My time spent with my quilty friend, Anna, is a ray of sunshine in an otherwise dark world. Thanks G for editing for us. ❤️❤️
I too have been making pillowcases as gifts for the last few years. One in particular stands out - I had made a quilt for one of my granddaughters and I decided to include a pillowcase to match her new quilt. I wasn't able to be there when she opened her gift, so her Mom sent me a video via Messenger. They were both thrilled with the quilt and fabrics used; but my granddaughter was especially happy when she saw the pillowcase to go with it. She even spoke on how she was secretly hoping I'd do just that. So glad that something so simple can bring happiness to someone's life.
Thank you again Anna, for your lovely company. I hope you realise how you help to keep our spirits up. It’s a joy to spend time with you. X
In these precious videos, you always give of your heart so freely. In sadness or frustration or laughter, you make life so much more rich for everyone. Yes, I talk back to you, answering your questions and laughing at whatever. You've made me think so much more about what constitutes community, and my life is richer for having your thoughts and creativity and love for all. I send love back to you and G.
These pillowcases are a good way to make them. My hubby died last year and for a keepsake for the 7 grandkids I made them from his shirts he wore as chaplain for our fire department. Just got flannel to go with shirts.
Hi, Anna! What a fun project! Pillowcases!! Soooo happy you made the tutorial. Our quilt guild's current VP showed us how to do this back when my nieces were still dating their hubbies, and thought I'd make pillowcases for their kids. Well, I have 2 grand nephews. They will be 3 in December and January. I still don't have my sewing mojo back, but your tutorial gave me the measurements that I'll need. So, now, I'll keep an eye out for pillow fabrics...and make them for the 2 boys, the parents, the grandparents, AND the great grandmother (my mom). Hmm...might need to kick start my sewing mojo. Mom's 83.
Pillowcases are such a great addition to each holiday. So fun to make!!! Good to see you!!!
Thank you I love making these! My daughter
is 43 and loves any one I make! Lol I’m making them for my great grandkids too. I love your tutorials and you are such a sweet person
I love making pillow cases. I have 12 Great Grands. And they get them always at Halloween and Christmas. And maybe at Valentines Day or B-Day or whenever the spirit moves me. Small things bring big smiles.
I listen to a lot of stitchers on you tube. But I just love you the most. You make us feel at home.
Anna, thanks once again for relaxing visit. I love to enjoy your talks while I sew. It’s like having company!! Yeah!! Can’t remember the last time real company came to the house. 2020 is definitely the year of loneliness and frustration. I love the burrito style pillow construction and recently finished twelve “assembly style sewing” for Christmas gifts for family. Each one personalized with fabrics to suit each family member. Love your idea of glow in dark fabrics; next year!! I use wonder clips instead of pins and they make the process so quick with no finger sticks. I drape each burrito over my shoulder as I sew and end up with a very long sausage roll when finished. Yes, the fun is turning them and smiling at the combination of the three fabrics....quilters joys are simple aren’t they??
Blessings on you and G.
I so enjoy your videos. I feel like you are talking directly to me. You have motivated me to sew more. Thank you and take care.
Hi Anna, Good to see you again. I hope you do a stitch along with the "HOME" project. I have the wall kit and almost all the monthly holiday discs. I haven't started it because I have too many projects to finish first - lol. I will start it as a SAL with you. Yea!!! Take Care. 🍂🍁🎃
My grands love getting new pillow cases no matter the age. My older grands are 22 and 18 and still like getting them. They get them for all occasions.
Good morning, Anna! I must tell you about what has become a morning ritual. After pouring my coffee, I head down to my sewing room and bring up my computer. I check on whether or not the are new videos from you on Stitch Roadies and/or Quilt Roadies. It seems you have become an indispensable part of my day--its like I'm addicted to watching what you call "jibber jabber" --you are like having a visitor to my day! Thank you for keeping me company and giving me company while I stitch!
Dear Anna, I could listen to your jibber jabber all day. Thank you for another visit. Your thoughts are like mine during this pandemic but I am dealing with chemo. Staying as busy as I can to ward off dark moods. Now I will add another project to my schedule...pillowcases!!! They will make great gifts😊 Stay safe...hugs to all your viewers as well. ❤️
I love visiting with you...you always lift my spirits...👍🏻👵🏻💕
Anna... your jibber jabber is my favorite part about your videos. I love how natural you are and just talk to us like we are actually at the stitching table with you.
But I do have a bone to pick you!!!! The Sue Spargo stuff was not even on my radar until you mentioned the block series she is doing right now! Haha. Ugh!!! Just what I needed more projects. I haven’t bitten the bullet “yet”. But they are so lovely and getting really hard to resist.
