My grandma has suffered from Parkinson’s for the past 20 or so years. She’s essentially in the final stages now and we have to put thickener in her drinks, or else she will aspirate. She chokes easily on her food and we have to be very mindful of what we feed her. She is wheelchair-bound and needs 24-hour care from my mum and aunt who both work full time as well. x
My uncle passed away from MND in 2015. He lived for about a year and a half. He was in he was only in his 50’s, but he lived a great life, serving in the household cavalry xx

Having Puréed food reminds me of my recent stay in hospital months ago. I had Meningitis, Encephalitis and Pneumonia, I was in a coma for weeks and when I woke up, my vocal cords and swallowing was temporarily weak from the ventilator tube I had in, which made me so angry that wasn’t able to eat or drink. Just an measly NG Tube. Overtime I had to learn how to drink and swallow again, until I finally got all back and I had that NG Tube out thank god.
Such a big shame about Paul my heart gos out to him and everyone that’s going through just a dreadful endless health issue just like Paul also for everyone who wonts to tell me it just a story line Iv been watching 👀 Corrie since it first appeared on ITV in the 60 s all the actors are wounderfull old and new ❤❤❤❤❤
Yes, it's a storyline. These things have to be approached and the public needs to see how they are dealt with, not it's not easy, even for someone acting the relevant part. If TV doesn't show these devastating conditions and the reality of what happens, then most people will just ignore symptoms and not get the help they need.

There are 5 subtypes of MND and they all have various life expectancies, deterioration rates and presentations. They all look very different to each other; it’s likely they have two different diagnoses.
I know its totally different But when i got my top teeth taken off and had to eat soft foods for awhile. I ate baby food, only liked the fruit ones. Yogurt, pudding. I tried pureed and didn't like it. I pureed a pizza, wasn't to bad
I just feel that someday Paul is gonna die in the show and it’s gonna be a terrible situation in the show hopefully he recovers it’s very unlikely tho poor man..
Sadly MND isn’t something that can be recovered from. It’s a muscle wasting disease and gradually affects all muscles including as we are seen here swallowing and speech. Eventually he won’t be able to speak at all. Yes it’s a killer,he’s already been told he’s got less than a year.
Both Billy and Todd are going to be devastated when Paul dies. I want them to be strong as friends, as they are going to need the comfort and love of and from each other. Billy is going to be completely lost when Paul dies, he will need a true friend.
I've never liked bertie even now even she's trying to play the caring mother , she hasn't really been much of a mother to Paul at all or gemma, Paul needs be around Billy, Todd, gemma and summer more

I know they're fictional characters but it does happen in real life, people get overwhelmed and overreact instantly to something difficult... I'm not speaking on behalf of EVERYONE but still, it happens... Not going into details but I've been there 😕 I know you meant no ill-intentions with your comment though, I just thought I'd give a perspective is all.
