I wouldn’t let her in. The mil is ridiculous. How are people so weak? Stand up for yourself. If you put up with this kind of abuse then it’s totally your fault. I don’t feel bad for people when they let this kind of stuff happen.
This is obviously not in the UK.Our police would not go to all that trouble for a break in where nothing was stolen. They would just tell you to claim for the window on your insurance and write the mother in law as having early on set dementia.
Breaking and entering isn't a crime in Britain? I kind of think police will show up for breaking and entering. I know they will in the U.S. They probably won't arrest you but make you pay damages. Just explain it and pay

They would just write it up as a family matter tell them to claim on the insurance for insurance for the window and that would be it. The police here not want to be bothered in this situation.
