldn't agree more, nightmare is the accurate description. My HP "smart" app crashes frequently and I could spend up to 20minutes trying to scan one document. Absurdity at its finest.
I agree! I USED to LOVE HP printers, now they just want you to subscribe so they can get you to promise them money, as well as if you don't buy their TERRIBLY EXPENSIVE cartriges, they will NOT RUN!! STAY AWAY FROM HP.
I'll never own another HP printer. We've had two and both have wound up being undependable after a while plus their ink is expensive. Switched to Brother and what a difference in the reliability and their ink is cheaper where we purchase it from.
Thank you for your comment. I was seeking home printer reviews because I wanted to find a better printer than an HP. I bought three HP‘s, and all of them wound up to be crap after a while.
yes!! I literally came to this video after being insanely frustrated with an HP printer we bought and NEVER were able to set up. its such an unbearable process and Im pretty sure the printer is just not working properly... promised myself I'll buy anything other than HP
Brother all the way #1. I bought my laser printer in 2018 and still use it daily in 2024 without a problem. Laser cartridge costs about 80$ BUT lasts at least a year and will never dry out unlike ink
Brother just made a update that make my printer unusable!!! She was working perfectly before the update (for 4 years… )Now refilled cartridge don’t work anymore!!! It should be illegal to do that!!! If i put generic brake pads on my car it will still work and Honda will not stop my car from working!!!
I’ve had several HP printers, their service SUCKS, warranty is you buy another one when it breaks. Scanning is problematic too. If you have several users, don’t, just don’t.
@@flanks333 - No, you can return a new one. But if your problems occur at 9 months into a 2 year warranty, they say sorry, that part isn’t covered (ink cartridge frame for example).
Thanks for this insight. I was planning to buy their printer since it will be compatible to my hp laptop. Guess i have to buy my first choice which is brother or epson. By the way my second option was hp printer or canon
HP printers are the worst. I am trying to get the right Catridge for the model I use..even though it’s made in Malaysia it’s not available in the local market..I have to ship it from Dubai and end of the day it won’t work..the full set catridge cost same as printer cost..I will never ever buy any HP
I have an older HP Deskjet Plus 4152 printer and it's the biggest pain in the a$$. Wireless is absolutely useless - never worked. Also an absolute nightmare to get the piece of junk to setup. Download software, restart the system, restart the system, pull out the cables, try again...yada yada yada. It's always been the same. I'd like to use it as an anchor, but it's plastic and might float...
That HP ink program scammed us. When we filed a complaint there was nothing other than our next ink was “ free” only one time did we receive our ink . No more HP products for me.
The HP instant ink is a nightmare when we had to buy Genuine HP ink from pc world they disabled our printer, a brand new HP 304 Cartridge suddenly shows as depleted after a few minutes light printing. Avoid this company at all costs. It’s criminal that HP can stop your printer from working all because they have not delivered on the HP instant ink agreement.
HP is the worst as it doesnt alllow you to use after market ink cartridges and will disable printing until you use their cartridges. I would avoid them at all costs. The software says it allows you to turn off the software that blocks third party ink but currently, mine changed the menu options and doesnt allow for it to be disabled so I have a large brick on my desk. Will look at Canon or Epson.....probably the tank printers.
What do you expect from a company that is one of the biggest contributor to the genocidal apartheid occupier.. Used one 14 years ago and it was so crappy it broke in a year. Jumoed ship to brother and never looked back
Why are printers being made to require internet? I understand that there are advantages but as a requirement it is completely ridiculous. It's like requiring your car to have air conditioning to start. Anyone know which printer I can buy that does not require internet?
Bought hp printer from Best Buy. Couldn’t set it up without downloading app and buying the ink program. Couldn’t connect to WiFi. Called official number who wanted me to download mirroring app from store. Reviews were all it was a scam, stole thousands from me etc. I returned it for cannon pixma 770
So I’m willing to pay a little bit more to get a really great printer. Probably up to six or $700. I don’t print often probably only two or three times a month but when I do I typically print 100 or 200 pages of charts graphs and classroom curriculum. I want really high-quality prints at the cheapest possible per page cost. I teach financial literacy classes for adults. And I want the documents to look good. And I would say I actually use the printer the most for double-sided scanning. I probably do that every day. Do you have a recommendation?
Hello, I want a color printer that prints high-quality color photos, can scan and print documents, and can handle large paper sizes like A3. I need it for home use with kids to school, so it should be reliable, durable and have affordable ink and have cheap ink
Hey everyone! I’ve got a question. I’ve watched tons of videos trying to figure out the best printer for me, but I still haven’t made up my mind. I have a printer (HP Laser Print 178nwg) that I use quite a bit, around 200/300 prints a month, 90% in black and white. But I’m not too happy with it - the software glitches a lot, the internet connection isn’t great, and the toner prices are pretty high… Does anyone have any recommendations for a printer?
Ink jet printers are terrible, avoid them at all costs. They are slow as all hell, they clog up constantly, the ink doesn’t last very long, and it’s extremely expensive. The only question you should be asking is do I want a color or a black and white laser printer. I thought I wanted a color one but I ended up buying a black and white model due to the faster speed and lower costs, both up front and long term. Anyway having owned a black and white model for a couple years with zero issues I can’t think of a time I thought “I wish I had a color printer”.
HP printers are the worst. I am trying to get the right Catridge for the model I use..even though it’s made in Malaysia it’s not available in the local market..I have to ship it from Dubai and end of the day it won’t work..the full set catridge cost same as printer cost..I will never ever buy any HP products
HP subscription ink is a TERRIBLE service! Search the internet and you'll see what I'm talking about. HP wil kill switch your printer if you cancel subscription EVEN IF YOU STILL HAVE NEW CARTRIDGES IN THE PRINTER.
HP Printers are rubbish, I have had 2 HP Envy 6432 AiO printers within the last year. The first one broke down 8 months and the current replacement they sent me is Rubbish. I am on the instant ink program but that is no good when I can't use it as it crashes a lot and the HP Smart App is crap too.
I had the HP 9015e and it did not last one year. Piece of junk. Lot of complaints online about this printer failing within a year. HP used to make quality printers but today HP printers are junk. Will never buy another HP printer.
Instant ink a complete nightmare, we ended up with three coloured inks and no black. We had to buy our own HP black ink cartridge when they wouldn’t send us ink in time. Their customer service is horrendous. And instant ink just doesn’t work properly. They expected us to close the office and wait for their little brown package to arrive, a complete joke.
OH hell no...DO NOT buy any HP products, they have worst warranty (and many times don't want to even honer them!!) they have the smallest amount of ink in their cartridges, so hat you have to buy them so much more often!,...and worst customer service!!! I will Never buy anything from them ever again!
HP leave it until the last minute to dispatch replacement ink which means by the time it arrives your printer has ran out of ink. You then have to go and buy ink elsewhere then HP stop your printer from working until their ink has arrived and been installed It’s a catch 22 and extremely stressful when trying to run a small business. Worse thing we have ever done in 15 years of business.
my Canon goes to service centre every year for any reason. not printing enough then heads clogs, printing too much, paper jam... every time they find something you have to pay. lousy
Don't get the Epson Eco tank I have one and I hate it it dries out the ink all the time and you waste so much ink trying to clean the printheads that there's no way to get the output that they claim! go laser for sure.
From personal experiences I can say that HP printers are disposable trash. Poor quality, unreliable, error prone. Their ink cartridges are the most expensive in the industry. Also, they have no customer support. All they offer are canned e-mails and links to useless video clips. Avoid this brand printers at all cost. You'll be glad you did.
These 'home' printers look like humongous office equipment 🏬 Why have printers become so enormous, bulky, buttony, expensive and why do they still have scanners and fax machines inside them?! They should be better than 20yrs ago. Not worse.

