Would you use a custom notification sound on your iPhone?
Yes, but you didn’t show how to change the DEFAULT tone. Some apps don’t let you choose the sound and the rely on the default tone. Example: Mobi app. They have a water leak device alerts water leaks. The iOS 17 default “ding” is not appropriate and I tried following your instructions. They don’t address the default tone. You never said how to change the default (ding) tone.

This literally shows you how to change text tone - everyone knows how to do this - what we need is a work around on app notifications so we don’t have to use this awful new default water droplet sound that nobody can hear - I got excited when I saw this video only to realize it’s just text tone

This new notification tone reeks of bonus-driven product development. Unnecessary changes so someone can add a bullet point to his year-end review.
I’m an uber driver and I’ve lost hundreds of dollars already with this new notification sound. I don’t hear my phone when I get reservation request. If they do changes they should keep in place the older sounds/settings in case you want to keep them
Yes! I work for Instacart- I can’t hear the notifications at all when orders are there.. I really hate this!
Type in rebound when you go to settings and then scroll down a bit till you see classic and then choose tri-tone

You didn't show how to do it for instagram and other apps, although you said you would.
This doesn’t show how to change the DEFAULT TONE, meaning the tone on an app that doesn’t have changeable tones. Many apps do not have changeable tones and the iOS 17 app default is horrible, as many have posted. SOMEONE PLEASE find a workaround for the default tone!

What happen to creating custom sound for other apps? Your video indicated "This is how you do it" Starting at 1:21, but what you showed us was how to import a media file into garage band and export it to iOS files. The part you'd left out was how to add the sound file to a specific app.
There’s got to be a less complicated way.

Hi, at the start of the video, you made a note that most people viewing your videos aren’t subscribing.
You have to be able to offer things that people can’t get elsewhere in order for people to subscribe.
For example, you’ve made a perfectly good video about how to set your own custom ringtones (something I’ve done loads in the past & still have them on my iPhone), *however* you missed out something critical: rather than going to that website & downloading that rather boring notification sound, you can actually make *anything* into a ringtone/alarm tone/music file.
For example, you can screen record a video on UA-cam containing music, or sound effects. Then go into Photos, go to your video, crop it at the beginning & the end so that it is ‘clean’ at the beginning & the end.
Then, go to ‘share’ your video, but save it into the Files section on the iPhone, and from there, you can then continue with the rest of your process (I used to use iTunes back in the day, you use Garage Band). That can strip the sound away from the video, then continue with your process & export it to either a song or a tone.
Can we put it in whats app ringtone?
Why did they change it to the most unhearable sound? And then they make it almost impossible to change it back to the original🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

You forgot to show how to remove any previous custom notification tones. Thought that is important as well.
OMG I haven’t used built in notification sounds on a phone since 2005.This is the most convoluted process for the simplest thing. Any other phone, you just download a sound file, long press on it and chose "Set as notification sound" and done. Apple is so weird about letting users do the simplest things. Is this what Apple people have been bragging about as a superior phone?! It's like an XBOX gamer acting like their system is better than a PC gamer's setup. Bless your hearts.

Apple users are funny. If they aren't allowed to change a notification sound as android I can't imagine how they will be impressed when splitting screen in iphone natively will be a "revolutionary" feature for them 😂😂
Interesting... you talk about making any sound a notification sound for 3rd party apps, then show the process of creating a new sound, but then attach the new sound to MESSAGES! (which is a native app that has a notification sound that CAN be changed)- but somehow you lost sight of the fact that this video was SUPPOSED to describe how to change a notification sound for a third party app! In fact you still CANNOT change the notification sound (whatever apple gives you) for 3rd party apps that don't allow you to change notification sounds (i.e., stuck with what Apple gives you for 3rd party app notification sounds).
It seems easier just to migrate to Android 😂😂😂
this is so stupid and complicated, in android you simply change the melody you want without downloading, swiping and any other moves, just go to the sound of the instagram notification, tap to change the bitrate from the phone, whatever you want, I really feel sorry for the ios users who are struggling to change a simple melody

That’s why i would never buy an iPhone. Terribly, painfully and unnecessarily complicated to do such a simple thing. In an android phone you just simply copy the sound files to the designated folder and bob is your uncle.

The iPhone is such a sh it that we have to come to watch this kind of videos, I was an Android user, Samsung, everything customisable and in this fuk ng phone I can’t even place the icons wherever I want and the widgets are awful, I already put a sound on the alarm and I have to wake up with an awful sound because it doesn’t make it. And, the camera, is not as good as in Samsung or pixel, iPhone doesn’t even have a “pro mode”
This is the worst thing I’ve seen didn’t even show us how to do shit all you did was show us what we already know😂