L❤️VE your Quilt Roadies and Stitch Roadies videos.
Anna is a great enabler, no? :)
@@reesekolcow6136 one of the best!
Hugs!! Stupid vertigo! My hubby's trigger is sodium. He has been on an extremely low sodium diet for while and it has helped. I laughed about the halloween stash as I'm the same way. I buy halloween fabric just to have it. Mine Mine Mine. I find I am the same way with my cross stitch patterns now as well. I'm drawn to halloween. I have more halloween than ANY other pattern. Oh well. I love it and that's all that matters, right? I'm excited to catch some of the Live Halloween events coming up. Can you believe it but I took a VACATION day tomorrow to watch the Halloween party with Niecie Lynn, Colleen & Cheryl, and Teresa Kogut tomorrow. Well since I'm not getting to go anywhere, I'm using my days for FUN. I'm also hoping to join Becca on her event. Hugs again from NE Ohio as you are loved and thought of often due to the joy you have brought into my life. ❤️
Enjoyed your visit this morning. Thanks for the book recommendations! Always appreciated! Cute pillowcases. I have the pattern for the Buttermilk Basin sew along. I might just join you! I will probably do four of the attached circle designs to change out for the seasons and the pillow idea sounds like a great idea! Better get them ordered and I plan on using my wool stash...yes I have one of those, too! Take care. Lynn in Indiana
God love you ,Anna. We are so blessed to have you in our lives. 😷😍Stay safe, birthday buddy.
Beautiful Pillowcases! Such Fun & Unique Gifts Made By You ~ No Matter The Season ~ All Given In Love! Thank You For Making ~ Awesome Tutorial Videos That Speak: “Love One Another” In All That We Do & “Sew” The Rewards From God! ❤️👏🏻🥰👍✌️
Thank you for your tutorial :). I have an older relative who was struggling to squeeze her extra plump pillows into standard pillow cases. In addition to the plump pillows, she also suffered with severe familial tremors which only make the task more difficult. So I made her pillow cases (simple, just one fabric) but I not only made them about an inch wider than standard, I put the French seam on the *outside*. It made it so much easier for her to grab the pillow case while she was putting in the pillow. She said that it truly made it easier :). Sometimes it takes a simple little change.
I enjoyed seeing all of your goodies.
I sincerely hope that you are able to gain better control of your vertigo. Take care of yourself!
You are a genius (and a very kind person) for thinking of those changes in the pillowcases for your relative.
@@nancylyman5192 Awww - Thank you, that is so sweet. Just wanted to share the idea in case it would be helpful to someone else :).
So needed this video today. I'm in Texas, got my new grandbaby girl and sooo missing my own home and sewing. Babies are sweet 2 and a half year old is sweet but my Home in Mich8gan in 2 days just might be sweeter. Stay safe, keep warm. Thank you for bringing some calm into my life today.
Oh Anna I know your pain with regards to Vertigo. I am just now turning 61 on Sunday and have been dealing with it since around 40 years old. Have gone to many Dr., emergency room, ear specialist and testing. Mine is very SEASONAL. Usually when the weather in KS has big swings in air pressure. I have also been told it hits people when their Immune System is not at its best. I have had it last as short as one week and as long as 6 months. I have recently been adjusted by a specialist and it DID NOT take it away. I am one of those humans that falls into that 5% category for either getting things that 95% won't. Here is what I have found works for me recently.
Home Treatment of BBPV - the Brandt-Daroff Exercises'. Really easy to do and has been affective for me in 2020. I'll say a little prayer for you to have this episode go by quickly. Love all your quilting, WOOLING (my favorite) and cross stitching. Cograts on your new Grandson. Enjoy.......
Thank you for this amazing video. You put some sunshine in my day. Take care
I love making pillowcases. I never have a boring bed now! The glow in the dark fabric is the best. Hanging out with you before bedtime clears my mind. See you in the next video.
Halloween Pillowcases!!!! A great idea! Love your videos...happy stitching!
"Live Laugh and Love" one of my favorite sayings - whether in English or Italian!
Very quick and easy.
Thank you Anna. This has been a depressing year. Your video brightens my day ❤️
Anna, came back for another visit on your pillow cases tutorial. I'm going 3 tomorrow for my younger grandkids. I'll definitely make Halloween ones next year. Anna your right about the comments, a beautiful community has evolved around the Beehive. Regards Marion
Love Welcome Home. I have base done and 5 circles done. Working on the rest 🥰. Love this project
Great visit you have such great taste in fabrics. Such kindness.
