lovely film! I found the scene at the wedding so beautiful intimate, the way she gently took his drink and he inched closer, then gave it back...as lovers would..stunning film, moving.. once in lifetime love even though not consummated..they were beautiful together..the way he lingered after the elevator closed, the tears she tried to hold back as she held the cartouche..beautifully done..to get viewers so emtionally invested! I hope she tells Mark her feelings and bc they're kids are grown, rejoins Tareq, rather than stay w/ Mark out of obligation..I wouldn't want my spouse to stay with me if their heart was elsewhere

Just watched this beautiful and subtle film and I know it will stay with me for a long time. You chose all the best scenes and a lovely song to accompany them.
One of the most beautiful movies I have seen in a long time! Ruba is one of a kind, the cast is extremely talented, and everyone who appeared in the film was just amazing!! It's time to make PART 2 of Cairo Time!
Who wouldn't fall in love with those blue eyes on that brown skin? The contrast is too big to let you indifferent.:) Father Sudanese, mother a British blue eyes blonde. :))
Oh this is such a lovely video with such a perfect song... bless you... Director Ruba Nadda said that Sid (Alexander Siddig) exudes the old time Hollywood vibe and she was so correct...the gentleness and chivalry were just oozing out of him effortlessly.... Now I just have to rewatch Deep Space Nine's "Our Man Bashir" tonight while waiting for my Cairo Time DVD to arrive...
@nastyavichkan I agree, a truly great romantic film. Slow but powerful. I've watched it 4 times and will watch it again. By the way, I'm a 64 year old male Vietnam vet - this is not just a "chick flic."
Excellent Joanie, really enjoyed the track-completely unknownn to me-and will look out for the film......we're off to see 'Tree of Life' tonight. Have a good week, Jim
I'm flattered that you keep coming back to it. I really hope you have a wonderful time. Maybe you could take some pics and put them up on youtube in a slideshow? Anyway, wish I was going. I'm going to have to live vicariously through you, lol! ;)
Hi Joanie! I remember our conversation here but somehow I don't see it 😮 I know it's been awhile but I hope you're doing well and I did go over Egypt... to Kuwait! 😅
@TheIGreat - Yes, it was very beautiful and bittersweet. I was heartbroken when Tareq walked away after Juliette got in the elevator (the end of my montage here) and then cried when she was in the car going to the pyramids, holding her cartouche along the way. It was gut-wrenching. But it was a beautiful love story, and I think them not getting together actually made it more emotional, more real. Thanks for the comment, I reallly appreciate it!
If only they could do a sequel on Juliette separating from Mark. Then she meets with Tareq again and they finally fall in love. They can't be together in the first movie because Juliette is married to Mark. They need to separate and divorce due to problems of their own of course not cheating then have Juliette meet with Tareq again and of course be together.
@ReneeHM1 Renee! I was thinking about you. Glad you stopped by! Yes, definitely too much going on there right now for a visit. Someday though!! Take care dear!!
Oh that's great Jim - glad it turned out on the good side of reviews. 3 boys eh? Sounds familiar. At least it wasn't 1000 sons, har har! (Yes, I know how to really wear out a joke, lol!). Anyway, I'll be on the lookout for that movie. Books - cable station HBO here in the US has produced the fantasy series "Game of Thrones" and it's really excellent, so now I'm getting caught up on the book series by George R.R. Martin. Started the second one "Clash of Kings". So far, so good. ~Joanie
Hi Renee!! Sorry I haven't gotten back to you for a while. It's been crazy here - between Sandy, then that nor'easter, holidays, then last week my hubby had a heart attack (no worries - he's fine. No permanent damage , we were so lucky to act fast, but it really scared the heck out of us) so I haven't been checking my messages. But it's great to hear from you and I wish you a very happy 2013. Hopefully I'll get to work on the video soon.
The Tree of Life. !!!...Joanie & all, go see it....if only for the cinematography , it's stunning , especially in a cinema setting. There is perhaps something to be gained with having the boys being with you....be interesting to listen to their thoughts on it. Storyline ?......dialogue is minimal. .. Father rules the roost with an iron fist/ mom ( and the three boys ) dare not utter a wrong word....outcome ? ... Oh, Diana Gabaldon ,..library are gonna have a look. Jim
Wow, so strange! I'm not sure if those numbers are right but it's pretty neat if they are. I'm doing pretty well, thank you! We were hit with hurricane Sandy and then a nor'easter, but we are all ok. I'm actually thinking of doing another Cairo Time video - hopefully I can get it together soon (when I find free time). I hope you are doing fantastic yourself!!
Beautiful video for an amazing movie

I would have fallen for him
I already have fallen for him-When he was on Star Trek DS9-and I'm still head over heels in love with Sid!

ok honest to god i really do like this movie but ummm did she just like... totally get away with cheating? like fully? no repercussions? LMAOO
she didn't cheat...she remained loyal to her husband despite her feelings for Tareq
