To me, Dan Vasc is the epitome of masculinity. And showing such pure, raw emotion doesn’t take away from that masculinity one bit. It takes a strong man to show emotion.🙌
Regarding tears, he said that not all tears are of sadness, but - especially in this case - of victory.
This has nothing to do with his father's death, but with coming out of a deep depression.
He was at rock bottom, realized it and really wanted to get out - knowing all the work and strength it would require. The willpower involved in this was enormous.
He got "help", obviously; He also found support in his Faith - in the midst of the worst depressive crisis of his life (the worst, but last - he guaranteed).
He was "reborn" into his true destiny.
A warrior of the Light found his path... and that's beautiful!🥹

He definitely doubled down on what he is good at; he studied voice and worked for years to develop that voice. This song is amazing. His band is called "Fearless." He stated once that the tears in this are not due to sadness; tears can be tears of joy. He definitely feels and emotes every song he sings. That gives them that additional punch. Dan recorded this one just a few days after the passing of his father in 2017, he personifies the son of pain and that’s also the reason for his tears, he was very close to his father.
Hi, I just saw this reaction and noticed your comment. Just to clarify: American Trilogy was 6 years ago, and that was the one he recorded right after his father’s death. Son of Pain was several years later, and I think these tears are about overcoming depression - “I was caught in an evil spell, and now I want just to live again.” Emotions can be triggered by many experiences, of course. I don’t mean to be critical, just want to point out the date discrepancy. Best from a fellow Dan follower.

Dan sings from his heart genuinely. I haven't heard anything from Dan that wasn't perfect vocally. Amazing Grace is one of my favorites from him.
A few days ago a Dan Vasc/ Minniva duet was released on “Minniva Official” channel. The most beautiful tribute to “Beauty and the Beast” that I’ve ever heard. An absolute masterpiece. Dan doesn’t “metalized” this song but he adds just the perfect amount of growly “Beast” into the vocals to give it a wonderful texture. Highly recommend.

I had only heard Dan’s version of this song before today. I just listened to the original before clicking on this video and it absolutely blew my mind how much Dan was able to sound like the original. It’s not the first time I’ve been blown away by his chameleon- like vocal abilities. How he does this is a mystery to me. Amazing.

Rhapsody of Fire is a band. A legend. Power Metal outfit out of Italy. Incredible players and composers, we hadn't seen anything like it when they burst onto the scene in 95. Haven't been surpassed since, in my opinion. There's another cover of them, Dawn of Victory, that Dan sings with their singer, Fabio Lione (he's with Brazilian band Angra now🔥🔥).
Rhapsody very much deserves a look. Try Magic of a Wizard's Dream ft. Sir Christopher Lee or if you don't want another ballad, Emerald Sword.

You monolog at the end is like what dan talks about in his speaking times in videos or in his vlog type ones. He has overcame battles and his shares a bit about it..but mostly its about shaking the dust off and KNOWING that its your choices in life. He quotes a line about anything a mind can conceives and believe it can accomplish.. its 2 am now and my brain is tired and the pain pills have not helped for carp today..so forgive the explanation. Just know that his music and his life it seems is inspiring others to become who God made them to be...

He was the antagonist in the first two or three, the general of the armies of Hell. This is the moment he puts his life in the hands of the Angels and is reborn. He will become the most powerful of the heroes and achieve the defeat of the forces of evil.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND "Tom Traubert's Blues (4 Sheets to the Wind in Copenhagen)" by Tom Waits (Also known as "Waltzing Matilda"). His voice is so unique that one critic once described it as though "it was soaked in a vat of bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months and then taken outside & run over with a car"!
