Aside from the virtuoso Romane and his amazing group, the rhythm guitar has red socks and that is amazing!
i 've been playing guitar for over forty years & I am hooked
enough with the electrics and the amplifiers
Acoustic Jazz all the way!!!!!!
Sadly, Django never recorded this. I like this version best.
i had the pleasure of performing in nashville with ramone and jim nichols and his brother ! chet atkins was in the audience ! it was for the c. a. a. s. convention at the music city sheraton ! both ramone and jim are phenomonal musicians ! ramone plays like the devil himself on this most excellent django rein hardt composition ! romane is a master guitarist ! hello romane ! thank you for this excellent video ! january 3 2010 les copeland
because of these few Romane and Rosenberg Trio performances, Romane is my favorite performer I've ever seen anywhere
What a beautiful piece! I've been trying to learn this for the last 5 months and finally got it down! I'm no Romane but I like to think i'm on my way:)
Awesome!!! So enjoyable:)
Grandma Mary
Style!
Pure class.
BRAVO! The soloist even looks like Django.
And to think that Django had played like this with only two fingers on his left hand (having lost the other two in a fire...)
Still - beautifully done! BRAVO!
Ah ! Just heavenly ! Smiles JL
patrick tres fort j ai joue avec dans ma jeunesse il jouait deja mieux que moi grace a son pere prof de music l ami pierrot de la chope des puces
This Cat Is.... Straight Up... Fantastic!
One can learn so much by watching such great playing!
Beautiful sound!
I love this song so much! It is truly magnificent.
Really Great that sound, really great musicians!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the laugh. Probably a common reaction to such effortless virtuosity.
Romane. such an awesome sports coat.
Nice .. very nice - there is only ONE reincarnation of Django, and Romane is it!
I've been a huge fan for years - cannot understand why you don't see more of him in the states.
Thanks for posting!
Brilliant,elegant
Beautiful, i like that.
This is Music to my ears..
Great job, this is not easy, great tempo and dynamics.
Great version.
It is good that younger people are carrying on!
Very nice!!
Cool! Bravo!!!
So true, this is terrific music that challenges and engages the listener. As for punk Joan Rivers said, the good thing about punk is that it gives the ugly kids a chance!
excellent video! I love this song :D :D :D
loved it, nice jacket romane!
Found it, thank you sir!
This should keep me occupied for the next few years haha
superb ! :-)
Romane is seriously great. A really classy player.d
the B part of this tune totally blows my mind : )
Great Playing!
Nice! Likewise the Django's tash as well!
yeah ! :-) greetings to you and Bert, Vidimah !
Bravo! :)
Very enjoyable!
The accompanist on the left appears to be the famous Mario who himself is an amazing one-man-band who plays and sings with remarkable talent. He's also funny as hell. Mario, the Catskills miss you. Peace.
excellent
oh yeah, that guy is so good
Oleee Romane
thx for this tip! this tabs are avesome!
tchoums a toi
I've been playing this song for like 7 fkn years now, I built up a lot of bad habits but now I'm learning it slowly from the ground up. I can do 75% speed easily and 90% speed pretty well but that last ten percent is a bitch! Gonna keep at it until I can do it.
Panie Romanie!
Prachtig, geniet ervan
The very complex
@QuantumPlenum same for my Friday today!
@GassyCoke I just purchased Michael Horowitz Gypsy Rhythm. I've always loved Gypsy comping behind and soloist, and so I do like this book. It's just really expesive it was $65. One thing that I loved L' Espirit Manouche is the diagram on playing one kind of arpeggio from the first fret up to the 12. If you can do that alone you will be well off. If you have a good grasp on music theory you can fill in the holes.
Mafia music
Romane!
1:45 Easy version of the B7 descending run.
As it should be .
A hummingbird couldn't catch this guy...
I think you have to have a cool mustache to play in this band
im goin to learn this fuck i can feel the moustache tingling beneath me skin
@GassyCoke
Thanks for your help :)
Oh if you don't have Guitar pro run a Google search on: 128 gypsy power tabs there's a Power tab file for this piece in there. Other version though.
@thekizle
that's strange... with me it actually worked! but you could still try the pink-suit-and-pois-tie-trick!
@sinisterdanny Yeah i've been learning in a very enjoyable way with Romane's book, M.H Gypsy Picking and transcribing Django & other great manouche players.
So far i think thats the best way to learn: transcribing.
One thing i didn't really like about L'Esprit Manouche is that it has only Romane's songs, and he is one of my favorites but i'd like it more if it had some of Djangos tunes too, but hey, thats what transcribing is for.
Grande bigote! que linda musica, pero django la tocaba con 2 dedos menos jeje
Ha ha ha, you also have to wear a nice pimp blazer!
Hey guys, i just ordered his book "L' Esprit Manouche" and i was wondering if anyone could tell me what you thought of this book (if you purchased it) and if it helped, and maybe recommend me other Gypsy Jazz books.
Thanks
I love your comment!
i Roma sam mes nai bare
illnastic: There are several books out there. I recommend videos first as there are some picking techniques that are really hard to describe in words. Denis Chang has good videos on this, and I believe that this video also came from Romane's instructional video. There are several youtube videos that could help you as well, but you really have to stick to the "authentic" ones and not imitators in order to learn the proper techniques.
Great! Magnificent Romane.
Can anyone give me the substitute chords being played here for bars 9 through 12 (2nd ending resolution) of the 2nd verse? substitutions for Am / Am - Em/ Em part before F#7/B7/ Em resolution.
Much appreciated!
Thanks.
@GassyCoke
Hi. Where can I order the book from? thanks.
@CJbouzouki
Just go to ebay.com and search "Romane L'esprit manouche" and there you go, lots of sellers and different prices the cheaper are like $17 the most expensive ones are like $35, they are the same book, just different sellers.
Hope that helps ; )
:X:X: ollalla
Anyone know if theres a tab for this?
I havn't found one so far :(
im trying to improvise in that way for years, but i think i quit
who's credited for Django's Waltz?
is it beurk
I just peed a little.
does anyone know the chords for this one?
Tx
@ByGoneBlues haha, well in their culture that type of mustache is seen as a sign of manlyhood in the camps
Mafia music?
I was in Sicily last summer playing with a 92 year old mandoline player. This Sicilian man played a lot of waltz or 3/4 traditional songs. It sounded a lot like this. So I understand the link :)
Guitar Tab Please! Not Guitar Pro Transcription! XD
@ByGoneBlues Mine isn't cool thats why I suck. If you don't have adequate facial hair you will never be a musical success. I'm 35 and my moustache still looks like something my cat scratched off.
impressive ability but be honest, no soul ,no heart, timing all up the left. i wanna pack in as many notes as i can, can you actually recognize a tune? Ican't
I listened to many version of this piece and this one is the best I have found (even Stochelo or Angelo couldn't play it better!!)
It's not just the speed. Such dynamics! marvelous!
