The auto-tune was to pay homage to Cher's version. They did it perfectly.
A lot of folks don't get.
You can't do Believe without the autotune because Cher purposly put autotune in it when she recorded it ❕❗I don't think many people knew much about the stylistic choice of using autotune back in the 90's so when T-Pain did it years later others saw it as covering up the fact that you can't sing because they didn't learn the stylistic choice of using autotune from the previous generation ❕❗ hopefully this comment makes sense ❕❗ lol 😅
Nothing to forgive with the autotune, they used it purposely because that song was what first used it as an effect instead of for pitch correction. It's not Believe without it :D. Not like anyone in PTX needs it for pitch.
True, it’d be like singing the wrong lyrics to not have auto tune on believe.
How can anybody not dance, and sing along with this video? Its impossible.

I am having so much fun watching all you "90s kids" reacting to this video. Believe it or not, us old guys remember them the same as you do and loved all of them. PTX really put this together for all of us to enjoy.

Cher was the first singer to use autotune on her songs. The first the we hear it, we really intrigued and loved the effects
There is a video someone made of this called pentatonix side by side! It is a video of them side by side with the original artists! Definitely worth checking out because it is almost note for note identical!
I've watched it and that's exactly true! They're that good!
It's from a channel called the musician, he does a lot of 'side by side' and the video of this medley is awesome. Check out PTX /Cranberries Dreams and Billie Aylish When the party's over. Just shows without a shadow of a doubt (like you'd have any doubt with PTX!!)
Cher's video with auto-tune was the first video ever to use auto-tune as well

I see you learned a lesson that those of us who have been in the TV industry for many years have known for a very long time. Never NEVER put green coloring in your hair if you're gonna be sitting in front of a green screen!! There were 17 songs in this medley. This release came out of nowhere and nobody saw it coming. I'm starting to think that this may be the preview medley for an upcoming 90s dance music covers album that features all 17 of these songs...

We often get to "hear" reactors try to sing along with PTX. However, with this one we've got to watch all the reactors dance. I'd much rather see them (all of them) dance as opposed to sing. LOL

They wanted to dress in a way that would represent the era they are singing about. So, they are singing the 90's and dressed like in the 90's. Yup, auto-tune to pay homage to Cher. In my opinion it was a nice touch.
