As soon as my parents found out she got all her trademarks and stuff back, they started binging her videos on UA-cam and just having it play in the background on repeat in an effort to support her. This poor girl. She didn’t deserve any of the backlash she has received.

I was so obsessed with Liziqi... When she disappeared I went full detective mode and scoured the whole internet for any morsel of information for what happened.... That's because most of the coverage and info of what happened to her are in Chinese, most of the videos are, there are some English videos about what happened if you dig deep enough, but I would assume the Chinese ones has more details.

Li Ziqi is facing a lot of obstacle, it only means she's a strong person. I will wait for her to come back. She's an inspiration. She was the reason I started gardening vegtables, fruit trees and ornamental plants. Mr. L is an evil who brought hell in this amazing woman's life..what a horrible creature!

yeah but this is quite common in communist china its like forbidden for chinese people to get extreme popularity all throughout the world . china's leader wont let that happen you cannot be more famous and popular than "the leader". coz you are basically will have that strong influence and power to people within china and abroad. for example, Fan bingbing who became sooo famous and popular and gets the recognition abroad by starring in "xmen days of future past" she suddenly gone,and the tech tycoon Jack ma who the moment he start popping out in mainstream media specially in the west all of a sudden gone and went hiatus . and there's a lot more.. its like you can only be famous within inside china but not worlwide.

I heard about the situation and was so upset to what they did to her. BUT THEN I heard good news and she said she'll be back when she's ready. I'm patiently always waiting. Her videos is so healing, inspirational and creative. Hope to see her soon and that she's better than ever. I missed Liziqi.

My stepmother is a village girl and came from a poor family too and she wasn't an educated woman but her skills in cooking, making simple furniture, and her random knowledge about life are amazing as a result of her hard life and continuous learning from her parents and her surroundings. So I really don't understand why people felt so unbelievable and doubt Liziqi can do all this sort of things. Just because you can't do it, doesn't mean others can't.

I remember first discovering her content back in 2019. So during the early stages of lockdown, my Mom and I would just sit in front of my laptop and watch her for hours on end, in complete awe of her skills and production quality. To put it simply, her videos were eye candy and we ate it up.

THANK YOU FOR THIS. I've missed Liziqi so much and her situation is soo frustrating. And the way she birthed and inspired an entire genre of UA-camrs/creators, she's so amazing. She's talented and never deserved the treatment she got, she deserved justice. I hope she's able to come back one day.

Her videos have been with me for so many years. I adore her way of filming, the quiet cooking, the planting and harvesting, the insane furniture making, the time she made bedding and started by cultivating silk worms?? Her videos were always so full of creativity and LIFE. I'm beyond devastated that she was taken advantage of so radically and I'm really hoping she'll come back to us one day.
She is phenomenally gifted. I introduced her videos to my daughter in law and told her that I think Liziqi is an gifted alien or something from out of this world. She's definitely one of a kind individual. I love and miss her videos. It brings so much peace, inspiration, love, joy, and humility to my heart. Thanks, Stephanie for updating us on her. I always wondered what happened to L.

I still remember watching one of her videos by accident during the covid pandemic , her content is what got me and my family through the lockdown , we would binge watch her vids nonstop for literal hours and never get bored , she portrayed such a peaceful healthy lifestyle , It's like she was taking all of her viewers to a journey into her world where there was nothing but her , her grandma and the open nature !
The Kimchi "scandal" made me think: Maybe Liziqi was referring to the vegetable that was used in the pickle dish? Because the vegetable is widely known as "Chinese cabbage" in English and also Europe.
Li Ziqi was doing a variation of Sichuan Pao Cai. That’s when things get blurry. Because both Kimchi and Chinese Pao Cai are essentially fermented veg. And China has huge regional differences of this dish like most of their other foods, some are very different from Korean Kimchi and others are similar in other parts of China.
@@rosedream8702exactly. Especially as there is a korean ethnic minority in northeast china, near to the nk border, where there is ancestral korean land. They are essentially culturally and biologically the same as north koreans, but are within the borders of china, so are chinese by nationality. Thats essentially the root of many korean-chinese cultural arguments, but it isnt a well known enough fact to be talked about enough even though it is literally the entire reason 😔

At honestly the worst parts of my life so far, liziqi helped me calm down. During school when the stress was way too high, she calmed me down. When it was lock down and I couldn't go outside, gardened because of her! That woman was single handedly saving my mental health.