The HP "Smart" software is awful and trying to use it without the subscription is a nightmare. Plus the ink cartages are $130.
I couldn't agree more, nightmare is the accurate description. My HP "smart" app crashes frequently and I could spend up to 20minutes trying to scan one document. Absurdity at its finest.

OMG...for 130$ we'll get a new Epson ink tank printer in India
HP Making money is their only calling. How can they make anyone's lists on good printers is a mystery, known only to banks.
HP are friggin Nazis
I'll never own another HP printer. We've had two and both have wound up being undependable after a while plus their ink is expensive. Switched to Brother and what a difference in the reliability and their ink is cheaper where we purchase it from.
Thanks for this insight😅. I was planning to buy an hp printer since i have an hp laptop so that it will be compatible.
Thank you for your comment. I was seeking home printer reviews because I wanted to find a better printer than an HP. I bought three HP‘s, and all of them wound up to be crap after a while.
We have a HP 4100 . I will never buy another one. It finally went “off line” and can’t get it back. That is why I am looking at this video.
yes!! I literally came to this video after being insanely frustrated with an HP printer we bought and NEVER were able to set up. its such an unbearable process and Im pretty sure the printer is just not working properly... promised myself I'll buy anything other than HP

Throwing a brand new one away
@@flanks333 - No, you can return a new one. But if your problems occur at 9 months into a 2 year warranty, they say sorry, that part isn’t covered (ink cartridge frame for example).
This review is crap. Pushing HP and their subscription service. You can’t use the hp without a subscription
Even the laser ones?
Thanks for this insight. I was planning to buy their printer since it will be compatible to my hp laptop. Guess i have to buy my first choice which is brother or epson. By the way my second option was hp printer or canon
HP sux
Why do you say you can't use hp printer without subscription service when you can?
HP is garbage!
HP has A LOT of connectivity issues. Good luck with that.
Exactly I hate my HP printer! 😂
HP printers are the worst. Brother MFC L2750DW: you can printer when you're ready and save on toner. Plus this printer works well in the all around category.
Can it print double sided?
How long does the brother printer last?
The fact you even include HP and their horrible consumer practices is reason enough to know this channel is a sham.

@@mdrkd you're a bot....cant even speak coherently
I usually scream at mine to work. It doesn't listen.
If the printer cost over $60 and doesn’t have a usb port. Don’t buy it. And don’t buy it if it cost too much in the first place.
What about canon maxify 4040?
Why are printers being made to require internet? I understand that there are advantages but as a requirement it is completely ridiculous. It's like requiring your car to have air conditioning to start. Anyone know which printer I can buy that does not require internet?
I feel ya there. It seems like the moment they hook to the net, the manufacturers can mess around with it.

I relied on HP for years. Forgiving the random issues that others have mentioned here. I'm done. No more HP. They are sketchy.

Epson ET-5800 is a great printer that fits in your price point. 2 years of free ink too 🙂
Hello, I want a color printer that prints high-quality color photos, can scan and print documents, and can handle large paper sizes like A3. I need it for home use with kids to school, so it should be reliable, durable and have affordable ink and have cheap ink
what is duplex scanning?
That means it scans both sides (front and back) of a paper at once.

Please educate yourself about the HP subscription.
There's no comment about the photo print quality of the Epson though...
A lot of small businesses use epson so just look up more videos
Epson 2800 are no good because if it act up and you have to service that cost 50 bucks for them to do so?
Can there printers handle printing business cards and stickers
I cant fathom why they still put bulky old scanners inside printers.
Avoid HP AT ALL COST, you already have plenty of challenges in your life, why would you add HP to the list???