I love that you are doing the stitch along. Please do each piece step by step and show each step from the beginning. I have all the pieces of this project, but am scared to start because I do not know what I am doing. I have never worked with wool, nor have I done appliqué . I can’t wait! Thank you.
As always a lovely video...we make pillowcases for social services in our county..when children have to be removed from a dangerous home situation, its better for them to have a pillowcase of their own to put their belongings in instead of a plastic bag...fun tutorial and so fun to see all the haul too...happy stitching and enjoy the snow ❄️ from afar...Cheers!
So happy to see your post this morning. I love spending time with you. The sound effect of the wind through your window was perfect for Halloween. Sorry to hear your vertigo has flared up again. Giving up salt and sugar is more a punishment than a cure. I had to go to the Respiratory Clinic at Kaiser yesterday for a cough I developed from wildfire smoke. The clinic was quite an experience because of Covid. Staff was gowned up in PPE like something from a sci-fi movie. Yes, they tested me for Covid. Dx is either bacterial bronchitis or asthma. So antibiotics and an inhaler. Thank goodness for modern medicine and all our heroic medical staff.
Absolutely Love Buttermilk Basin
Loved this visit! My favorite thing about living in Montana was listening to the wind. It made me feel so cozy and safe in my house and would just mello me out. I could hear the wind all through your video and it made me so homesick but at peace. I am looking forward to moving back to MT some day. I know I have told you how much I enjoy your videos but wanted to let you know how much peace you bring to my day. Love ya!
I’m sorry for your Vertigo. Yuk! I have 2 xmas pillowcases to do this weekend. Teaching granddaughter to make banana bread after school tomorrow. I love that “Home” idea of starting now to keep a month ahead. I could use a lap type project to take to all my appointments. Trying to get ready for winter, my relatives back in WY and MN already have ❄️ snow!
Oh my goodness! I bought the Welcome Home kits last year during their end of year sale and I've been looking at them ever since trying to find the courage to start. I'm so excited for a sew-along for some motivation!
Hi Anna! Great sewing with you. I’m making a Christmas wall hanging while visiting with you. A pleasure as always. Great haul😊
I ADORE your vintage fabric......💕👵🏻
It’s such a joy to spend time with you. Bless you for making me happy 😃❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for today. I needed a friendly face to smile with. I love to gift pillowcases, also. I almost always make one to go with each quilt I gift. In fact, I gift the quilt tucked inside the case. I haven't made any with flannel yet, so I'll have to try that. Thanks!
I hope you feel better soon. I love the 🏠 project. I kept wondering why you loved it, until you showed the O centers! That big empty O was so puzzling🤣
So good to see you back in the Bee Hive! I love to make pillowcases. Recipients are always fascinated with them. I pray that you will get relief from vertigo soon. Looking forward to our next visit!
That wind was really blowin! Hope you all have a very Happy Halloween and I know the kids will enjoy the awesome pillow cases you made for them.
My grandkids love getting new pillowcases. Before covid we would go to the quilt shop and they would pick out their own fabrics. Hopefully next year we will be able to do that again. Great visit Anna.
My favourite pillowcase pattern. I love having you drop in for a chat and some stitching. I look forward to seeing you.
You make my day better each time I watch you. I can't wait to get to meet you some day. Prayers for you 🙏
Such fun. I grabbed some Batman fabric and made one for my husband sewing along with you.
So excited to join in the “wool-along”. I’ve already ordered the main piece and January’s block! Now I have to go wool shopping!
So glad to watch & listen to you again. Love all your fabrics for necked etc. I too have a shopping habit, I try to keep it in check, but this time of year I seem to fall off the wagon. I have made these pillow cases in the past, they are such nice gifts & the grandkids love them. My daughter had a bad time with virtigo & had to do physical theropy, of course that’s not an easy option now
I wanted to congratulate you on the new baby. Your pillow cases look like I could make some. I went to the Jean Farris videos you suggested and I was blown away. I told her you suggested watching her, and she said you are so adorable. I think so too. Thanks for being you .
Loved seeing how you made the pillow case's. Going to try and make some.
Oh Anna I love making these pillow cases!!! About 10 years ago one of my friends grandson was in Afghanistan and we made nearly 200 cases twice for the soldiers or Christmas!!! Then about 5 years ago I did 130 for a mission after a hurricane. They are so fun to make and everyone loves them!
Beverly Lusk Congrats Beverly. That's a ton of work but I'm so sure it was definitely worth the while! You've given me an idea. I make quilts to donate and I just decided to make matching pillowcases for the quilts!! That way, the people receiving the quilts will have a "matched set". Thanks for kicking my brain into gear. Have a great evening, and hugs from Canada!
Blessings on you.