I wish I could tell her that personally, she deserves to hear the impact she's had on lives and to know even if the world is against her, some of us will always support her.

My mom and my late grandma used to watch her almost every day before my grandma died back in 2021. She was a source of inspiration and sort of an escape from the hardships we have been going through. It's heartbreaking how people just bask in hating other people for the most minute reasons and even instances where there was none in the first place..

Me too. I'm not Asian but I find it interesting hearing these stories from very different places to what I'm used to. I got into Stephanie's content with her true crime stuff and found the Asian cases interesting, because it wasn't the same American or sometimes British cases everyone else in that sector covers.

I used to watch Liziqi videos with my grandma during lunch everyday during the period that I looked after her a few years ago.
I would play a new video a day so that I would have something to talk about with my grandma and she can reminisce on her past in China. I was sad when the videos stopped uploading.
My grandma has passed away now but it was good memories to look back on.
I lost my grandparents by the age of 16. My grandmother and I were so close. I never got to ask her about her life and our families story. I would have KILLED to spend the pandemic with my grandmother watching her videos.
Cherish those memories. You’re so lucky. She was too. I bet that time meant the world to her.
I’ve been watching liziqi since 2018, and it made me so happy when I heard she finally won the rights to her trademark. From owning only 49% to 99%, I hope she can continue posting what she loves.

My mother found her video randomly like one month ago and loved it, my grandma also loved her videos and they started watching these type of calm videos. That's how i saw her. We just watched her one or two videos but i didn't know about the backstory. I was amazed by the hard work and time she puts into each and every videos and i loved her. i watched her on youtube in 2020, and she's been my source of comfort since. i always watch her videos. it has this calming effect and it really helped with my mental health then..but then she stopped posting. its infuriating to know this was happening behind the scenes!

In South East Asia, (especially Bangladesh, India and Pakistan) each country has their own style of Biryani. They are all essentially rice dishes (sometimes with meat) but every country uses a different process and different spices. Most people in all of these countries khave had this dish and/or know how to make it.
I cannot imagine fighting over a fermented cabbage dish when you guys come from similar climates with a lot of common food available to all the countries. I don't know why thats bizarre to me.

I am utterly flabbergasted by the ill treatment this lovely woman endured, like, WTF?! She just got the abuse of everyone's self projections. I was so shocked seeing Liziqi's photo on your cover, and more shocked when I found out the reason why she stopped doing UA-cam vids. Omg. When I met my Chinese partner in 2017 I found her videos soon after while studying Chinese culture, cooking and language to better know him and I seriously adore her videos and am glad to hear someone discussing what happened. I had an intuition seeing the thumbnail and yeah.. I used to watch her videos when i was 12, I am still subscribed from that time. I had no idea this happened. It always felt like her videos were so special, out of this world. They represent cottagecore to me, and that vibe is helped me so so many time to get through life
I loved her videos, I would binge them at all times, she was so empowering to watch and so peaceful and relaxing, but also got me feeling crafty, I loved watching her.
It was such a blessing discovering Liziqi during the pandemic. I miss her 😭 This is so heartbreaking. She worked so hard, learned everything... this is frustrating and so unfair.

I watched Liziqi and Dianxi religiously at some point in my life, I fell asleep with their video in the background. I found out about Liziqi because of some comments on Dianxi channel and I checked her out immediately. Her aesthetic and dedication is definitely out of this world, what happened to her is unfair and that guy is evil!! Hope she recovered and got all the support she needs❤️

I love her! Her videos actually calms me down. If you have some type of anxiety or you’re going through a lot, her videos are something that calms you down.
