Lgbtq is not widely accepted, it's much of tolerance that people do. But if start speaking of gay marriage etc.
Expect many would curse them,' they'd go to hell', Imoral etc.

I wish BBC could do some nature related topic on Travel about the Philippines. There is more about the Philippines than poverty, gays and local politics.
These 3 topics are so old and boring.

they do it on purpose. they want brits to travel to pass over the PH and visit their former colonies and allies instead: malaysia, singapore, thailand and bali. brits who travel here do it from word of mouth.
not once have i seen a BBC show report from Bonifacio global city=BGC, which is the ultramodern tourist, expat, business and lifestyle center of metro manila. they just report from Tondo, which is the hood. its like doing a travel show on London but skipping over central london and instead going to the worst council estates and run down areas and saying that it equals London and the entire UK. its not fair to the image of the country.
also, i'm gay but i'm not the old style 'bakla' type. in fact most millennial and genz gay filipino men are intistinguishable from straight filipino men. these traditional 'bakla' crossdressers are dying out as the world learns that one's sexuality doesn't equal how one clothes themselves, how you talk, or what your personality is.

A simple google search would show you a plethora of content about Philippine Forests, beaches and wildlife from BBC.
Meanwhile, a single coverage of a group of Gay retirees with no other family to depend on and trying to make a living independently in their retirement years triggers your homophobic ass.

What are you ranting about? Are you trying so hard looking for validation for BBC? I am sure the ' travel ' coverage you've been dying to have, has been covered long time ago and to be honest, it's also old and boring

The NEW Philippines is waaaay better more vibrant economically than what the WESTERN MEDIA portrays it. Yes, there is poverty but everyone is hopeful. Filipino breakfast is definitely not fish and okra, that was HER choice out of complete lack of research. We have high regard for our elders and we choose to live with them and take care of them. Also, if you studied hard and worked hard when you still can, you will definitely receive a pension. As a travel show, and BBC at that, this is a very mediocre output.

Who says Filipino breakfast isnt fish and okra? Tuyo, daing na Bangus/Bisugo, galunggong. These are staple breakfast items by common Filipinos. She did her research well but you seem to deny these aspects of Filipino culture. Why? Is it because they are synonymous with poverty that you folks willingly ignore? The fact that it was served in a local street karinderya tells you that IT IS staple.
I personally love these dishes and i cook them myself at home.
And yes, by law seniors could get pension from SSS if they have contributed when they were working. But mind you, for the past decades most Filipinos have informal employment without means to contribute. So a huge percentage of seniors DO NOT recieve pensions. Some do recieve pensions but a huge percentage recieve less than 100 usd monthly, like my father. What would anyone do with that amount of money?

You're probably in denial of the reality of poverty and extreme poverty in the Philippines. The government and the people like you should learn to look at the lives of these suffering Filipinos instead of just flaunting a wealthy small portion of the country that do not have any concern about the majority who lives in poverty.
