Bridges cross the Fox River in four places in St. Charles, three through the downtown : Prairie St., Illinois St. and Main St. Plus the 4th at Red Gate. With the Geneva Bridge, Batavia Bridges at Fabyan Parkway and Wilson St., how many do you want before it's not a con? As to winter, where in the northern parts of the Midwest is it different, so how is that a con? And there are groomed xc ski trails and toboganning hills within 20 minutes.
Yes, St Charles is beautiful now. But, I've watched it change since 1977. It's become very commercialized. It use to be a quant small town where people knew each other. The best part were the ducks. They came first here. Mom and her babies walking across the downtown side streets from the river. Everyone in their cars always waited for them to cross. It was so awesome! You could even go down to Pottawatomie park and feed them. Then St Charles started to grow and people were moving in from other places and honking at the ducks to move from the streets. It was pathetic! Once a beautiful small quant town with character and beautiful nature is now getting over populated. Not to mention how overly expensive the houses have become. But, I guess its all about the big dollar instead of preserving is character. The people who have moved there now have no idea how great it was before. And unfortunately, they never will.

None of the cons are cons to me. You *can* get to Chicago with a little effort, but you are away from its urban sprawl.
It’s pronounced “ar-cod-uh” with emphasis on “cod”. Otherwise, great job!