@@cheryl8280 oh Cheryl that is awesome, the travel size pillows and cases make the best gifts for kids and adults.....great for naps and traveling. My daughters and grandkids carry theirs everywhere....even my son in law wanted his own! 😂. Keep stitching!!
Beverly from East Texas!
Thank you I needed to refresh on this for Christmas to go with my Quilts love you!
I enjoy a visit with you again. I like your purchases and your quilty kindness. I have never made a pillow case but will have to do that but don't have any small children in my family right now. Stay safe.
I enjoy listening to you. I feel like you’re talking to me as a friend. I understand you’re feelings of sadness. Thank you.
Good work, Anna. Now get on those other three and you'll be finished in time for G to serve you supper!! LOLOL I really do love this pattern/tutorial for the pillowcases. Unfortunately I don't really have anyone to make them for. But I have plenty of quilts coming up for donation so that makes me feel better. I hope the people receiving them will feel as good. Love your hexis! Can't wait to see the finished product. I'm off so have a great evening accomplishing your many "tasks". Hugs from Canada!!
Always happy to see a new video from you. I love the pillowcases. I have made several. Many of them travel size. My grandkids still take them in the car. Holiday pillowcases are a great idea. Maybe I will surprise them this year!
Your Love fabric also spells LEO ! " Love Leo ! " how cute. Hope you are feeling better now. I am working on a quilt using Sakura Park fabric, the material feels so nice. I am dreaming about a visit to Japan one day to see the beautiful cherry blossom trees in the spring sunshine. It would be such a wonderful experience. love Julia from the UK.
Blessings to you! I love spending time with you. I learn so much. I must watch again and get the dimensions for the pillowcases. Have a great week.
A perfect first thing in the mornin...!...thankyou Anna....watch the motivational doc on you tube..he helped with my vertigo...loved your home project...I miss working with wool...that may be the beginning..woohooooo!..great tut on the hallo pillowcases...loved the fabrics...have a happy day!..🙋🏼♀️🌻🐝
Thanks Anna, feel better soon💗
So glad the fabric arrived. I thought it would make great hexies. Your video came at a perfect time. I am organizing drawers because I can't find where I stashed my daughters birthday gift. Thanks for lifting my spirits. Still hunting for her gift. Lol.
Thanks for the visit! I’ve had vertigo a few times over the last dozen years. It’s not fun. I never know why it comes and goes., But I haven’t had it for a few years now so that’s a blessing. I enjoy seeing what you’ve bought and received. You do have a lot of projects! 🙂 We just have to live long lives to make a good dent in our stashes. Take good care of yourself. 🤗🤗 from Texas
Another fantastic visit with you Anna. Let me tell you, you are going to love that Boho Heart project. I did Jen's Gypsy wife quilt and it's a load of fun to do something so different, and I've been tempted by Boho Heart myself..
As always so good to visit with you. That's how it feels when i hear that i have a new video from you. 😊 liked seeing your haul and your quilty goodness from others. Stay well. God bless you and your family.
Thank you for the tutorial, I should get busy and make a few pillowcases also, have a lovely weekend 😍
Thanks Anna as like you, not 100% just now but you really made me laugh. Being able to be interactive with you like this - and Ariane 'live' on Friday as she stitched (Awesome as you ladies say) has opened up a whole new stitching relationship I never expected to know. I now feel there is so much to look forward to despite our world situation and Covid rules and dark winter months. I just hope the funds will stretch to filling up the stash gaps! Just received two packs of Sue Spargo's wool in reds and blues so I'm spent up for 2020 but so looking forward to new projects and more embroidery in 2021 once I've finished a few in time for Christmas - puds are steamed and cake will be baked next week. Thanks again.
Hello to FRANCE, i love it ! thank you Anna
I love Buttermilk Basin!! I am ordering my home kit - i want
Something to look forward to for January! - thanks my friend
You are always a joy . I made the Ghosts with the stars cuff glow in the dark pillowcases in orange and black
Such fun and so inspiring! Love all the adorable hexie fabrics. I always enjoy it when you recommend good books to read, so thank you!!! Hope your vertigo goes away soon. Maybe one of those long handled picker uppers would come in handy instead of bending over to pick up things. I use one all the time. Thank you again, Anna, for another great video.
