Great video. I had no idea that flowers wilted in the caves. This is the kind of ecosystem logic that got me hooked on the game in the first place. In my good world, I farmed mole worms on docks.
Jakeyosaurus and TheBread are great... But for some reason I just love this channel infinitely more! ♥️ Keep up the amazing work, we love it!!! Ps. That's an amazing thumbnail 🤭👌
One cool thing I like to do after enabling lunar rifts is create a farm plot with dragon fruits close to 4 trapped vargs and when you visit that area you get brightshade + hound farm If it's winter/spring you'll get more hound loot, and if it's summer/autumn you'll get brightshade loot faster due to fire damage It's pretty cool overall. Before getting to rifts though, I like to farm hounds by surrounding bait meat with statues and using lvl 3 shadow rook to kill them. You can use beefalo to dodge rook while killing hounds in the process, or if you have bone armor you can just stand there and get hounds killed. Additionally you can wear bee queen crown for easy sanity farm. Some notes to take if you choose to use bone armor: -In winter/spring make sure to use star caller staff so that you don't get permafrozen by ice hounds and in summer/autumn place ice flingomatic nearby so that fire gets put out as soon as possible. -Make sure you got nightmare fuel on you to refuel bone armor every now and then. -Whenever you're low on nightmare fuel or want to stop farming hounds for whatever reason, your best bet is to kill rook before your bone armor loses all charges. Alternatively, you can wait for his attack then as soon as he teleports on hounds again, run as far away from him as possible before he starts following you and if he does, pause the game and quit out then go back in. As soon as you rejoin your world he will be searching for player to aggro so run away from him as far as possible and he shouldn't aggro. If he does, repeat the pause and quit thing until it eventually works.
2:19 wait thank you so much, this is gonna be so useful for passively getting jet feathers for my upcoming huge storage area without having to use a wicker farm
3:15 I mean silviculture method doesn't work at all in winter, while in summer it's a tiny bit annoying to unwither your grass tufts and saplings, idk it's something
I knew worms could eat grass cause one time my friend died to a depth worm and I resurrected her but her grass was all gone and we were confused... Later I went to kill off the worms so that they wouldn't bother us later and as I was picking up the drops I realized that I suddenly had a bit more grass... A lot more than before...
learned about the cave worms thing on a long term world with my friend rocks had fallen and blocked off a grassy cave entrance area we never used it, so we never cared until i searched the area i forget why cave worms were there, but they had been trapped for possible years i kill them all and come away with more grass than i can manage never got around to making that farm, though
info about worms is so weird and feels kinda random, for no reason. anyway, here is my farm involving wickerbottom and docks. idea is to find the water separating the land and narrow it even further, place a bunch of trawler kits in it and use fisherman book. fish that spawn will get caught in trawler very quickly and reliably.
Even better: just dont care flowers at all, if the chunk is not loadet the beebox will get 1 hony per day no matter the flower amount nearby. Just bild a lot of them and harvest them once in a while.
I didn't know the pollination drop bee mechanic. Is there any way to know how many flowers have a bee in the base game? Can it be used to stack a lot of flowers in a small space? I've been trying to find a way to kinda explot the bee queen crown but I struggle to do something not so rebuscated
the only real way to know without mods is to just watch the bees as they pollinate. sadly They can plant flowers closer than normal but i don't think they can stack. ive tried it alot before this video but couldn't do it successfully. If you are looking for a beequeen crown exploit you should check out my infinate sanity video with the birds.
@@DVGMedia1 Yeah I checked it out but like you need to activate moonstorms and being honest I believe that for farming sanity as wickerbottom (my main interest) is best just to use the book on cactus or making sanity recipes, or even stars. For now I think is best just to spam a huge amount of bees and pick the flowers for sanity.
Hi, I have a question, it's off topic of the video however I think you can probably help me in answering it. I've recently started modding for dst and I need some dst code to look through for something. In one of your videos, I don't remember which one, I saw that you were looking at weather settings or something through Notepad++. I didn't find anything in the DST and DS Mod Tools files. If you have the location of the files and more precisely the game code for a clean view, please answer. And if you need to download it, please send me a link.
I did talk about it on my qna but I can share Here. The file path is steam/common/don't starve together/databundles Each of those zipped files contain all the code for the game
I didn't know worms can do that. Also i wonder , can birds eat the seeds from a catcoon farm when you unload it? Because whenever i leave the base , when i get back to it the seeds are gone
People just like the older ui instead. There are pros and cons to each version. Some just like what the old one offers I personally like the sleekness and single click crafting of the old one The new one feels too bulky and removes all forms of memory of where things go as well as removes the design of the original tabs
@@DVGMedia1 yes, but actually no. I wasnt actually considering it the definition of vore, but rather a different one, being that if any creature swallows any other creature else whole, its vore.
I remember coming back to the cave entrance after going to the ruins, killing a worm, and then being confused as to why it dropped a stack of grass.
I had no idea cave worms could do that nor that they could be so useful
The grass from giant trees was crucial to getting grass when i played on a nothing world

Wait why docks?
Okay I cannot wait to try out that farm with the cave worm things, that's really cool and I had no idea they'd do that

The depths worms one is pretty cool.
Could you talk about farming weeds?
DVG uploads.
Day officially made.

Yeah the catcoon farm is one I recommend on lots of worlds
I will 100% use these, a lot of new info i never knew about. Ive never done a cave base but that depth worm makes me wanna try one.
Great vid

my dumb farm is a line of 20 starfish trap near a tall bird fortress
then i lure tall bird one by one in the trap
thanks for the heart
another lot of information I didn't know about, these farm ideas are very cool, thank you
Glad you enjoyed!
Oh, the video was only 4 minutes? I was having fun tho, and learned a lot, good stuff, thank you ♥
Cute OC too
Thank you!
I like to try and keep videos precise.
I have never seen a dead flower in the cave!
These are all such interesting mechanics (: thank ya
This is brilliant
learned about the cave worms thing on a long term world with my friend
rocks had fallen and blocked off a grassy cave entrance area
we never used it, so we never cared
until i searched the area
i forget why cave worms were there, but they had been trapped for possible years
i kill them all and come away with more grass than i can manage
never got around to making that farm, though
cute thumbnail as always
How do you place the catcoon? By befriending it? Or do you somehow move their tree stump thing?
You befriend it and it will follow you I have a short talking about it ua-cam.com/users/shorts4O1_B3UgMPg?feature=share

Catcoon + seeds? Never though of that, especially since it sounds both simple and useful as heck
I still can't tell if worms eating grass is intentional or not. It's just so weird
How would i know how many flowers a given bee has polinated?
the only real way to know is by watching the bee and counting how many flowers they visit.
oh no DVG don’t get eaten in the thumbnail watch out!
hmmmm that thumbnail is very interesting

can the catcoon farms stack? if I put some flowers and some seeds, will both spawn?
They will but the cat may get too distracted
Wow really cool tips

just curious, why do people use hybrid crafting menu? the new ui is so much better
