Hats off to the drummer and bassist for locking in together & keeping incredible time.
Nutty quote is insane
Joel: You totally killed on this....as usual!
Totally amazing solo, love the 'Here Comes The Bride' quote at the end, thanks for sharing.
Founding father of a new genre... Speed Bop!!!!!
Man Joel Frahm got those tubby Hayes chops
Brilliant! Great quotes from bird johnny griffin great tongueing.
Whole thing is nuts but the phrase on the first 8 bars is my fav
wow... i had to triple check i wasn't on double speed...
Jamm!
How about the Miles band quote (which the pianist catches) at 0:34-0:38!
What song is that from?
@@cliftonsadlerDr Jekyll - Milestones album
🎶☺️🌹🥀
He was playing for a wedding?
start listening to romanian saxophone players, they play at tempos like this while double tonguing, and the majority of their income comes from weddings. 😂
Really cockin' all stuff
0:34
Anyone know what changes this is??
rhythm changes
@@jorkles4691 but what key
Bb
Are you serious?
Impressive technique, but is it music? It seems to me he’s playing this way because he can.
Here we go again. You must be right- it doesn’t qualify as music. No melodic content, rhythmic interest, no spirit, no blues feeling, no swing. Check, check, check. Now that we have it figured out, we can move on!
@@saxnova Joel, ignore these guys. For every ignorant UA-cam commenter, there are 100 more who say nothing and love your playing!
And can't he....wish I could...fantastic
This is so clean I could eat off of it without a plate. My lord!
That sax player can lift a hell of a lot of musical weights!
Taken an an unbelievably fast clip. Frahm is an absolute monster! Amazing!!!!
Welp, new transcription
If anyone transcribes this, you should include yelling “Stop Time!”
One of my fav Sax players
sweet jesus
Bernie you were too hip for this nation. We didn't deserve you.
wow sounds like Johnny Griffin (on speedballs) from that Rhythming solo, that Monk 5 spot recording I remember salivating over back in the day...sound concept too...
Johny Griffin is so underrated, you can see Joel listened to him a lot.
Johnny Griffin has become my recent idol for his Blowin' Session work
Yes, that's one of my favourite albums
Yeah there’s a masterclass where he explains this I think. Johnny was so underrated imo. Unbelievable technique. The Little Giant!
Always listening ... Needs the Flinstones at that tempo
Really great playing Joel. Reminds me quite a bit of a young bob berg on ‘steppin’. The sound and cleanliness. Much smoother and cleaner than griffin (fastest tenor in the west :)
That's some serious concentration, Joel!
HERE COMES THE BRIDE
I imagine the bride running crazily, bumping with everything. Everyone in the public spinning.
ua-cam.com/video/CHbCaIrRPP4/v-deo.html Quoting a Dexter quote?
@@_chairman.lmao. Dexter played Wedding March on a recording of Oleo. I think it's from the record "Espace Cardin 1977"
My brain almost broke at 01:14 from syncopated triplets.
He does that often. Check out his track Omers World. He uses it in there.
wonderful playing and sound!
damn joel!! you're a beast
Brilliant ... brilliant ... brilliant ...
makes me wanna practice
Wow! World class! 🇺🇸👍
OMG! I good for half that tempo on a good day :) Incredible technique.
such clean technique at such a fast tempo
YEAHHHHHH!
Hell Yeah!
holy God...
Joel Frahm é um saxofonista fenomenal!
Referência internacional!
1000th like!😊

Hot stuff!! Who else is playing here?
Ok... so that happened...

Duke the Lombards Jazz Club in Paris...

Hola alguien sabe que concierto es y/o con quien esta tocando.
Saludos.
F*** that shit! Woah.
😳
WHAT
Here Comes the Bride @ 2:11.
What tune is that a quote of at 1:48 ?
Isn't Nutty a Sonny tune?
Jack Bendure no it's a monk tune
Yeah, it's a Monk tune, "Nutty"
Nutty by Thelonious Monk
STOP TIME
1:07-08 and 1:14-18 - The Brecker Lick once again!
aw fuck no lol :52
BERNIE SANDERS, MY BOY
only 350 at the beginning... weak
Is this sped up?
He is that good.