Ok Ana, when you showed this the first time I bought the panel. I’ve made a darling pop-up thread bin (The Fat Quarter Gypsy). It was a first pick at my local guild meeting. Next will be a project bag, and then I’ll use the rest for quilt pieces (and backs). So cute! Thanks for sharing it. 🥰
Had a dangerous day at work, surfing the web and got stuck into ordering on line. Shopped at fat quarter, Fire Poppies and the last was ordering a POTOKY STITCH FRAME. Told my Husband I had a GREAT DAY!!!!Today after work I have 2 quilts to pick up that was quilted by my long arm quilter Ms Barbara Alama, she is the greatest. I too go through VERITGO more often now, Aloha from Hawaii, hope to visit my baby soon in Dallas Oregon, plan to visit Acorn and Thread, Aloha
I really loved watching you make these! I am a knitter, turned quilter, turned crossstitcher and have been following you for a long time. I think I will go through my fabric bin to see what fun cases I can make, just for the heck of it! You haven't turned me into a hexie person yet ... But I'm thinking about it 😂😂. Hope you feel better quickly! Jan
You are an inspiration. I need to make some pillow cases.
So sorry to hear your vertigo is back! My husband has Ménière’s disease and his has been acting up recently also! He has been eating a lot of Halloween candy lately! 🤣🤣 Hope you feel better soon!
In order of the video -- first thing I noticed was how pretty your hexies are in the background! Then I paused the video to go purchase your recommended books -- I had just finished one, so I was looking for some good ones to read. Next, I loved to see all your new fabric! And then, it was fun watching you make the pillowcase. I have made a couple of these with my grandchildren, letting them sew with me the parts that they were old enough to help with, and then helping them pull out the pillowcase from the tube -- so fun! I hope you feel better quickly!
Thank you Anna, for the tutorial! You have inspired me to make a couple for my neighbours boys.🤗 And I loved your Lost In Space reference, one of my favourite sayings!😂 Be well.
And the camping fabric even has G’s guitar! 👍🏻👵🏻
Vertigo is kind of scary too. I have it so understand. Glad you can talk about it - hope it helps.
Thanks, as always Anna< for a great visit. I like the rolled cuff short cut. I hadn't thought of that before. Have a really good day...hugs.
So sorry to hear you’re not feeling well. Please take care. I did make the “HOME” banner and subsequent monthly wool appliqué circles. I used something called Star Singles 1 inch half sq triangle papers for the border. I found those so helpful! I bought them at Shabbyfabrics.com but could probably find them elsewhere. Thank you for the Halloween pillowcase “tutorial “. It’s a definite for my to do list(I’d better get going, huh?!). Well, on to now watch Stitch Roadies! I’m certain to want to shop after that!!
For vertigo I used Dramamine when it would hit and then wait for it to pass. I also was told to lay on my bed stretched out into the form of a cross then gently turn my head from side to side. That recalibrated the filaments or whatever they're called in the ear. I thought that was crazy advice but it worked for me. Vertigo has been gone for several years now. You.may already know about this. I'm new to your chan
As always great chatting...hope you feel better.
I just bought my pattern and January and February circles, looking forward to the stitch along.
I like to use a French seam on my pillowcases too. I love the way your hexies are looking on your design board, so cheerful. Hope you feel better soon and get rid of that awful vertigo.
We miss you too in Tucson. We had to postpone our Quilt Fiesta. So plan to come back in 2022 for a big return we hope.
Great tutorial. I haven’t made a pillow case in a few years, but once you get an assembly line going, they’re fast! I hate vertigo. I don’t get it very often, but boy does it mess with your life. I hope yours is better now. 😀
It is so good to be back with you in the beehive! Everyday is a blessing regardless of what we go through.
Vote Godly.❤️❤️❤️
I have been wanting to do pillow cases. Thank you so much. You are the best!
Thanks for the visit..sure needed that today..rainy foggy day here in the mitten state. Been working on Christmas gifts..and I keep thinking oh I love that I wanna make that for Christmas..my sewing room is over flowing and now filling the spare room..hope no one wants to use it between now and Christmas. 🤦♀️ sure hope your vertigo clears up soon..it's miserable for sure. Hugs Anna
😁😁😁been waiting to hear from you.sending u blessings.
Thanks Anna, I enjoyed my time with you this afternoon! I've never seen that pillow case demonstrated before and thanks to you, I'm going to make some for my grandkids. They're going to love them! See ya next time 👋
Hi! I just stumbled across your channel. I have my first grandchild making her debut in July. I've got the fabric for her quilt (Home Sweet Home collection by Moda) and I ordered extra to make a regular pillow case, as well as one for a travel pillow.
I love the idea of a case for every holiday. My daughter has no idea how many gifts I'm sending her way for Kutti. (Kutti is a nickname and it means small in Hindi. Her father is of Indian descent.)
Another great enabling video lol 🇦🇺😷👍🌍
Thank you Anna for sharing your talents with us all... i too have made pillow cases.. but you make me want to make seasonal ones now LOL
