Week #5: Day - 4 Shooting

Finishing aerial balls is probably the most challenging aspect of shooting. A player has to be able to judge the flight of the baller. This process already starts by observing the passer and how he/she makes contact on the pass that is being delivered in the air. Great strikers can see how the passer makes contact on the ball and can identify if the ball will be in the air or on the floor and if it is driven or curved. Great players can position themselves accordingly and chose the right surface to finish the ball, stay calm at the same time and simultaneously finish at the highest speed.
Today we are introducing half volleys, volleys, and side volleys to you. This is the most challenging aspect of finishing, but also the most fun. Once you learn how to finish aerial balls with quality it is one of the most enjoyable activities in soccer. Have fun and make sure you pay attention to all details as they are of high importance as we always tell you.
