As the managing director of Bosch I must apologise we do as part of our training tell our security staff to make things up and to act like scared ten years olds. We also tell them to waste as much police time as possible and lie to make the response time quicker. We do insist all our security guards are thick as mince and I think we will introduce an entrance test in the future. We are sorry for how Steve and his dad acted they do not represent the values of Bosch.

We have three or four grown men here, probably managers of this company and they have no grasp of basic law in the UK. "Show me the law that says you can fly your drone" No, in the UK you can do anything unless there is a law saying you can not And we wonder why the country is in such a state with people like this in the positions they hold. This is what happens when you have full employment, idiots promoted far above their pay grade.
It's European law which generally requires express permission for something to be lawful. It's called Napoleonic law. UK law is based on common law which is basically what comes down from judges deciding the results of cases over time.
Where they got this idea from, I'm not quite sure. In b-roll pictures from the past people smiled and waved at the camera, making it nearly impossible to get footage of their normal daily activities.🙂

You go along with their nonsense that "you need to get permission from the owners" for a while, and when you tell them that you don't, they refuse to listen. Then they sometimes make up criminal offences which haven't been committed 15:18 "Attempt to break in," make up non-existent offences like 15:20 "Coversion of evidence, to stop us from getting that details back," and talk absolute nonsense like 15:25 "I'm sure you don't want the Met Police on this, because that's who's responsible for Bosch" 1 - There's no such word as "coversion." 2 - That sentence is grammatically incorrect. 3 - The Met Police has no jurisdiction in Lancashire. 4 - The Police are not Bosch's employees. Or just filming in public and basic drone laws. My best advice would be that if you see someone filming your business from public just observe from a distance and only intervene if they genuinely give you cause for concern. If you feel you need to speak to them remember that they are allowed to film in public whatever they can see, and remain polite. Don't make demands or tell they what they can or cannot do. Also a drone weighing less than 250g is highly likely to be legal to fly over.

The Protec employee who threatened to lie to the police should be disciplined. Protec HR should re-check all their qualifications to be able to do their job properly, VERY embarrassing for a security company and their lack of knowledge over public photography.
They got bollocked by the managing director, and all employees who could be in this situation now have to take mandatory training to learn how to deal with it.
One thing I'll say is they told you you're on private property, the lamp post has a council designation number on it. Point that out to them and they'll not have a leg to stand on.

Also, I'm pretty sure that the Amazon car can only go onto public property as they would have to pay royalties to any company if they went onto their property. If you check the route the Amazon car went on, it only went halfway down Beale Road.

Whilst Protec don't supply security staff or train them, they do provide security solutions and equipment. That means that they have to have some understanding of the laws around security and privacy etc to ensure their equipment meets regulations.
What a load of rubbish. All they do is manufacture and install overpriced fire alarms. They are clever though as these products are what are called closed protocol to stop other companies from taking over the systems they install.

😂 they probably tell them first to close their gates. There's an easy way to tell if the police aren't coming because they close the gate. It's probably the first thing they tell them. If they close the gates - they have had the usual "auditor pep talk" that the call handlers give them. Once the gates close they are totally aware of the police advice on dealing with audits and the police aren't coming 😂 part of that advice will be "make sure no interacts with them" or similar, at that point that's when they probably shot out to call off the guys 😂

With their concern of repeated break ins with their security, fencing, cameras, and technical expertise, Protec should be the Last company anyone considers for security and business/home alarm systems. (imo) Obviously they are ashamed of their business and services if they don't want Protec House to be seen. In a 50th anniversary article the offices and production facility constructed in 1984. Bosch acquired Protec in 2021 but still note themselves as a family run business. Great drone footage and respect your attempt to educate them. 👍

For this interaction, I would have been pointing out the irony of a security company who is this paranoid about possible break-ins. Any potential customer may think twice about trusting them, considering how little faith they have in their own security.

It's a bit worrying when a guy who is a licenced security guy is willing to tell the police lies. It obviously does not give much credence to the "profession". How many time has he called the police with these lies? He didn't get away with it this time because he was on camera!

Or just filming in public and basic drone laws. My best advice would be that if you see someone filming your business from public just observe from a distance and only intervene if they genuinely give you cause for concern. If you feel you need to speak to them remember that they are allowed to film in public whatever they can see, and remain polite. Don't make demands or tell they what they can or cannot do. Also a drone weighing less than 250g is highly likely to be legal to fly over.

The Protec employee who threatened to lie to the police should be disciplined. Protec HR should re-check all their qualifications to be able to do their job properly, VERY embarrassing for a security company and their lack of knowledge over public photography.
False reports can have a big impact too. Many UA-camrs arrested because of lies to the police and usually the liers walk away with no action
They all should be given the boot for numerous infractions.
They got bollocked by the managing director, and all employees who could be in this situation now have to take mandatory training to learn how to deal with it.
One thing I'll say is they told you you're on private property, the lamp post has a council designation number on it. Point that out to them and they'll not have a leg to stand on.

Also, I'm pretty sure that the Amazon car can only go onto public property as they would have to pay royalties to any company if they went onto their property. If you check the route the Amazon car went on, it only went halfway down Beale Road.

I think it’s a Walter Mitty factory and these bell ends are constructed from unused bits and pieces.
Whilst Protec don't supply security staff or train them, they do provide security solutions and equipment. That means that they have to have some understanding of the laws around security and privacy etc to ensure their equipment meets regulations.

What a load of rubbish. All they do is manufacture and install overpriced fire alarms. They are clever though as these products are what are called closed protocol to stop other companies from taking over the systems they install.

Brilliant!!!…one of your best and the way you spoke with the absolute tyrants representing “Protec” was truly superb…both employees were an absolute disgrace to their employers, why do these idiots think they can tell members of the public how to go about their business but this ran much deeper, threatening to detain and give orders to another…horrific. I hope the CEO of “Protec” gets to see this and give out the appropriate re-training.

😂 they probably tell them first to close their gates. There's an easy way to tell if the police aren't coming because they close the gate. It's probably the first thing they tell them. If they close the gates - they have had the usual "auditor pep talk" that the call handlers give them. Once the gates close they are totally aware of the police advice on dealing with audits and the police aren't coming 😂 part of that advice will be "make sure no interacts with them" or similar, at that point that's when they probably shot out to call off the guys 😂

Even if the video was filmed illegally, which it isn't the police can't force you to delete the footage . Only a court can do that .
It's totally beautiful when an idiot runs his mouth off telling the world and his wife that he is going to make a false report to the police without realising he is providing the evidence of the false report which could land him in jail.

Protec should be the Last company anyone considers for security and business/home alarm systems. (imo)
Obviously they are ashamed of their business and services if they don't want Protec House to be seen. In a 50th anniversary article the offices and production facility constructed in 1984. Bosch acquired Protec in 2021 but still note themselves as a family run business.
